"Well, that sucked" Josh remarked as he looked back at the Game Corner, sighing. It was a waste of money for mediocre prizes, if you asked him. He had to regret taking the suggestion of one of his friends to try the gambling game and try the game corner. It had been a disaster, obviously. As usual, his luck sucked, and he'd blown quite a bit of money trying to get any sort of coins in winnings. Eventually, the blonde had given up and left, deciding it wasn't worth it.
"Pika Pi..." Lightning whimpered with his ears down, obviously as discouraged as his Trainer, moreso due to the mood of his Trainer and how that bond between them effected the Pikachu. Regardless, perhaps a walk around Mauville would help lighten the blonde's spirits. While he had been here before, he had only passed by on his trip to Lavaridge to meet with Izumi before. Maybe it was time he took an official tour of the town.
This was just another series of odd events this week. As he walked through Mauville, he couldn't help but try and remember the uniform of the woman he had met earlier this week... It was an odd blue, and he'd seen it before, he knew... But from where?
Of course, he didn't know he had met a member of Team Aqua.
Daxton stood in front of the Pokemon center with his arms crossed, figuring out why in the hell there was a Pokemon up there antagonizing him. "Move out of the damn way!" He growled one last time, and this time, effectively getting the Pokemon to scamper away. "Finally." With that, he moved off towards the game corner, looking for the Pokemon that had seemed to scamper towards the building.
There was another trainer standing in front of the building though. "Hey.. watch out.. there's a pesky Pachirisu shocking people who come to close to the electric signs." The tall male walked past the trainer some and looked up at the sign. His red coat swayed in the wind some, and luckily, his uniform wasn't underneath of it cause it blew open at the chest. "Auxru, handle this." Throwing out his Pokeball, he released his Lucario. "Just scare it away. You're bigger than it." On command, the Lucario jumped at the Pachirisu and growled at it, chasing it away from that sign... only for it to go back to the Pokecenter sign. "Ugh... fuck it."

Josh's walk was interrupted by New Dante, I mean some guy with a red coat that made him look like a sea captain. What did he captain? The Red Sea? Nah, only women could be the captain of a ship called The Red Sea. Regardless, he had warned him about a Pachirisu shocking people who came close to it's self proclaimed territory, before unleashing his Lucario to scare it off. Josh leaned against the wall as he watched this display, smirking a bit. He considered helping the old guy out, but he seemed to be able to handle himself.
Josh himself was wearing a dark-blue t-shirt, with a black leather jacket covering most of it. On his shoulder? Lightning, his Pikachu. His partner, his bro, his wingman at bars. Okay, maybe that last bit wasn't true, but it would be if the 6'1 blonde went to bars.
Finally, he watched as the Pachirisu ran off.... Only to go another sign. "Want me to take a crack at it?" he finally offered. "I've caught one of these buggers myself before. They're always causing trouble. One of them stole food from one of my young'in Pokemon, before my Charizard fucked it up six ways to Sunday"
The blonde kid spoke up and mentioned his Charizard. *Well.. maybe he can be useful* Tilting his head towards him, he pointed at the Pikachu "Yea. Preferably use that there. If I fight this thing anymore, I may end up smashing it into the ground." Growling and grinding his teeth, he turned his attention back to the annoying squirrel like Pokemon. It was chattering at him. Getting an absolute kick out of annoying him. Laugh while you can you little rat, echoed through his head, half-way tempted to just have Steelix bury it so deep that it'll turn to a diamond. His options were exhausted when the Pokemon became ballsy enough to actually shock Daxton. The bolt hit close to his feet, but close enough to give his body a shock. He prepared Lucario to blast it into next week, waiting to see if that boy would handle the pest or not. Being from Team Magma, they may not have killed Pokemon, but they weren't above doing it to a pest.

He watched calmly as the man attempted to take down the parchirisu, only for it to attempt to shock him. Josh let out a sigh. He might as well handle this before the guy kills the poor thing, be decided. And by the looks the guy was giving Parchirisu, it was very likely that he wasn't above killing it at all.
"Lightning" he said calmly, as he looked over at his Pikachu. "Thunderbolt" he commanded.
Lightning nodded. "Pika!" He chirped in affirmative as his cheeks sparked. "Pika... CHUUUUUU!" He let out as a large array of electricity would barely miss Parchirisu. While electric type attacks did little to Pachirisu, even a wild Pokemon could tell when an attack was incredibly strong, and it had a feeling that the next attack would be even tougher.
For safetys sake, it would decide to take off into the woods and just come back later when the dumb Pikachu was gone. Josh cracked his neck and patted Lightning's head. "Good job there" he said with a small smile. "Your attacks seem to get stronger every single day"
Daxton looked over to the kid and his Pikachu and nodded his head some. "Thanks. Didn't think I could take anymore of that thing's shit." Shaking his head some, he got over the little zap and looked up at the boy. "What were you doing in the game corner. Everyone knows that those places are scams." Well, the kid had to come from somewhere, and that was the only place he could've come from.. the boy also looked irritated. He scrunched his nose some at the sign and looked down at his Lucario, who was giving a low growl to the place. Giving him a solid pat, he reassured him that they would get no trouble from that place's crowd.
Mauville wasn't exactly Daxton's place of choice to hangout, but when he needed to... he lived with it. What got him though, was why this kid was in there, hanging around that drunken rabble of dumbasses and buffoons. He seemed a little brighter than that, and his Pikachu's power showed him that the kid also wasn't a pushover. So why? Maybe he just got tricked into it.. one of his weaknesses? Just like how Daxton had a weakness to strawberry sundaes....... those were so good.

By that tone, Josh wouldn't be surprised if they had just saved the Pachirisu's life. He didn't care to think about what he had done, had the blonde not stepped in.
He then made an inquiry about Josh's trip to the Game Corner and the blonde let out a sigh in irritation. He knew it was a scam, just knew it. "I'm not from here" he said flatly, shaking his head. "I'm relatively new to the region, haven't lived here very long and never did get to tour or get information on Mauville last I was here before I had to hit the road. This time I decided to and an idiot friend of mine texted me saying to try out the game corner" he explained. "Needless to say, it didn't take me long to realize it was a scam" he growled irritably.
Daxton let out a dark chuckle at the fact that he was new to this region. "That should've been a given to me from the start." This kid was obviously a trainer, so he should know this already. "You know that when you go to a new reason.. it's always a good idea to know where the professor is.... so you can get directions... ...." Auxru walked over to the other trainer and stood up, sniffing towards the Pikachu, investigating the newcomer. Tilting his head some and sniffing some more, he backed off some... only to sit down and stare back up towards the other Pokemon. Daxton was already shaking his head and looked towards the trainer. "Auxru, knock it off. It's a damn Pikachu, not an alien." On command, the Lucario lowered it's head some and barked at Daxton, letting him know that he didn't care and that he was gonna get the scent of the new stranger one way or another.

He chuckled a bit and nodded. "Met a few but never have gotten directions. I tend to just find my own way around, eventually" he said, giving a casual shrug. "Its how I survived back home. And still doing well here even if I have problems with things like the Scam Corner. I learn from experience, good and bad" he said.
Lightning meanwhile was intruiged, in terms of the Lucario that had been smelling him. Lightning, of course was smart enough to know it was natural and didn't seem to care much, even when the Trainer would scold the Lucario for it. "Pika?" He chirped, blinking. The blue bandana on his neck blew in the wind as the Pikachu looked out into the trees, always wary of danger.
Where was he from? Well... that was an interesting question... not. "Odd, I'm never asked that one." He said to his self sarcastically. "I'm from Dewford Town, family owned a farm out there... island is bigger than it looks to. Nothing much there but some caves, a gym and that it's an island with some good surfing waves." With an hand up, he pointed at Lucario and dropped it. "Fine, do what you want, just stop giving me that look. Ok?"
With that, the contented Lucario went back over to the Pikachu and stood up on his hind legs, staring him down. "My master isn't always that rude to me, don't mind him. He's just frustrated with that Pachirisu... My name is Auxru, what's your name.. little, tiny Pokemon." He tilted his head some, looking at the Pikachu still.
*I've always wondered what Pokemon say to each other.. probably talk shit about me behind my back.* Giving up on that thought, he looked to the other trainer. "The real question is.. where are you from?" There was no guessing, but he does say that his way of tackling a new region is a good one. Great way of finding more places and getting some more training in to strengthen up your team and yourself.

"Huh, been to Dewford a few times" he said, leaning against the wall casually. "I met some kid that was rather.... Off. His name was Danny, I think. He spoke really oddly and he had a fondness for crossdressing and wearing coconut bras. He then hit on a couple of MILFs and their kids tried to murder him with squirt guns. I had to have my Gyarados hide him by pretending to eat him, when I felt bad" he said, sighing. "I don't think he understood that I was trying to help, judging by his reaction. I mean, he kinda deserved the death threats from the kids, and the squirt guns, and being eaten, especially since his first words to me were basically an insult, and he didn't help himself after, not to mention he pissed off my Charizard... But eh. He's still alive. I don't know if that's fortunate or unfortunate" he said with a casual shrug.
The Pikachu would look over at the Lucario when it spoke. Of course, when the Pikachu answered, all Josh would be able to hear were repeated uses of the words "Pika" "Pika-Pi" and "Pikachu"
"Your Master seems like the temperamental type, I'd watch for him so he doesn't hurt himself" Lightning said, though only the Lucario could understand. "My name is Lightning, a Pikachu. My Trainer saved my life when I was a baby, so I've been tagging along on his shoulder ever since" he introduced, tilting his head at the Lucario.
To the man's question, Josh tilted his own head. "Me?" he asked. "Far off region. Probably never heard of it. Was called Kotaku" he said, he didn't really want to go into detail on the Kotaku region... Nor about it's not exactly well known... Mutant problem.
*Hmmm.. Leave it to Dewford to have those weird kids... It never fails to hear about that at least once. That's why he stayed away from everyone, they simply weren't worth the trouble. Definitely weren't worth the waste of time that they were... and still are.* "Those two probably stayed on the island and reproduced. I told them to stay out of the fucking gene pool." He looked at the ground for some time and eventually looked back up at the boy. "Well, your team sounds formidable." He spoke simply, sizing up this kid as he revealed what sounded like his entire team... he couldn't be sure.. but he knew he had a Pikachu, Charizard and a Gyarados...
"I try my best to look out for him, but actually, he's very aware and usually makes good decisions. That Pachirisu though, made him angry cause he couldn't do anything within his power to get it to stop annoying everyone." Lowering his head some, he looked back up at the Pikachu. "Rescued? Those are always nice stories. My master stepped on my tail when I was a Riolu... his father caught me and gave me to him. His dad's Jolteon was frightening." Auxru shuddered at the memory of that ferocious Pokemon.
"Kotaku region... hmm.... " He thought hard on it and shook his head, unsure if he'd heard of it or not. "I'm not sure if I've heard of it or not."

He smirked a bit at the muttering, but didn't comment on it or the denizens of Dewford. "Aye, I suppose they are" he said with a small smile at mention to his team. "Since I've mentioned a few of my Pokemon, might as well show the ones I have with me" he said as he started picking Pokeballs from his belt.
"Yep, rescued!" Lightning chirped to the Lucario. "You see, we had some uh... Mutant issues with wild Pokemon in my old home, when I was just a few weeks old. My mother uh... Didn't make it. Josh found me cold and dying next to her corpse, since I was forced to play dead to keep them from going after me next. He nursed me back to health and we've traveled together ever since. I don't usually like to leave his side if I can help it, and I give him a hard time when he tries to return me to my Pokeball, so he usually just lets me stay out and ride along with him all the time" he revealed. "I've never actually seen a Jolteon in person before..." he admitted.
Meanwhile, Josh let out the rest of his Pokemon. A Charizard, the same one he had mentioned, was obviously healthy, but it's most defining feature was the fact it was much larger then normal. 8 feet tall, to be exact. Seems Danny had a hard time if he pissed this one off. Then there was a Wartortle, also imposing, even if recently evolved. Next was a Typhlosion, who seemed to be a bit bigger then average as well. Whoever this blonde Trainer was, he seemed to be good at keeping his Pokemon healthy. Then of course, was the Gyarados he had talked about, red in color and it's scales glimmering as the giant was loosed from it's Pokeball. And finally, an oddly colored yet powerful looking Blaziken, who seemed to be a veteran of sorts to the team.
"I doubt you've heard of it" he admitted. "It's... Quite a ways away. A LONG ways away"
He crossed his arms and sized up the team put in front of him. That Charizard looked well set and stout. The muscles were well built and it's wings seemed set on it's back pretty well. Moving onwards, he looked at the Wartortle. It didn't seem to used to standing like that yet, so he must have just evolved it. Although it was new to it's new stance, it seemed like it was stout and stalworthy. Nicely built and very healthy. Next... that Typhlosion... and just like the others.. he was well built and taller than most, very healthy and his coat seemed to be battled adjusted, definitely not a show Pokemon. Both the Gyarados and the Blaziken were off in color. The Gyardos's scales were in good alignment and the Blaziken's feathers were just the same and were very shimmery, typical of a fire type. "Very nice Pokemon you have there. I'd be glad to show you mine, but we'd have to move upwards to a more desolate part of the city." This kid didn't seem half bad... and the grown man wasn't afraid of him. His Pokemon were powerful and so were the kid's... but this kid probably wouldn't attempt to bring him down, as long as he didn't know that he was with Team Magma.
"I'm sorry to hear about that... I never knew my parents.. they both disappeared while they were nesting me in the fields.... But I don't look back on that. Master tells me that the past should only fuel me to try harder. And your master seems like a nice guy, I hope my master will get along with this one.. and not act like he does." Looking down, he huffed and looked back up at the Pikachu. "Nice scarf by the way."
"No.. I've only gone to two other regions besides this one... With my occupation.. I don't leave much." Looking down again, he cursed his self. This kid was likable. Maybe he could trust him.. maybe

He smiled faintly and nodded a bit in response. "Thank you. I'd love to see your team" he said, curious as to what this guy had... Why did he get the feeling he was a fire type specialist just as he was?
The Pikachu nodded. "He takes good care of us, so I couldn't be much happier. I hope they get along too, I can't control protective impulse when fights break out"
He looked down at his scarf. "Thanks. He gave me this when I was a baby because I'd steal his. I haven't been apart from it since" he explained. "There's a lot of history in this scarf"
"I've been to... Maybe 4 or 5 regions?" He said, shrugging. "Not many, but hey let us move up so we can see your Pokemon!" He said.
