He chuckled a bit. "Ambitious, are ya?" He cracked with a smirk. "I hope you get the job, actually. You've got a better head on your shoulders then the others, I'm sure. Maybe you could take Team Magma in a direction that's... I dunno.. Leas dickish?" He suggested with a shrug.
"I mean, I'm sure there's other ways to help the land besides taking habitats from Pokemon, man" he said, sighing. "Team Magma and Team Aqua can't be THAT blind, can they? Why the extremes? What's the point when the other will just try to switch it to the other side again?"
"What I do with Magma will have to be a matter of whether or not I can even surpass the commanders and rise up to that position." He smiled and shook his head. "My first step is to capture an Aron and get an Aggron... as well as a Camerupt... I was thinking a Milotic wouldn't hurt either. I know I'm a steel type specialist, but even the best steel type trainers go about without a full Steel type team." Daxton was all about swinging hard, hitting hard as well as hitting fast.
"Well, the point is to not only accomplish our goals.. but to obliterate the enemy. If we can get one before the other.... we can stop them.. that's just common sense though. Not much to a logic like that." Smirking at Josh, he looked down at his water bottle and took a drink, swiftly having it stolen by his Chimchar "The hell?"

He couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "I know you're fully capable of attaining your goals if you shoot for em, Daxton" he said. "But are you REALLY invested in this land thing? Or are you just following a bandwagon because you can't seem to find another purpose in life?" he asked, tilting his head. "You told me your story, and I listened. And you sound like a lost soul to me. You're drifting, you're not happy doing what you're doing nor do you actually believe in it. You only think you do. Maxie convinced you, yes... But are you here because you really believe in land over water, expanding the land and all that jazz... Or are you only doing it because it gives you a purpose in life, something to do, something to believe in when you have nothing else?" he asked. "Think about that next time you're robbing water types of their habitats, will you?" he asked, giving a sigh as he bit into his sandwich, laughing a bit when his Chimchar stole his water bottle.
Josh would stop cold though when his bag started glowing. "THE HELL?!" he let out as he jumped a bit, not expecting it. He would relax quickly, keeping his composure. His Pokemon were looking at him in concern. He kept a cool head from there because he knew... He knew they could sense it. If he was worried, they'd be worried.
Josh would take off his pack and open it, taking out an egg... It was glowing...
"Oh my god..." he whispered. He knew what was coming next.
"My life only has one assumed purpose Josh, and I've accepted that. No matter what path I walk, I always find myself falling onto the one I walked before." Blinking slowly at Josh, he found his self glaring, which was fixed by another blink and a furrowed brow. "If destruction and chaos are going to drag me around wherever they go. Then I will follow, but I will follow in my own manner. And no amount of say or do will waver me from the path of chaos......" He gave a long pause before looking back up. "But as I said, my path of chaos is the one I carve out... since the path of peace has knocked me down so many times before... Maybe I'm the hand of chaos, and this was meant to be... who cares?"
His question was cut short by the glowing egg, making him reach around to grab a small blanket, handing it to Chimchar to carry over. "That's just until it gains it's walking legs."

"I see no reason to follow a path that you do not care for. If all you've done is "accept" it, then you're not living life the way you should be" he chided with a sigh as he held the egg in his lap. "You need to do what's best for Daxton, and what Daxton is not just satisfied doing... But happy. Not what you think you should be following. You speak the words as if you were a sheep, a dog, one that exists only to serve and fulfill a single purpose without thought to you or others... Others you may very well be effecting with your actions" he warned. "Again, take time to think about all this. Is this really the life you wish to live? The one you plan to spend the rest of your days in? And again.... This whole land thing... Do you believe it as much as you think you do?"
As those words echoed, Josh shielded his eyes as the glow blinded them both. He would open them to find the egg replaced with a Pokemon... A baby Chimchar.
"Whoa..." he muttered. The baby monkey would look around curiously, before looking up at his Trainer. "Chim?" he let out, tilting his head. Josh's lips twitched into a big smile at the first sight of the Chimchar, one of bliss... Joy...
"Welcome to the world... Ignis" he said quietly as he patted the Chimchar's head.
"I'm perfectly happy with the life I'm living. When I kept getting knocked down, I took a whole week to sit back and look down that road, finding that I would enjoy it, and that it would be something worth working for... As for what I do with Team Magma.... that's unclear... but what's for certain is that I'm happy." Frowning and looking at his lap, he furrowed his brow one more time. "It'd just be great.. if she hadn't left me like that....."
When the Chimchar burst out of the egg, he couldn't help but smile some. "Well, congratulations, it's a boy." He watched Azar get up from her sitting position and hop over to investigate the other Chimchar, sniffing at him and chirping over at Daxton like -Look what I found!- "Azar, give him a little space, you can bug him in a second."

He nodded a bit to his explanation in understanding. "Well, if you're happy, really... Truly happy... That's what matters" he said quietly as he looked down at Ignis, his new Chimcar. "Well, look at you. All ready to see the world, huh?" he asked, chuckling a bit. "Oo?" Ignis chirped, tilting his head, before Josh took out an Oran Berry and handed it to him. "Give it a try" he said, smiling a bit. The Chimchar looked a bit hesitant for a moment before taking it and then promptly shoving it into his mouth. "Chim... Chimchar!" he responded happily, wrapping his arms around his new Trainer, who laughed and hugged the Chimchar gently. "You're going to be a great part of the family" he said to Ignis. Lightning curiously walked over just as Azar did, though changed his mind when the first thing that Ignis did was hide behind his Trainer when the other Chimchar came by. He peeked out from behind Josh's shoulder when Daxton called her back.
Daxton chuckled when the Chimchar happily took the berry from his master, blinking down when he noticed that Azar had begun to dig through his backpack. "Come on Azar. Get outta there!" He shooed the playful Chimchar out of his back pack and she bounced over to Josh's Charizard, sniffing at it playfully before bouncing away and bouncing back. All Daxton did was shake his head helplessly.
"Well, he certainly seems healthy enough. He is... just really shy..." Daxton was a little confused. Normally, Chimchar are outgoing little fireballs... but to each it's own he guessed. "To each it's own though. He also seems to really like Oran berries... I have a few if you like them... they really don't do much for my team.. and Auxru and Azar like Pecha berries." He picked up his bag and held it up, pulling out some Oran berries.

Josh laughed a bit when Azar started going through his backpack and Daxton shoo'd her off. "Sounds like she's hungry too" he observed with a smirk. Josh would gently toss a berry over to Azar, nodding to let her know it was okay for her to eat, and even offered her a sandwich too.
"Aye, he seems to be a bit shy" Josh observed at Daxton's words. He would look back at the Chimchar hiding behind him, peeking over at Daxton and Azar from behind Josh. "Maybe it's because he's just a baby. I'm sure he'll come around once he's a little more familiar with the world" he explained as he would gratefully take the Oran Berries, feeding one to the baby Chimchar who would eagerly take it, examine it, and then pop it into his mouth. "Char!" he exclaimed eagerly and Josh would prop the Chimchar onto his lap to let him eat a few more.
"Maybe once he's sort of gotten his footing, we could test him out in a battle?" he suggested to Daxton. "Maybe Ignis and Azar? Next time I see you, how about?"
Daxton watched Azar take the sandwich and berries, staring emotionless and dead looking for a bit. "I don't mind her in my bag for a berry. She just goes in there sometimes to see how big of a mess she came make it." He blinked slowly at her, watching her eat at the foot of the Charizard. Her tail flickered brighter in excitement and she chirped happily with the berry and sandwich.
He looked up at Josh when he mentioned a battle between the two Chimchar. "Sure, sounds good." He looked down at the Chimchar and shrugged. Azar seemed pretty pumped at the thought of a battle, She hopped up and chirped a challenge to the Charizard, feeling like she could take the world. "How about not dying?" The Chimchar hopped back some, realizing how irrational it was to challenge a Charizard to a battle.

Josh eyed Daxton with a look of concern at the... Almost death-like emotionless look he had. Had he touched a nerve maybe? Or maybe the Chimchar did? He hoped not. He was hoping this wouldn't go sour after he'd made a friend. As time went though, it seemed he was just being emotionless to his Chimchar digging into his bag, being used to it. Josh shrugged it off. He looked down at Azar, who was eating her sandwich and berry, then at Ignis who was happily nomming on his own berry.
At the prospect of a battle, Ignis stared up at Josh, obviously curious, but seeming to have a bit of excitement in his eyes. That got his attention, it seemed. Odd how Pokemon seemed to have an instinct for battle so soon after hatching... He had seen it with his Froakie too. Espio had been battling soon after he hatched. Meanwhile some of his other hatchlings hadn't battled at all, Josh preferring to let them grow a bit and live their lives at the ranch first.
He couldn't help but laugh a bit when Azar tried to challenge Fawkes. Fawkes would munch on his sandwich before looking down at the tiny monkey, blowing a bit of smoke at the challenge amusedly before it would think better of it after Daxton warned it.
"I just want Ignis to sort of get used to things before I start battling with him" Josh explained. "So next time, for sure"
He cracked his neck. "So if you don't mind me asking... How long have you been a part of Team Magma?" he asked. He knew the criminal organization might be a sore spot for Daxton, but he couldn't help but be curious. This was the first time he'd met an open team member that hadn't tried to kill him.
Daxtons eyebrows raised at the question of how long he had been in team magma. "Well, I never got the chance to meet Maxie." He spoke downwards, poking at the sandwich he had only taken two bites out of. "I was recruited by a bunch of his old team members ...... About a year and a half ago." He figured he was right, he couldn't remember much but the fact that they enjoyed theirselves, and that the grunts were happier without having to move cave to cave. "I.... Don't really look at that much. I more of try to enjoy myself with the other grunts." Daxton handed the rest of his sandwich to Auxru, who happily took the rest of his sandwich after tilting his head at his master. He could out eat a whole group of people on a good day. "I know I'm not sociable, but I tend to enjoy the company of my team mates. Just to clear that up." His attention turned back to Azar, who was now hugging the big dragons leg. Suck up...

He nodded a bit as he would casually munch a sandwich, listening to his response. "Well, considering Maxie is like.... Dead, I can see why you didn't meet him a year ago" he commented casually. "I just figured you oddballs had disbanded after he died. Y'know... When your idioticy almost destroyed the world" he commented flatly. "Nothing against you personally of course. I'm referring to Magma as a whole" he added, letting out a sigh. "Figured y'all learned your lesson the first time"
It was bold of Josh to say that right to a Magma member's face... Especially one who with the underabundance of Magma members could very well replace Maxie soon... But that's just who he was. Incredibly, brutally honest, maybe to a fault. But if you couldn't handle his honesty... Tough. And it wasn't like he was lying, history wasn't on Magma's side in terms of being looked upon favourably.
He laughed a bit at the social comment. "You? Not social? I never would have noticed" he joked cheekily, shooting him a grin. He looked down at Ignis, who was finally peeking over at the other Chimchar.
Daxton's face maintained a deadpan expression after Josh's string of words. It was OK to be honest, even brutally honest if you had to be. But there were points where such words were out of line and quite unnecessary. "Yea. I suppose so." He stated simply, a quick image of his Metagross munching on Josh quickly wiped away any anger that he was beginning to withhold, making him chuckle some as the image disappeared.
Auxru and Emery gave Daxton a look when he chuckled and went back to eating, watching Azar investigate the others man's team, getting a kick out of the occasional warning from their master, delivered in a subtle, but threatening manner.
Azar had yet to learn her spot in that team, as well to learn that what Daxton says, goes. The other 5, permanent members of the team... his goliath Pokemon... accepted that Daxton's word was law, and appreciated it. Cause from time to time, Daxton would turn to them and ask them what they think they should do, sometimes even turn the battle over to their own judgement.

Josh knew he had stepped a bit out of line, but that was just who he was. In his eyes, he would be doing Daxton a disrespect if he were to lie to his face. Sure, his words were probably hurtful. I mean, it was true that Team Magma's vision and it's idiotic way of doing it had almost destroyed the world, but to say that to the face of someone with that vision was hurtful. But still, it was better to say something that could hurt them, then to hurt them even more with lies and falsehoods. That was how Josh felt. And while Daxton didn't see it, giving him the honest truth from his eyes was one of the biggest respects that Josh could give him.
Ignis would finally peek out from behind Josh and stare over at Azar. He would take a berry and shyly walk toward the other monkey, offering it as a sort of gift. Or peace offering, I don't know, I'm not a fucking Pokemon psychologist. Josh smiled faintly as he looked down at Ignis. "It looks like he's learning to share already" He said. As Ignis handed the berry to Azar, Josh would nod as he saw the last of the sandwiches had been consumed. "It's best we get going, my friend. We have places to go, and training to do" He said as he would begin returning his Pokemon to their Pokeballs, with the exception of Ignis and Lightning, who he would allow to climb onto his shoulders. Once he was done cleaning up, he would get up and extend a hand to Daxton for a handshake.
"I'm sure we'll meet again. But when we do, I'd like a battle. Ignis against Azar. Gives us time to raise them" He said with a small smirk. "Train her good. I'm sure Ignis will be just as strong by the time we meet again"
