QQ / 260 As Andrea chose to kept looking through the Badlands, she knew that she was the only one digging—because Thomas had apparently gone to refresh himself with the water and the sandwiches she’d left with him, what she didn’t know that she was slowly but surely heading for disaster… because right at that very moment, her shovel had hit something; but that something was what she wasn’t exactly looking for—and she was quite tired of seeing it in the ground. she thought she heard something shatter like a vase being dropped to the floor; but paid it no heed—that is, until she looked down and saw that she’d cleanly shattered a bone that was as big, if not even bigger, than the one she’d found earlier. “Well, oops. Not like some fossil expert is around to shoot me alive,” she muttered darkly to herself as she then quickly ran away from the spot and tried one last time—who knew if she was going to be able to find something! Her fingers (both literal and figurative) were now crossed at this point as she was now digging quite frantically at the new spot, hoping that something of value would show up! She’d already had so much bad luck for the past month, and now this? I don’t want to cry in front of Tom, but this is utterly ridiculous! Please! Give me something good that I haven’t seen yet! She thought frantically as she continued digging with trembling hands at the new spot where she was now at.

Watch her break down / 443 Who knew that her frantic digging would result into a complete and total nervous breakdown when she’d finally unearthed the last thing she could find in their joint Badlands search? As her shovel scraped against something, she didn’t care about what sound it made, she just tossed the shovel off to one side and slipped on her battered pair of working gloves and started shoveling through the ground with her hands. She didn’t care if Tom was looking at her in this weird way; all she wanted to know was that this was it, this was the thing she’d found…and her face promptly fell as it became clear on what she was going to be taking home. It was like a dam that had built up had suddenly burst; sending its contents out into the area—for what was waiting for her, wasn’t a marble; it wasn’t a fossil either… it was a bone. And it looked to be the partner of the other rather large, unappealing bone they’d found earlier in a nearby spot. “Wha—this—I thought…” she began, stammering as the bone was now exposed to the sunlight; and she was looking down at it. “I thought…your spot, would be…ARGH!” she screeched a few moments later, finally raising both her hands up to her head and then resisting the urge to just go nut-crazy; because she knew that he was watching. Whatever the reason, whatever the cause, she’d been running into nothing but bad things lately; was it all because of that weird marble she’d found last month? It was right after I got that nice purple marble, things started going in a bad way for me… I must… she thought, before continuing to herself, not knowing that she was saying it out loud at this point, “…I must…get rid of it…I know who wants it, but…anything, I must… I have to… get rid of it!” she muttered, shaking her head and finally having a breakdown. Her previous “meltdown” wasn’t as bad as it was this time around—the last time she’d gone crazy in the Badlands, she almost broke her shovel. Now, it was just way too much for her at this point. “T-the B-badlands… t-truly li-lives up to i-its name and…r-reputation,” she continued between strangled sobs, before continuing to unearth the ugly bone. Once it was exposed, she didn’t care—she just pulled it up and out of the dirt, and it was apparently as long as her collapsible staff—if not even longer. “I-I swear…this has…t-to s-stop,” she continued, stammering as she then left the dig site behind, and proceeded to turn in the really long bone.
