The person at the door, as it turned out, was Akira. She had just finished exploring the city not too long ago and she was resting in the Pokemon Center when she heard someone mention a place that sells various stones, up to and including the various Evolution Stones used for evolving Pokemon. At first, she had no interest in it. She didn't have any Pokemon that needed a stone to evolve. But then she remembered Yumi mentioning that she needed a stone to evolve her Vulpix. To say that Akira had developed a bit of a crush on Yumi would be like saying "Wailord is kinda large"; a huge understatement. As such, even the mere thought of being able to give a Fire Stone to her as a gift was enough to make the girl blush brightly.
In any case, she entered Stone Emporium and looked around...just in time to see what looked like flower petals fly pretty much everywhere. She watched on as they seemed to completely engulf the store, leaving one girl literally buried in them. Even she wasn't spared, as, by the time it had finally died down, she had several of them in her hair and clothes. Seriously though, what the hell just happened? As far as she could tell, it didn't seem to be caused by any Pokemon. Either way, whoever was in charge of cleaning this store was probably going to have a stroke...thank Arceus it had nothing to do with her. Of course, she still needed her Fire Stone, so she tried to get someone attention, though, suddenly, she wasn't so sure what to do once she had it "...um...is...this a bad time? I can come back later..."

%#@?!
◥
The abrupt explosion of petals wasn't unforeseen only by Prisca, but also by her lavender-haired companion, and the unaware newcomer poking her head in at the most precise moment. All Evangeline could do in the face of such a startling catastrophe was duck, while watching the brunette be consumed by pink in slow motion. She hid behind the counter until the initial outburst had passed, and didn't come out even after it was well over.
It was only when she did come out of her hideout, and not a single second sooner, that Evangeline decided it was safe to look up. When she did, she found a young girl standing underneath the threshold, about to walk back out of the shop. "No, no!" she protested, alarmed at the potential loss of the petal-sprinkled customer. "I, um... We... Welcome to the Stone Emporium, where you will find evolution stones for all your evolutionary needs!"
Evangeline's mouth opened, closed, opened again, in unsuccessful attempts to conjure her subsiding voice. "Is there... Is there anything I could help you with?" she asked the dark-haired teen staring at the whole scene in front of her, although her own sight was fixed on Prisca's sinking body, as were her thoughts. She was trying to contain the physical need to check up on the fallen brunette as much as she could. Well, shit.
Having suffered from a mild case of petal burial, Prisca lay still under the pile for a second processing what had just happened. Blinking carefully, she began clawing her way out of the petals, one hand holding onto the pokeball as she lurched upwards. With all the elegance of a belly-flopping wailord, she exploded out of the pile, coughing lightly as some of the petals tickled her nose.
Not noticing the newcomer right behind her, Prisca looked herself over. Once she made sure she want hurt besides some red around the knees (probably carpet burn?), she looked at Evangeline, opening her mouth to say something before noticing a look of shock. Following her line of vision, she turned to the door and saw the new arrival, and have a small inward grimace.
Trying to make up for putting the lavender-haired cutie in this slightly awkward position, Prisca giggled nervously and waved her in. No, it's not a bad time! I, umm, just had a slight mishap with a contest ball and stuff~! I'll clean this up in a minute, sorry about getting petals...everywhere!"
Standing up out of the pile of petals she walked over to Eve and whispered, smiling while pulling a petal out of Eve's hair. Sorry about that! You have some garbage bags I could use? I'll clean this up right away~.

you can't be fucking serious
◥
Having a mountain of pink petals very unneatly piled on the Emporium's porcelain floor and another gush of them floating all over the place was enough of a problem, but now Prisca insisted on cleaning it up for her? Dear Arceus. She shifted from the black-haired newcomer to the more familiar face of the brunette, a slight scowl tugging at the sides of her brows. "Of course not," she said, emphatically, as her eyes widened with a severity unusual in them.
"I am so thankful you'd go to these lengths to help me, Pris, but I am responsible for all that has happened, and I am so very sorry you had to go through this because of my carelessness." Evangeline's hands grasped Prisca's forearms for an added layer of intensity, while her eyes were fixed on Prisca's own chocolate orbs. The post-traumatic shock had clearly left her by now, as had the stuttering and furious blush on her cheeks. "I will be the one to clean it up, okay?"
Then, she shifted back to the new girl, ignoring any protests that may follow. Well, she did hope none would follow. With a bright smile, she added, "Please come in! I'll fix this up in a minute, and I'll be back to assist you before you even notice."
Akira could only watch quietly as the scene unfolded, although the girl who was buried in the petals seems to be alright. Not that she seemed to be in any actual danger, of course, but it was still a relief to see her emerge from the pile nonetheless. Akira still couldn't help but wonder what had to have happened for this place to become literally flooded with flower petals, especially since it didn't seem to be the work of a Pokemon. Which was probably a good thing, since the petals from moves like Petal Dance and Petal Blizzard tended to be razor-sharp. Ugh, now she had a rather gruesome mental image. Needless to say, she was thankful it wasn't any worse than it already was...even if she had no clue what just happened.
Either way, when Evangeline spoke, assuring that she'd be taken care of once this mess was dealt with, she nodded "Of course. I'm not in any hurry, so take as much time as you need." Thankfully, Akira wasn't just saying that to be polite. She had plenty of time between now any when she would have a chance to present the stone she planned on buying as a gift to Yumi, especially since, as far as she knew, Yumi was still in Kanto. It was just that, when Akira had a chance to visit Kalos for the first time, she couldn't not take it. She'd be returning soon...but not until she'd had a little more time to explore this new region. Either way, she waited patiently until Evangeline was ready to help her. She was tempted to offer her assistance, but, after seeing how insistent she was when Prisca did the same, she chose not to in order to save the effort.
Although Prisca very rarely refused to help out, the tone of Evangeline's voice, as well as the strength of the lavender-haired girl's grip, showed the traveler just how much it meant for Evangeline to clean up. However she herself also felt at fault for the explosion of petals, and moved her own hands into Evangeline's, holding on just as tightly. "Okay, you can pick up, but at least let me help you a teeny bit, I did kinda pressure you a bit into this~...besides, you can get this done in half the time if you let me volunteer~!"
Feeling bolder than usual, she quickly leaned forward and pecked Evangeline on the check, her face blushing hard and eyes too nervous to meet the clerks' as Prisca continued. "B-besides...I wouldn't want a b-beautiful and f-fun girl to lose her job because of me, no matter how small my part of the blame is, okay?"
In the back of her mind she was slamming herself with the hardest objects in the room, hoping that Evangeline wasn't already taken...especially by a guy. While she had only really read about romance in novels, she had begun crushing on the girl as they had continued talking. For now she had just taken a verrry big leap and she was totally regretting having not thought it through...or thought at all.

skipping beats, blushing cheeks; I am struggling
◥
Everything had been so unexpected; so unexpected and so very quick. Now that Evangeline was sure her new customer wasn't going anywhere, and that Prisca wasn't going to blame herself for the incident with her brand new seal, she could finally exhale the big breath she hadn't even realised she was holding in. She gave herself some time think, first of all. That explosion was definitely not supposed to occur; she would have to go back to the Mart for an item change, or a refund. Truth be told, after today's events, the coordinator was not sure she was still interested in the idea of playing with any more seals in her lifetime.
After allowing herself additional time to relax, Evangeline would be getting to work on that naughty pile of—or maybe not. It seemed Prisca was just as adamant as she was about lifting the blame off the other's shoulders, and that left Evangeline both troubled and moved. She really didn't want to push Prisca into helping her with a matter she was in charge of, but the brunette wanted to help her. Finishing up in half the time did seem like a good deal, too, lest she have her dear second customer waiting for long.
Speaking of which, a second visitor certainly felt like a dream, after having spent all those early morning hours waiting for a cargo of evolution stones that had yet to arrive. Evangeline stole a glimpse at the person in question out of the corner of her eyes. And a seemingly nice, polite one, at that. She was wondering if the dark-haired girl was looking for anything in particular, when sudden movement on the opposite flank surprised her out of her innocent musings.
Prisca's short, beautiful strands of hair appeared to come closer to her face, and didn't stop until they met Evangeline's rosy cheeks. She felt a little ticklish for a second, before the light pressure that had been applied in that zone dissipated, leaving the phantom of a kiss lingering on her skin. One thin layer of eyelashes fluttered shut in response to this piece of intimacy. Had she just...? Evangeline blinked not once, but twice, before her head shifted to look directly into the brunette's eyes. How did that one saying go, again? The eyes were the windows to one's soul, was it?
Well, Evangeline may not like to call herself an expert, but she did have her good share of past romances to know that Prisca was interested in her, and the contest-enthusiast was not free of a sweet, growing fondness of her own. She stared for what felt like hours, though it couldn't possibly have been longer than a couple of seconds. Her lips lingered too close to Prisca's, and her face coloured furiously as she started to become aware of what was happening, before she abruptly broke eye contact.
"The petals," she hastily punctuated, turning on her heels to face the fairy-like mess that needed to be addressed as soon as humanly possible. And also as soon as inhumanly possible. Evangeline glanced back at the dark-haired client that had been waiting on her all this time, curious as to whether or not she had watched their little scene, as she called for the amused Lunatone that had been hanging back throughout the past twenty, twenty-five minutes.
First, though, she had to clear her throat. Arceus forbid her voice break in the middle of a sentence. "Atlas, please." Even though her words did not sound like an order at all, much less a coherent one, the moon-shaped Pokémon was able to understand the wishes of its trainer at once. A pair of brooms was made to levitate in front of her and Prisca, before falling softly onto their hands.
Evangeline got to work immediately, all the while daydreaming about how, one day, her Pokémon would be able to fix a minor disaster such as this using their psychic abilities alone, and successfully relieving all other thoughts to the back of her mind. It didn't take long for laughter to bubble out of her lips as her train of thought was redirected, one last time, to the incident that had taken place not long ago. It was indeed a little funny, once the initial shock had passed by.
The cleaning process, as Prisca had anticipated, took no more than a couple of minutes, with two pairs of hands dedicated to it. She would offer a short but heartfelt "Thank you," and a "Would you, uh, would you like to wait until I'm done?" before hurrying off in the direction of the younger girl. Evangeline was still unsure of how to react to Prisca's display of affection, after having just met, and it showed in her actions.
"Well," she sighed, finally ready to tend to her new customer. There was a lapse of time in which the lavender-haired clerk debated on how to follow her sigh of relief. "Sorry about that," she added at last, a somewhat sheepish smile marring her face. "My name is Evangeline. As you can see, I'm the only clerk for the afternoon. Were you looking for any evolution stones in particular? I think you do. You look like you do."
Evangeline tried to finish her discourse on a more relaxed note, shooting at a dim ray of light in the dark of the night. The dark-haired youth did look anxious about something or other. Hopefully, she would be pleased with a meticulous service and forget all about their earlier... episode, which could very well cost the lavender-haired Kalosian her part-time job.
Akira watched quietly as the two girls went about their business. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the kiss on the cheek. They didn't particularly seem like they were going out, so...maybe it was a spur-of-the-moment thing. Either way, she couldn't help but smile at the way the two of them seemed to react to it. Of course, she was under no delusions that she wouldn't react pretty much the same way if a cute girl did the same to her, but, nonetheless, it was fun to watch. Honestly, Akira couldn't help but muse to herself that they'd make a cute couple.
Eventually, the cleanup was finally done, and Evangeline was finally ready to help her. Under normal circumstances, she might have been a bit annoyed at how long it too for her to finally get some service. Though, what she saw was hardly normal, so she was definitely not going to hold it against her. Regardless, once the questions were asked, Akira nodded. "Yes...I was actually hoping you had a Fire Stone in stock..." Now that she was about to finally get it, Akira could hardly wait to see Yumi again. In fact, she couldn't help but feel a little giddy...though, it would be easy to mistake for mere excitement over being able to evolve a Pokemon.
Gears of fate OOC:Let's see if I didn't break this~!
Prisca had kept decidedly quiet during the clean up, a strong blush and nervous glancing at Evangeline betraying what she was thinking about. Although she hadn't meant to be so bold as to just kiss her, she had! She quietly shook her head wondering just what had gotten into her, completely embarrassed, especially since they had stared staring at each other forever (at least once Prisca's nervously moving gaze had meet Evangeline's stare). She too had blushed before slightly jumping as Evangeline broke their gaze and reminded her (and herself) of the petals to be cleaned.
Now that they were finished though, she had let out a teeny "S-stay? Y-yeah, sure~, I'll be here..." before moving away to a different area and blushing harder every time her eyes wandered to Evangeline or Atlas, still surprised she had gone for it so boldly.
Evangeline was so pretty though...and Prisca doubted that she would have done anything differently had she been allowed to try again. The thought only made that glow on her cheeks rise even more as she busied herself with a dawn stone that was on display.

hanging in the air like bright gems, pretty gems
◥
"Fire Stones? Of course." Seeing the younger girl smile so brightly, grinning even, Evangeline couldn't help the one that was starting to form in her own lips, tugging at them. She dexterously flipped around, a casual parade of her finesse, before resuming with another string of questions. "Who are you thinking of using this on, mademoiselle? A Growlithe? A Pansear, perhaps?" the lavender-haired clerk asked, as she gestured for the dark-haired girl to follow her to a display just a few steps from where they had been, a full set of neatly arranged stones of all colours, shapes and sizes sitting prettily on it.
On the very top were three stones of a beautiful shade of amber, each of them horizontically separated from the other by a thick layer of safety glass. "These are the smallest we have in stock. Perfect for a travelling trainer, if you ask me." Evangeline briefly glanced in the girl's direction then, wondering what she thought of the stones she was being shown.
"Oh! But, if you're looking for something less practical, we have some more over there," added the female clerk and freelance model, raising her arm to point in the direction of... Prisca. No, a little farther to the left. Yes, just a little more. Evangeline's gloved hand pointed at the imposing display case positioned beside the one Prisca was inspecting. Inside, a pair of tiny spot lights illuminated one single stone the size of a Cleffa.
Okay good, they had some. She was a little worried, simply because the four "basic" Evolution Stones (Fire, Water, Leaf and Thunder) tended to be the most common, so it was hard to tell whenever a shop like this might have one. Before coming to Kalos, she had stopped by the Celadon Deptment Store, since she knew they at least sold those, and they were completely out. So she was happy to find one here...especially since she didn't particularly know where else to go to find one. Then came the question about who it was for. At which point her face turned beet-red, since her mind immediately went straight to Yumi.
"Er...a-actually. It's a gift...for a friend of mine. T-to repay her for something she did for a not long ago." Though she didn't outright say it, it was rather obvious. With the way her face turned red and how she stuttered, her response practically screamed "Oh by the way, I have a massive crush on this person". Unfortunately, Akira was terrible at hiding her feeling when it came to something like this, even when the subject came up indirectly, like it did here. Either way, when Evangeline proceeded to show her the giant Fire Stone...and wait was that actually a thing? Admittedly, it was a little tempting. But it looked a little heavy, so she decided against it "As amusing as that would be, I think I'll be content with one of the smaller ones, if that's alright...kinda wish I had known about this when I evolved my Staryu, though"

moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars
◥
A blush. A blush and a stutter. A blush as radiant as a blooming rose, and a stutter surely as anxious and pure as a virgin's sentiments. Evangeline felt—saw—her lavender strands fall gracefully to a side as she tilted her head, a small smile in place. This girl was adorable. The clerk scrambled for an air of professionalism, of formal severity, despite her unfaltering smile. She didn't quite make it, but nevertheless said, quite honestly, "Whoever this friend may be, I'm sure she will love it."
The petals incident now shelved somewhere in the depths of her mind, even if she remained as conscious as ever of the presence of the tall brunette down the aisle, Evangeline was able to relax at last. "And I'm not saying this just to have you buy something!" she added, a little more playfully this time. She listened to her customer's final decission and, with a court nod, proceeded to lead her back to the counter.
A short laugh was due at the girl's comment about her Staryu's evolution. "I wouldn't recommend stones of that size for an actual evolution. Can't begin to imagine the amount of unnecessary strain that would be carrying around a stone like that. Our customers mainly purchase them as home decor." It was true. While this was Evangeline's first day working in the Emporium, she had been lucky enough to be allowed inside quite a few of the most luxurious houses in the city, and she couldn't remember even one that didn't show off a stone as big as the Fire Stone from before, if not bigger.
"That will be •30, sweetheart. Would you like it wrapped up?" But Evangeline didn't even give her enough time to reply. The classic figure of a gift box materialised in front of the dark-haired girl, seemingly out of nowhere. One moment the clerk's hands had been empty, devoid of anything but thin air, and now the box was simply there, sitting unsealed in front of her, as if inviting the whole world in. Not just anything would fit inside the small container, however.
Evangeline gave her Lunatone, perhaps long forgotten because of the series of events that had taken place in the immediate past, a sidelong glance, before returning her attention to the girl whose name she still hadn't caught. One of the stones they had been looking at slowly made its way to the opened white box, levitating as Atlas, once again, approached its lavender-haired trainer. With expert hands, she closed it, not before letting her customer take a good look at it, and tied a golden lace around it. "Anything else, ma chérie?"
Akira's face was still fairly red as the rather pretty clerk reassured her that the person she was buying the gift for would love it, then jokingly added that she wasn't just saying that to score a purchase. The girl smiled and nodded "I hope so." Akira knew she might be jumping the gun by buying Yumi a gift like this. For all she knew, she might not even need a Fire Stone anymore by the time she sees her again. Of course, it was pretty much too late to do anything about it now. At this point, all she could do was hope she still needed one.
Either way, she then blinked as Evangeline went on to explain how it would be impractical to buy one of the large ones simply to evolve a Pokemon, and how they were mostly just used as home decor. "Ahh...that makes sense, I guess." After that, everything went without a hitch. Akira's stone was placed in a box and wrapped up in a golden ribbon, at which Evangeline told her what the price was. Admittedly, better than she expected. When asked if she needed anything else, she smiled and shook her head "No, this is perfect. Thank you very much." Then, once she had the box and paid for the stone, she'd take her leave, waving good-bye to both Evangeline and Prisca as she left.
Waving at the girl as she left, Prisca came out from behind the displays, having been trying as much as possible to remain out of sight from Evangeline after that peck she had given the clerk...and also slightly dreading what she might say now that the customer she had been attending had finished the transaction and left. Having nothing more to effectively hide behind now, the brunette stepped up to the counter, eyes nervously roving about the store as her mind reminded her of the fact she had kissed this girl no less than an hour from having met.
Nervously playing with her fingers, Prisca waited for Evangeline to say something, although the silence barely stretched out for a few seconds before she blurted out a quick "I-I'm sorry I k-kissed you like that, I don'tknowwhatgotoverme!" her blush hardening as she spoke. She looked down as she ended, too nervous and embarrassed to say anything and honestly wishing she could crawl under the largest evo stone in the shop and die.

then came the dreaded aftermath
◥
After her first successful purchase of the morning, Evangeline had started to forget all about the little blunder Prisca and she had provoked just a bit earlier in the day. She waved the younger trainer goodbye, her sight lingering on the closed door for a little longer than necessary. Or she was starting to forget. That is, until the brunette emerged from behind one of the display cases, one long string of barely intelligible words of apology following after her appearance.
"Oh," she breathed out, finally hitting her that Prisca was as embarrassed about what had happened as she herself was, if not more. "Non, sweetheart. You did nothing wrong; please do not apologise." Evangeline's lips remained shut afterwards, a thin, straight line of nervous uncertainty. She subconsciously fiddled with her hands, her hair, her skirt, until, finally, the smile that so commonly adorned her face returned to her lips. Her irises, until then busy wandering the shop, looking everywhere, at everything but the girl with whom she was talking, settled back on the brunette's own.
"After all, who in their right minds wouldn't like a kiss from a beauty?"
