| SHINJU AND XUEAS FRIENDS: I can totally see them hanging out with each other and being generally open about things, given both of their charismatic personalities. Shinju, I feel, would be the more polite of the two, but with bursts of excitement and intensity in comparison to Xue's continuous happiness. They also could bond over their care of Pokemon and dismay at the treatment of such. In addition, Shinju would totally be a bit maternal to Xue on the basis of age, if anything. Might remind the former shrine maiden of her own youth.
AS RIVALS: Shinju would gladly battle Xue at any time, and would enjoy it quite a bit. They may get into petty arguments, what with Xue's poor sportsmanship and Shinju's often aggressive retaliation, but in the end, it would work out well enough. Competition is always appreciated.

They say that the best of friends make the bitterest of rivals! Xue does indeed seem interested in meeting the female with a name similar to a legendary of old! You're probably right when it comes to mannerisms. While Xue is hardly the rude individual, she is far more peppy and consistent with being happy. Given that you have Mawile, a Pokemon that has caught Xue's eye on a previous site, it'll make for a very interesting opener. Imagine it now: You're doing your business with your Pokemon and a certain Pink-haired individual spots it and immediately runs over to compliment both Mawile/Gligar and you for its care. Xue's experience at a therapeutic spa allows her the option to not only relax Shinju's Pokemon, but the older woman too. Take care of them 'aging' issues.
And let's face it, the topic of battling is going to come up at some point in time. Best right away, where the two can bond and get to know each other than later! They could be travel mates for a little while too, but who knows on that bit. I agree that small, petty arguments will come up. Both are incredibly competitive, and while Xue has a childish personality when it comes to losses...it's superficial at most. She learns at an incredible rate and absorbs tactics like a sponge. You'll never know until we take the plunge!
By all means: Xue is in favor for an introduction with Shinju. Shall I make it or you?
