Ambitions: Flynn wants to keep his mum and younger brother, Blake, financially stable. Earn them enough money so they can all relax and live in comfort. While he'll do so by whatever means necessary, he'd prefer not to go against his morals. HISTORY Flynn was born into a family that were barely scraping by. His mother was jumping between jobs, usually for a year max before being replaced to save money or so they could hire someone who was more qualified for the job. Flynn's father seemed to earn sudden lump sums of money which would help them pay the bills just in time. Flynn's mother was always curious about how Flynn's father acquired the money but ultimately never asked. Flynn, despite still being young at the time was always suspicious of his fathers earnings. Knowing that his dad was quite the nefarious person, he suspected his fathers money was not something he wanted anyone to know about it. Flynn's relationship with his father was nothing special. They didn't have a perfect father-son relationship or a burning hatred for one another. They maybe exchanged a few words, had a few pleasant conversations but occasionally a few drunken words may have been thrown at Flynn and Flynn wasn't afraid to yell at his father when angered. Despite both the good and bad, they were neutral with one another. As time went on Flynn's parents became more distant and a few arguments had begun between them however they didn't last long and the worst thing to come of it were raised voices and his father sleeping on the couch or disappearing out the front door. Eventually, one day, Flynn's father left for work (whatever that consisted of Flynn never truly knew) but never came back. There was no goodbye or hints towards his permanent departure. It was quite a shock to Flynn and his mother. By this time Flynn had recently turned 14 and his younger brother, Blake was only 5 years old. The sudden disappearance was a big blow to them. It only made there money problem more difficult. Flynn began taking whatever simple jobs a boy at his age could, while his mother tried to find a more stable placement in a job were she could feel more secure about not being laid off. Thankfully, Flynn wasn't one to want to much. He never cared for things such as video games or fashionable clothing so he would gladly give most of his money that he earned to his mother and keep some for himself. Usually he saved up some on the side to buy Blake toys or something for himself if he really wanted something (which was rare). After 3 years of both Flynn scraping whatever money he could get from part-time jobs and his mother working her hardest at her job and keeping Blake in the dark as best they could about their financial troubles the bills and the debt caught up with them. After being evicted from their old house (which was nothing special) the Kendrick family moved to a very small, cramped home in one if the less appealing areas of Tynntill town. Flynn realized that he needed to make a lot more money now that they'd been reduced to such a poor state and were still struggling to pay bills. Flynn considered becoming a trainer or maybe even a breeder or coordinator. Not only could he make the necessary funds for his family but also stay out of the house, meaning no more money would be needed to be spent on him since he would be away travelling. However, the glaring problem with this plan was that Flynn knew nothing about pokemon. Despite this, Flynn decided to become a trainer. Of course this wasn't easy for him. He gathered whatever knowledge he could from books or computers over several months of studying whenever he could while working at a construction site. While Flynn has learned some Pokemon basics like type advantages and disadvantages, he still has a lot to learn with his newly caught Pokemon. OTHER INFORMATION None... RP SAMPLE RP Sample: As usual in Tyntill town, the sun was out and shining bright with few clouds to shade the citizens of the town from the heat. The occasional breeze rolled by, messing up someone's hair or blowing some rubbish a few feet along the street. Flynn remained in the shade of a nearby apartment building, leaning against the wall as he lit a cigarette he currently held in his mouth. Lighting it with a faint blue flame which soon disappeared as he pocketed the lighter and the smoke from the cigarette slowly rose into the air. Before he could even begin to inhale he heard a familiar voice. "Big bro?" His younger brother was looking for him. Flynn sighed as he flicked the cigarette off to the side, out of view. He knew how his younger brother looked up to him and he didn't want to let him see his bad habit. As Blake turned the corner, Flynn turned to face him, a wide smile on his face. A similar expression on Blake's face as he charged towards his older brother and quickly hugged him. Flynn let out a small chuckle, a rare thing to hear from him. Without a word, Flynn began to walk out of the shaded alleyway and out into the hot weather on the open streets of Tyntill Town. Blake followed suit. "Bro. What were you doing in there?" His younger brother asked. Puzzled as to what his brother could have possibly been doing. "Just relaxing and getting out of the shade. Work can get tiring y'know." Flynn explained, feeling the small pang of guilt that always accompanied him whenever he lied to his younger brother who would always give a cheery smile in response to Flynn's answers. As Flynn continued to make his way home his ears were filled with Blake explaining all of the events that happened at school. Down to the most minute detail. Damn can he talk was all Flynn thought to himself as his younger brother continued his stories. Despite the annoyance Flynn couldn't help but smile at the innocence and naivete of his little brother. He hoped he could let it stay that way for Blake. |
