It had been a while since the big, sparkling egg Unnur had been given had cracked into a million little pieces and the Amaura now known as Vienne had come hopping out of it after a frowny yawn. Not wanting the newborn to go too long without playing in the snow, as any other toddler rightfully had to, the young trainer decided they'd have to take another walk. Earmuffs resting on her shoulders and chocolate bar in hand, Unnur followed after the Amaura playfully running back and forth, seemingly entertained making a snowball.
Small, sparkling snowflakes were still falling down when she and her baby dinosaur had exited the local Pokémon Center. The snowfall had stopped since then, rendering the pair of earmuffs gratuitious, but Unnur had refused to put them away thinking that a new whiteout would appear in due time. One hop forward, two, and Vienne had produced an spheroid almost her size. "Careful," Unnur warned. Being buried by a model of your own creation was an experience she'd rather not let the dinosaur go through just yet.

Unnur was still nomming on her milk chocolate bar when she noticed there was something strange about the way the snow sparkled over there, steps away from Vienne's masterpiece. It looked like ice, rather than snow, but Unnur was pretty sure they were not currently stepping on a lake or any other sort of frozen water mass. So what was that tiny chunk of ice? Was it edible? Was it sweet? Unnur would soon be running out of chocolate, after which she would need to find some sort of replacement. She'd have to approach it to determine whether it was edible or not, and what it was to begin with. Might as well do it now.
The blue-haired trainer springily walked towards the object her attention, followed by the Amaura's equally curious but definitely colder wake. Upon closer inspection, Unnur noticed slow, evenly paced movement coming out of the ice chunk. It was almost as if it were breathing. As if it were alive. She took a step backwards, hoping that the figure would maybe make her step out of an hallucination, if that was what she was having, not noticing that her Pokémon was, in turn, getting closer to it. Somehow, for some reason, Unnur was reminded of a knife being sharpened by the way this piece of ice shone under the sunlight.
When the Bergmite finally awoke from its nap, it would be Vienne—the one closest to it—the poor soul that became the unfortunate victim of its upgraded tackle. The Amaura fell down at almost the same time the Bergmite rolled off, writhing in pain as the move he had chosen was a double-edged knife. Of course, the Amaura had gotten the shortest end of the stick, but the Bergmite seemed to be a big wimp. Vienne did not seem so much bothered by the enemy attack, but by the surface she'd landed on: the snowman she had been trying to build. Unnur could tell the baby dinosaur was about to cry. What a pain.
"Vienne, Ancient Power." The young ice trainer's instructions were issued immediately. Providing the Bergmite was truly as much of a wimp as it looked like it was, a good special move, added to its self-harming attack, would be enough to take it down. "Don't cry." The Amaura cried nonetheless, though it was while she summoned boulders of rock from beneath the snow, which later came crashing against the assaulting chunk of ice. White mist wafted out of the crashing zone. Once the smoke had vanished, the two females were able to gaze at a Bergmite who'd fallen on its side and whose eyes were closed shut.
Unnur stared, far from amused. "Now, how do we move it?" Perhaps a kick would do? She tried to put the thing in motion, to no avail. Nope, the monster was apparently heavier than it looked. In that case, all that was left was capturing it. Unnur noticed the sad, sullen expression on her Amaura's face as she tossed an empty pokéball at the fallen Bergmite. "I told you not to cry, Vienne."
Vienne
Amaura used Ancient Power (Bergmite -98%). Hit by Takedown (Amaura -21%, Bergmite -5.25%) after Sharpen (Attk. +1). Catch attempt with a pokéball.

In the end, Unnur helped Vienne build that snowman of hers. The process was excruciatingly tiring, bothersome, and most importantly an absurd pain. At least the blue dinosaur's sobs had stopped. Having to sit and listen to her cries would have been too much for the young trainer. Unnur felt a strange sensation of familiarity as she gave shape to the snow Vienne had smartly collected. A sort of déja vu, so to speak, because she certainly couldn't recall any instances in which she'd done something like this before, or even just mentioned building a snowman, in the past.
The blue-haired trainer sat down on the snowy ground, tired, and looked up at the summer sky. Unnur was intrigued by the manner in which it would snow in this city despite the season, and how its climate was so much unlike her hometown's. She was gazing at puffy, heavily condensed sky vapour that tried to hide thinner layers of cirrus clouds with relative success, 'til her ocean-coloured irises stopped at a small ball of red that'd managed to camouflage rather well between the clouds, the same colour as select sections of its fur.
Unnur pointed at the lone bird flying in the sky. "Do you want to practice your aim?" she asked her Amaura, who was now splattered all over the snow, resting by her trainer's side after a job well done. In her own way. Before any shots were fired, however, a small package slowly descended from above. One single dark spot, at first, grew larger and larger and took the shape of one neatly wrapped cube that would gently descend onto Unnur's hands. And, from then, the countdown started.
It was a heavy, although very little, square package swathed in shiny, colourful wrapping paper, complete with a ribbon and a white gift card attached. Early Christmas? "What's that sound?" As intrigued as she was about the gift, something else worried little Unnur. The soft, barely audible tick-tock of a turnip piece greeted the young trainer and her Pokémon with deceitful charm, but a quick shake would reveal the nature of this present's contents. Horrified, Unnur threw the package as far away as she could.
"Vienne!" the trainer screamed, and her Amaura opened her mouth to let a chilling breath of ice consume the time bomb. As soon as the cold had creeped into the thin paper, made its cardboard container double over and crack, the blue dinosaur turned to the Delibird, the most impolite Delibird whose gift was similarly most unwelcome. A new set of earth and gravel was thrust in its direction, one of the many boulders colliding precisely against its wing, thus sending it crashing down. Her trainer picked up another empty pokéball from her small bag, and tossed it at Santa's little helper.
Vienne
Amaura used Nature Power (Frost Breath) to counter Present, then Ancient Power against the Delibird (-153%). Attempting catch with a pokéball.

Now that Unnur had two more minions in her team, and consequently two empty pokéballs less in her bag, she was struck with the realisation that it was time to visit the Pokémon Center to both recharge Vienne's energy—maybe let her take a nap—and buy more provisions. Specifically, more snacks. If she could find a chocolate bar from the same brand as her last, that would be grand. Other provisions like potions and antidotes and a few pokéballs more would come in handy as well, though. Unnur was simply more worried about food than anything else, as usual.
On her way to the Pokémon Center, she found a small piglet. This little brown ball of fur reminded her of Manny from very, very long ago, and made the corners of Unnur's lips rise up in happy remembrance. Memories which would, in turn, lead to nastier thoughts. Unnur turned to her Amaura, as oblivious about the topic as could be, with a determined stare. "Let's take that one down, Vienne," she said.
Her trainer's orders had been rather vague, and so the young dinosaur felt free to decide which moves she'd be using to do as instructed. It had to be admitted that Vienne wasn't a very experienced battler, however, and that she therefore did not know many moves other than the ones she'd already used, led by Unnur's explicit directions. What she lacked in experience, though, she made up for with a creativity fitting for one as young and innocent as herself. She'd used Ancient Power and Nature Power separately before, but what about doing them both at the same time?
Worth a try, right? Surely, the combination of moves that the Amaura was getting ready to fire off would be quite a sight to behold. It wasn't everyday that you got to witness a bunch of rocks being frozen to the core midair and all around one poor little piglet's fragile body. Unnur hoped it had some thick fat to protect it from this. Or, rather, no. Unnur actually hoped it didn't.
Vienne
Amaura used Ancient Power and Nature Power (Frost Breath).

Snow was starting to catch up. They were almost there, the blue dinosaur and her trainer, but Unnur's hair was already completely covered in frosty powder and the snowflakes in her eyelids were making it a bit hard to see. The girl, already used to such weather, was not that bothered by the snowfall, but she did want to come inside the building and buy her things already. Actually, they were mere feet away from the Pokémon Center's entrance. Why weren't they coming in, then? Someone—or, rather, something—was obstructing the way, and its shape and texture were ones she had first encountered not long ago, too.
Another Bergmite.
Unnur did not really wantanother of these miniature icebergs. Then again, she did not want to be kept out of the Pokémon Center for long, either. As patient as the ice specialist could be, she found unjustified patience to be a foolish habit possessed only by people who had nothing better to do and no intellectual means to pursue anything better. Thanks to her experience with the Bergmite from just a moment ago, Unnur was aware of just how heavy these critters could be, and decided that promptly knocking it out and trapping it inside a pokéball would benefit her interests best.
It seemed this pillar of ice was more aggressive than the one she'd already captured, though, if taking advantage of the renewed hail to exploit one of the most powerful moves in its arsenal: Blizzard. Unnur was not going to let that happen.
"Mirror Coat!" she shouted, and a powerful wave of wind was brought to counter the Bergmite's own. At the same time, the Bergmite was preparing to dash at Vienne as fast as it could for a bite. An expression such as 'as fast as a Bergmite' wasn't one that said much, considering the small ice type's painful sluggishness, but nevertheless it tried, and the baby Amaura nevertheless evaded it after her trainer's warning "Dodge!"
Vienne was starting to take this personally. Not only had the Bergmite been obstructing the entrance to this place that her trainer so wanted to come inside to, it even had the cheek to attack them! Two boulders of specially hard rock were forced upwards from underneath the snow, forceful enough to make the Bergmite jump, but thankfully not strong enough to send it flying. The fall would have seriously been terrible. And incredible, too, in a sense, but mostly just terrible.
However, given that the Bergmite ended up pretty much in the same position, there still was no way around catching it, if only temporarily, to get it out of the way. With this thought in mind, Unnur took out her last empty pokéball and let it fall on top of the previously offending but now only unconscious Pokémon. She was content with this, she supposed, because at least the ice chunk hadn't forced them to use any moves that would have frozen the door shut.
Vienne
Amaura used Mirror Coat (against Blizzard, -30%) and Ancient Power (-98%). Dodged Ice Fang. Capture attempt with a pokéball.
