Ambitions: There is little Regina wants more then to simply spread the good word amongst trainers out there - busy doing there thing! However, when it comes to her long term goals, there is but one thing Regina truely wants. And that is to gather the rarest and snazziest pokemon around and host the greatest pokemon based show in history, bringing one heck of an amazing bit of entertaining to the masses. In her own twist of the League, she wishes to become the de-facto Pokeshowwoman Master for each Region. History What is it that a very megalomaniacal person once said? Everybody wants to rule the world. Some people form a big, bad, nasty team and do their best to steal everyone's precious companions whilst wreaking havoc and doing generally terror-y things. Some win with charisma and vie for the votes of the locals in their given region. Some join the League and become part of the Elite Four ( I mean hey, you're on top at that point), whilst Regina went for a far more methodical approach. Ever since her youth, as a young student at the age of 7, she'd come home and do whatever she had to do ... but for the love of Arceus, turn the radio on! She could not stand not having a bit of music to pass her time, and before long that bled into her interests. It was music that incidentally lead to her attaining her first pokemon, ironically enough given to her as a gift by her grandfather. Absol was an unusual choice for a starting pokemon, anyone would agree. However that story was both an inside joke amongst her eccentric family and odd bit of therapy for her. As a young child, she was terribly insecure. Most family get-togethers were a rather sordid affair that got her all wound up, and with no shortage of stress she would attend them wherever the family would host them. It was during one such family get-together (Conveniently? Hosted at her home!) that her little nephew caught a little listen of her clarinet music, which he openly mocked her for, calling it the worst disaster to ever befall the region. In order to help raise her spirits, decided to use this insult to his advantage. Once Regina had been alone and moping over the whole ordeal, he regaled her with one of his usual stories about travelling the world as a Pokemon Collector. Giving her a pokeball, he informed her that it was the last pokemon he had ever captured - an absol that had been creating a raucous not too far away from the hotel he'd been staying at. Citing that, logically, if there was a real disaster around, Absol would be able to sniff it right out, he encouraged her to continue working on her music and refuse to allow anyone to dissuade her from her subjects of interest. Nicknaming the absol Louis, in honor of her grandfather, she quickly found the opportunity to begin raising the wild pokemon properly. He was a brute, that was for certain. Quite displeased with being captured and thankfully mellowed slightly from his time in the ball. Her approach to raising him was progressional: She started off distant, feeding the mean guy and occasionally throwing the ball around, then finally she found something they did share in common! And what do you know? It happened to be music! For it was one quiet weekend that she came up to her room and decided to practice her singing, music blaring. Louis clearly took a liking to this, because he eventually began to mimic her and try singing along from time to time. Music did, indeed, soothe the savage beast, though considering he knew Perish Song - this may or may not have been a horrifyingly bad idea. A few years of bonding later - and it was about time to pull herself together and actually capture her first pokemon. An exciting affair for the equally excitable teen, she set off on her own little expedition down the routes until she ran into quite the sight! One of the local hikers, crimson with rage, as his entire backpack was stolen by a wild pokemon. Volunteering to give the man a hand, she set off after it and found herself following Louis, hot on its scent. Coming to a grassy clearing, a pair of hungry eyes stared right at them, and as the two readied themselves - out came a furfrou. She was hardly Regina's prime suspect when one said 'backpack thief', however the half eaten sandwich poking through the bushes and the torn open knapsack was, well, a dead give away. A sneaky creature indeed! And one that used every trick in the book whilst in a pinch. When not nipping at your legs, she was giving the old soulful eyes treatment, which almost lead to her absol's downfall. But, just as the finishing blow was to come, Regina saw the prime opportunity... And netted the furfrou with her third pokeball! Persistent, but she expected little less, she'd caught her first wild pokemon, and it was a keeper. Marie. Now that was a pretty name for the girl. She was certainly miffed about being netted, but a little more cooperative when exposed to her type weakness - oodles of snacks. Thus, she took a liking to the trainer quite quickly, as comfort seemed to be the way to her heart. And those skills! She could work up the doe eyes big time, quite the little actress. She was prime material, especially in conjunction with her Louis! Well. When the two tolerated one another. Naming them here 'troupe', she found herself working on their respective 'arts' just as much as she helped them work on their fighting skills. Time passed, and as she entered her adult, Regina started getting far more serious about her work. She took time to learn the ways of the Dee-Jay, engaged herself in the arts as she took a few clarinet and singing lessons, and even moved to Lumiose City in order to be blessed with the tutelage of a local underground legend DJ Spynets, a freelance radio host that was gathering quite the following around Kalos. There, she put the full use of her radio-knowledge to the test, and after mastering her skills, applied to host for the local city radio station. Her career lasted for a few splendid years, but one stray morning she stepped down from her position as host. But why? Simple! She loved their style and all - but there was a bigger picture here. She could not stop feeling a lingering sense of unfulfillment, which she took as a sign of the ultimate goal of any good wide eyes artist - long distance travel! Deciding to set up her own gig elsewhere, she set off to Nue, a region that came highly recommended to her in her final poll to the general public. She figured it would be a good a place as any to check out first. Of course, to her parents, it was a rather abrupt shock! But particularly supportive, they gave their daughter a few helpful tips (and some money to start off) and sent her on her way with - inevitably - many a future hassle to return. Thus, off it was to Nue, with little research done, a lot of equipment and her fine troupe (yep, she was sticking to that one) of sassy pokemon, it was Regina versus the world. As DJ Queenie, she started to set up her own independent radio station, dedicated to news, music and announcements for the trainer on-the-go. Finally, finally coming up! Oh she had a terrible morning, woke up on the floor by the bed, with her eyes glued shut and bad furfrou breath pelting her face. At least someone was excited to get up at five in the morning, though it was hard to tell whom amongst the two four legged fiends woke up first. Rolling herself out of bed was only the first chore, the second one was going to be actually getting dressed and waking up. She took her time, cereal bowled and milked - she swore she had a jar filled with coffee in her knapsack - somewhere. Travelling always made her hinker for a bit of a wake-up call. She could still taste the crunch of a fresh Lumiose Galette and a warm coffee from the Cafe Action. Her search - and subsequent daydream - was cut off by the beeping of her alarm. Well, damn! Guess time's up. "Marie! Louis! Places, places! Put your game faces on!" It was hard to tell, at times, but she swore those two sometimes understood everything she said. Which frustrated her doubly when she couldn't get their attention. She plopped herself down upon the stool she'd set up by her broadcasting equipment. Everything would take at least five minutes to get going and adjust just right, but the signal was fantastic...providing you were anywhere in the vicinity. Well, one had to hope! After all, she believed there was always someone out there, listening. It was a wonderful mystery in the end. A cable snapped into place, the light turns on red! And with one final jack jacked into place, she heard that ever-ready "Frauf!" that signalled that her two co-hosts were - in fact - at the ready! Now all that was left was to flick the switch and get a real start on the day. With a clarinet at the ready (who doesn't like to make their own jingles) and a boom mike pulled in close, she peered aside and offered a mirthful grin. "Okay, mes chers! Show time." |
