The sun was sinking close to the treetops as Alex led her team to a new spot to search. There was a stillness to the air that Alex was just more agitated by. Her last find had been just flat out aggravating. As they settled in to begin searching this final location she hoped there was more than just disappointment to be found among the stones and trees. With a rather terse order, she sent her Pokemon out to scout around the area, Polizi waiting diligently. The Furfrou kept glancing up at his trainer with a sad look on his face. He knew they’d been letting her down with the finds they had uncovered. Feeling the canine looking at her, Alex looked down at him and let out a sigh. She knew she was being harsh on them, and gave the dog a reassuring pat on the head. “I know it is not your faults, Polizi. I am just tired, and there will be a long trip to the park tomorrow after we check on Vincent to make up for this.” Polizi brightened up considerably at her words, eagerly running off as soon as one of his teammates gave a call.

The new item her Pokemon had uncovered only served to further her aggravation more. Surely she had not found all of the strange stones this area held. With a very annoyed sigh, she tossed the old statue aside before giving her Pokemon a stern look. “I know this can be tough, but these things are not doing us any good.” She tried to keep the anger out of her tone. There was no way for them to be doing this intentionally, so Alex needed to keep calm when dealing with them despite how she felt about the finds they made.

Another short order was all it took to send her three scouts off searching for places to dig. It took a while longer than it had been taking them to find anything. Alex merely spent the extra time trying to calm her thoughts. Finally one of them gave the signal they’d found something, and Polizi dutifully took off to uncover the object.

At last luck seemed to be on her side. Polizi triumphantly uncovered another of the interesting stones and delivered it to Alex with the biggest grin on his face. With all three of the stones safely tucked into her jacket, she returned Polizi and Ty to their balls. Cannelle and Marlow would follow Alex on foot as they trekked their way out of the ruins. It would take a while to get back to town, and they all needed to eat as soon as they returned home. That alone would make it past dark before they had any free time. Alex would have to take the stones to Vincent the next day. With how ill he was previously it was quite likely that he was already in bed getting some needed rest. He had already pushed himself to help with the case she had opened, so she would rather not push him more when he needed rest.
