A yawn escaped Gwen's mouth as she headed back into the forest, with her Espurr chattering insistently at her heels. She had indeed returned home fairly close to dawn this morning after her first attempt to seek out the Murkrow she desired, had failed. She had slept most of the morning away, and was up by early-afternoon. She only had a few hours of sleep, but Gwen was known to be stubborn, and she was set on finding one. If she kept popping by the forest, she'd have to find one eventually, anyway.
Vivian meanwhile, was not impressed. She had known Gwen for a long time, and her stubbornness was showing above her sense again. The girl was already out of her mind, being out so late in the forest last night. To come home early, only to set out again after hardly a sufficient amount of sleep? Insanity! "Es! Espurr!" The Espurr fussed at her trainer as she hopped around in front of her.
Gwen paused, looking down to give the Espurr a stern look. The Espurr was being fussy, probably about her coming back out here so early, and the kitten was probably right. Still though, she had no intention of going back, or continuing to tolerate her old friend's behavior. "Viv, I need you to settle down." As much as she knew that the Espurr was just concerned for her, she didn't really want any of it. She let the feline out of her ball for company and stretching her legs. Being mothered was not in the game plan.
Vivian fell quiet and hung her head, defeated. Gwen just continued on with the Espurr following at her heels. Her gaze scanned the area in every which direction as she weaved between the trees, though she favored keeping an eye on the branches that hung above, hoping to spot black feathers or the steely glint of red eyes staring back at her.

The forest was quiet for a very long time. Too quiet really. There was hardly a peep, not even the rushing sound of a possible bird taking flight. It was just, silent. That didn't really bode well. Silence either meant they were looking in the wrong place, or they weren't, and whatever pokemon that lurked about was preparing to pounce. Gwen didn't let the quietness fool her, she kept her attention focused, a little more, focusing extra hard on her hearing. Vivian did the same.
A rustle of leaves was what caught their attention, and thanks to being so alert, Gwen had just enough warning to lean back out of the way as a string shot sailed past her. Gwen immediately turned to face the attacker, and Vivian jumped forward to meet it as well. Looking up, they'd both lay eyes on a Sewaddle. It was rather cute, but, definitely wasn't a murkrow, or any pokemon Gwen was interested in really. That was unfortunate. "Vivian, disarming voice." Gwendolyn instructed.
The Espurr inhaled deeply, and let out a loud caterwaul, which produced a burst of pink energy waves that zeroed in the Sewaddle. Unable to counter the move, the insect fell to the ground where it lay stunned for a brief moment. "Let's go before it recovers." Gwen advised, and they both made a hasty retreat, leaving the bug behind them before they spent too much energy on fighting it off.
After a while, they steadied their pace once more and continued through the forest at a leisurely pace. Gwen continued to keep an eye out for the Murkrow she was bent on finding, though also hoped she might at least encounter something that would fit into her specialty. She knew there were some ghosts at least that dwelled in forests like these, and Stantler were known forest dwellers too. She could only hope that this wouldn't be a wasted day.

As they walked along, Vivian's gaze locked onto a particular bush, that had a number of large blue berries growing off of it. Purring a bit at the find, she ran up to it and grabbed one off the shrub. Unfortunately, the plant seemed to offer some resistance, as it proved difficult to pull. She quickly realized that it wasn't just a matter of it being stuck to the branch, the bush was actually pulling back. Challenged, Vivian pulled harder, then simply let go.
As the Espurr thought, the berry vanished into the otherside of the bush, and something hit the ground with an 'oomph'. Curious, she nosed her way through the foliage, and on the other side, found a Pancham sprawled on the ground, with the berry laying a few feet away from it after it apparently slipped out of the panda's paws. "That was mine." The Espurr huffed, before snatching another berry off the bush.
The Pancham shot upward, and seeing the Espurr take another berry, he quickly rushed over and snatched it out of her paws. "These berries are mine! Go away!" The Pancham snarled shoving the Espurr away with an arm thrust and stuffing the berry in his mouth as he glared down the kitten, waiting for it to get a move on already.
Vivian staggered backward, landing on her rump from the force of the blow. It didn't do much, fighting type moves weren't too devastating to a psychic, but it still made the Espurr's fur fluff up. "Savage! Glutton!" The Espurr huffed indignantly as she got back on her paws. "You don't own the forest." She said, snatching yet another berry, and taking a bite out of it.
The Pancham once again lunged for her as she pilfered another berry, but she had predicted that, and responded by firing a psyshock attack at it point blank. The Pancham cried out as it was knocked backwards by the attack and sent rolling into a tree. Stopping on it's head, it glared back at Vivian before righting itself, though before he could retaliate, he spotted a human coming through the trees.
Gwen had shifted her attention from their surroundings when she noticed her Espurr wander off into the bushes. Concerned she was going to get herself lost, she had followed only to find her having a spat with a wild Pancham. "Giving you a hard time?" Gwen questioned the Espurr with an amused glint in her eye, to which the Espurr responded with a huff and stuck up her nose as if she were to say 'hardly!' "Well, stay focused. Gwen advised.
Vivian turned back to the Pancham, who was charging towards her again, it's claws swinging to slash at her. The Espurr squeaked as claws raked her fur, but the pain only made her more furious and she struck back with her disarming voice. The two would continue to exchange blows, until finally the the Pancham had exhausted it's energy, and fell, panting, still glaring furiously up at the Espurr. Before it could say anything though, a pokeball struck him and the pancham was sucked into a poke ball.
Gwen didn't really think she'd have much use for the little panda, but she also didn't want to walk away from this forest with nothing incase they didn't find anything more appeasing out here. "Nice job Vivian, though I think you're ready for a rest." Gwen said, recalling the Espurr to it's ball, before shifting her gaze back to the shaking ball. Her hand hovered over her next pokemon in case the pancham did manage to break out.
. . . ! Oh no, PANCHAM escaped! Try again, or run away while you can!
(I would suggest elaborating a tad more on how Pancham and Espurr "continued to exchange blows." Feel free to either edit your post or write a new one, and repost a link in the mod summons.)

Shake... Shake... Oh no! It appeared to be caught. Not.
Instead of dinging like a good little poke ball, it burst open, ejecting the pancham back onto the ground where it stood, looking around furiously for Vivian, who was no longer present, only to turn it's glare on Gwen herself. "Pfft! Like some prissy human is going to get me in one of those balls! Where's that pissy Espurr!?" The Pancham demanded furiously.
Gwen looked down upon it, showing little regard to the little tantrum it appeared to be throwing. Instead, she picked another poke ball off her belt, and threw it into the air. "Skyla, fairy wind please." Her Togetic materialized from it's ball, hovering a few feet infront of the Pancham. Flapping it's wings, it sent an airy pink breeze at the worn down Pancham.
The Panda only got more furious, stomping it's feet as it made it's way toward the Togetic, using work up as it foughting through the attack that burned painfully through his fur, more harmfully than one might expect a pretty pink breeze to do. It jumped feebly at the Togetic, trying to slash at it, but the Togetic hovered just out of his reach. "Come down here!" It whined.
Skyla gave the Pancham a piteous look. The creature sure was stubborn, looking so worn and yet still trying to fight. She glanced questioningly back at Gwen, but the trainer simply pointed to the Pancham. "We're capturing this one Skyla. Make sure it stays down." Gwen said as she noticed the Togetic hesitate.
With a resigned look, the Togetic swooped down, and gave the Pancham a surprise smooch on the cheek. It froze for a second, before confusion took hold and it began staggering drunkenly around the brush. Skyla's gaze followed it as it took swings at the air with it's slash attack, not hitting anything in particular. Finally it charged off, only to run head first into a tree, causing Skyla to wince sympathetically.
The Pancham fell again, once more stunned after hurting itself in it's confusion. That and the preceeding fair wind hopefully would be enough to keep it in it's poke ball this time. Gwen stepped up to where the failed poke ball lay, and lifted it psychically into the air and tossed it at the pancham, who was once again sucked into it.

This time, the ball sealed with little issue, and Gwen came up to it, and made the ball fly into her hands where she minimized it and clipped it to the strap of her shoulder bag amongst the rest of her pokemon. Skyla flew over, coming to a rest on her shoulder, and Gwen reached over run her fingers over her soft, feathery head. "Good work Skyla. Care to join me on a Murkrow search?"
Skyla chirped contently as her head was stroked, and when Gwen questioned her, the Togetic nodded without hesitation, before taking back to the air and flying ahead several meters. Gwen followed, stepping through the brush. It might have been more practical to get back to the path, but it seemed so far they hadn't had much luck on that. Perhaps they'd find the bird they were looking for deeper into the woods.
As they walked, Skyla weaved through the trees, poking her nose around every crevice. How long has Gwen been searching for one? The Togetic wondered as she stopped for a moment to rest on a branch. Looking below, she saw her trainer following, looking around just as she was. Unfortunately, it was all a matter of luck and the Togetic was aware of it. They could find it, or they might not.
Gwen continued to search, though regularly made checks on Skyla to make sure she didn't lose the Togetic. So far though, nothing seemed to appear to her. Trusting the Togetic to alert her if it had, it seemed her pokemon's luck wasn't faring any better. "Let's keep moving." Gwen called to her pokemon when she noticed it had stopped to rest, and together they pushed onward.
