Having managed to find a rather interesting stone, Alex decided they’d continue searching for more objects of potential value instead of heading home at this time. This time though, she was going to change how things were done a bit. Instead of sending both Ty and Polizi out to find and dig up items, she sent Ty, Marlow, and Cannelle out to find potential spots to dig. Polizi was to remain sitting beside her until one of the other three found a promising location. Alex made sure to send Marlow in a direction with relatively flat ground to reduce risk of injuring himself further.

After a few minutes of letting them search, Cannelle let out a barking cry. Knowing that was the signal the she’d found something worth investigating, Alex gave a sharp whistle. Ty and Marlow quickly regrouped with her as the Furfrou took off to begin digging in the spot the silvery Eevee found.

Cannelle’s first attempt at finding a treasure spot was less than impressive. As the Furfrou dug furiously at the location, it was very quickly obvious that the Eevee had not found another shiny stone. It was an odd object though, and one that seemed more like a rock to the fluffy canine than anything else. Polizi thought it looked like a bone of some sort though, so he scooped the thing up between his teeth and made his way back to Alex. He didn’t have much faith she’d be interested in the item, seeming rather glum as he dropped the object at her feet.

Alex didn’t even need to pick up the object to know it wasn’t what she was after. It was a dome fossil; not something she was particularly interested in, even as something to collect. “Alright everyone, back to searching.” The trainer gave another whistle and the three scouts went back out to scour for more spots to dig. Polizi merely sat at Alex’s side, letting out a soft whine as he waited.

This time when Cannelle gave out her signal she’d found something, things were looking up for the group’s luck. Polizi dashed over at the sound of the rather excited Eevee, the other two scouts regrouping again with Alex. It wasn’t long before the Furfrou was digging away at the spot, Cannelle trying to help between his flying paws. Her efforts did little aside from get her bandages dirty, and she ran back to their trainer while the other dog finished digging.

Quickly snatching up the uncovered stone, Polizi knew Alex would be pleased with this find. It was another stone like the one they’d found before, but this one had different colors. Prancing back to the rest of the group, he gladly deposited the shiny stone in the human’s outstretched palm and awaited the praise.

“Good job everyone,” she gladly chirped as she pocketed the new stone, “Ty and Marlow, go back to scouting while I change Cannelle’s bandages.”
