Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Region: Johto
Class: Gym Leader
Occupation: Goldenrod Gym Leader (Normal-Type Specialist), Actress
Rank: Pokemon League - Gym Leader
APPEARANCE
Description: Whitney is a normal looking girl, save for the fact that she's totally cute (don't you forget it!). Standing at 5'4, Whitney could be considered petite as her frame was quite small but she made up for it in curves. She was considerably top-heavy too, which Whitney blames (or thanks) Moo-Moo milk for and received quite a bit of attention because of. Both her eyes and hair were a perfectly matching bubblegum pink, and the latter she always kept in girlish pigtails, a stubborn throwback to her childhood. Her eyes themselves were quite expressive, large and childlike in nature; Whitney could pull off a convincing pout and wibble. Her nose was small and round, and often a reddish color in pigment whenever she blushed or became flustered.
Apparel: Whitney chose sporty and cute styles over anything she thought too "busy" or impractical for her tastes. She loved the new city life but she never forgot about life on the farm and the simplicity stayed with Whitney, who liked breezy short-shorts and softball jerseys over frilly dresses and heels. Not that Whitney was exactly a tomboy; she still loved pink as it was her favorite color. Small, form-fitting tees weren't uncommon and neither were skirts. If she wasn't feeling sneakers, Whitney sported flats, in a variety of bright colors that still looked cute but allowed her to get around without a broken ankle. In the colder weather, Whitney wore a simple pair of fit jeans, boots and a fluffy, pink sweater that allowed her to stay warm even in extremely chilly conditions.
PERSONALITY
Personality: Whitney is a supercharged young girl with plenty of energy and mouth to give (just don't make her cry)! Friendly but spunky, Whitney prefers the brighter side of things and doesn't have patience for those who disagree with her opinions and views, flaring her temperamental and fragile emotions. She didn't intend to be a drama queen but she had a habit of acting on her feelings immediately as they came, and her thoughts, to an extent. This impulse was simply her immaturity, which she denied very strongly whenever brought up by her superiors. Whitney wasn't exactly hot-headed but she could be argumentative and protective over her feelings and was extremely stubborn to prove her point, making sure she "knew what she was talking about" and was plenty "mature".
On the other side of the spectrum, Whitney could be incredibly sweet and perky, the one to say the perfect thing to cheer up a bummed friend. She valued it greatly, sometimes taking it to the extreme once she obtained your number. Whitney loved technology and would message her friends plenty over her Pokegear about anything, quite literally. Anything she was feeling, anything she felt mattered enough to be said, Whitney would send it with no apology. The same excitement was applied to her team, which she cared for like her own little babies; especially her Fafa and Buff-Buff. Whitney recognizes the cuteness of her team and the underestimating that came along with it, but she stubbornly hopes to prove cuteness and toughness can mix and mix well. In battle, Whitney tends to bring herself up over her opponent by assuming they will think her team weak. She uses her cuteness and their own to fool them and surprise them by their sheer power. Once she starts losing, Whitney begins falling down in a trip of whining and sniffling that her cutie Pokemon are being hurt, even sometimes calling them back so as to not let harm come their way.
Ambitions: Whitney knows she has options but isn't exactly the best decision maker. She had been selfish before but isn't sure what she truly wants now. She likes acting and the recognition that comes with it, but feels uncertain on its future. Battling is her passion and being Gym Leader to her is awesome, but bums out on the responsibility that comes with the position. In a way, she feels it's her calling and plans on becoming closer with her fellow Johto-League leaders to protect the quality and enjoyment out of battling. Maybe one day down the line she hopes to something of a champion herself, maybe with a cute guy at her side, too. Her main goal is to make something out of herself so she's not forgotten, something she can be remembered for.

HISTORY
History: Whitney was born within the fields surrounding Goldenrod City where she was first exposed to the rustic farm life and her precious Miltank. It wasn't long after her family moved inwards towards the city where as she aged into adolescence, her popularity expanded and like the city seemed to mimic her in growth, excitement built and energy gathered. With her spunky yet perky personality, it wasn't hard to make friends, even if she became the leader within her group of friends. Whitney felt comfortable and settled within her new city home, but she longed for stardom, a childhood dream that contrasted with her early days of softball in the dirt. Her girlfriends told her about the Radio Tower and its broadcasts, known all through Johto and beyond. There she met DJ Mary, the woman who was the heart of it all. It was through her friendship with DJ Mary (the radio host at the Radio Tower) that Whitney started her acting career, all at a young age. Not long after, those battles in National Park paid off when the Pokemon League recognized Whitney for her early grit and refusal to accept defeat in battle. The League initiated her into their ranks in person, as Gym Leader of Goldenrod City. Not only was she in charge of a girly, gossipy Gym (that she decorated herself) she could battle in whenever, but she could also close it when she chose to, too. She became an irresponsible and unfocused Gym Leader over time, which is why she fought so poorly against Misty at the Indigo Plateau. Whitney also developed an amusing, quarreling sibling-like relationship with the trainer Gold, travelling with him to compete in the Pokeathlon Dome nearby. Present in the stands, she watched him win course after course until a random, rogue Dragonite began destruction onto the Dome, forcing Whitney and everyone else to flee and watch helplessly as it fell to the ground in rubble.
Perhaps on her own accord or with her parent's words in her head of improving herself, the bubblegum-haired Gym Leader branched out from her Gym a bit, but not past Johto's borders. Unlike the selfish shopping sprees in the department store, she longed for something a bit more personal that would help her battle better and prove herself to her fellow Gym Leaders that she wasn't just a silly brat that got her position out of luck and not skill. She knew this meant putting her acting career on the back-burner for a bit, but being a people person, Whitney could always find ways to promote herself on her little journey.

Role play Sample: Another hour had passed, another snot-nosed kid had walked out from the frilly and perfumed Goldenrod Gym with the Plain Badge clenched in their hand, soon to be displayed in some stupid case. The air of the gym had returned to once of rest, for the last trainer had exited to (hopefully) heal their Pokemon back to pristine health. Whitney sat only a few inches from the door, as the gym trainers were gathering their things to leave. "Only 3 wins to 7 loses today, that's not good enough! Ugh, I must be doing something wrong. Mil-Mil was really ready this morning, too, and it all fell apart!"
A long day started out decently enough with a point for Whitney but soon crashed into a series of losses in which Whitney seemed to be losing her grip, her "bind" with Miltank, the sole Pokemon she relied on for victory. One or two badges was nothing to make a stir over but with records to show for, Whitney had no way of lying. She was doing poorly and she needed to figure out why, maybe rediscover herself perhaps. Her female friends gave her few words of comfort, mostly because they knew she was simply being melodramatic, but it was better than nothing, lest she break out in tears. Her mood went south whenever she started losing, specifically within the walls of her Gym. Elsewhere was more mellow but she took it personally when she had to hand over a Plain Badge. As the rest of the gym trainers cleared out, Whitney stood up to lean by a recovering Miltank; she had done great in battle but she could only give out so much and then take it. The bovine Pokemon gave its owner an apologetic look and released a soft trill of "Miiil."
"Don't sweat it, Mil-Mil. There's always tomorrow."
