The Golden Egg Society has recently recruited a new member that has revealed she has a secret method to pushing some Pokemon past the currently known limitations of Evolution. She is willing to share this secret method, but only to those that prove themselves worthy. Any who wish to learn this secret method must approach her with an egg she deems fit for breaking the Evolution limitations. Once she has given her approval, the person that wishes to learn her method must prove themself by raising the egg. Once the Pokemon has fully evolved, she will expect a demonstration of the Pokemon's power before deciding whether or not she will reveal her method.
Opponents: The New G.E.S. Recruit Rewards: Full Mega Knowledge.
Notes Raise a Pokemon from a line that is capable of Mega Evolving from the egg to it's final evolutionary stage with a complete move set and present the final result for evaluation. Evaluation will be a simple one-on-one battle, however, you do not have to win. This is to prove you and the Pokemon have truly grown close together and therefore have a very close bond.
This mission requires at least 3 posts of interaction with the Pokemon you chose, one post for each stage of the Pokemon's evolutionary tree. Pokemon with only two stages of evolution will still needed to meet the minimum 3 posts of interaction required. (Posting the witnessing of the egg hatching, for example, could fill in the 3rd slot) Pokemon with only one stage will just need three different stories of interactions with the Pokemon. These posts should be a one shot story of either training together, spending time together, just evidence that the Pokemon and trainer have indeed bonded.
I will take this one for Daxton.
Daxton Amari Raymer Team Magma, Our land is your land
Day 1
Daxton carried the funny egg in his arms with a dead pan expression. He wanted somebody to tell him why it was necessary to have to bond with this Pokemon through friendship? Well, it couldn't be all too bad now, could it? Daxton cradled the egg and sat down in a chair that was contained in his.. temporary apartment. Also a place where he could keep his other Pokemon out of their Pokeballs without making the people of the Bosky Hamlet too uncomfortable.
With a sigh, he kicked back in his chair and looked up at he ceiling with a slightly forlorn expression. The breeder did say that this was a Houndour egg, and he believed him cause the two brown spots made it... obvious. He snorted and balanced the egg in his lap, running his fingers over the shell's surface with a curious expression roaming across his face until there was a small and faint smile. "Well. I guess you can't be that bad. I mean, every Pokemon has to start from some point and not all of them have to be raised in a soldier's mindset." Daxton wasn't sure and little did he know that he was still wrong.
He didn't know that if he did it right, he could be gentle and loving, but still have very strong and militarized Pokemon. He would soon find that out in the coming days. But for now, he was inside while the night passed on and the Kriketune played a song in the darkened woods. The sky was clear and moonlight filtered into his room, lighting everything with a silver tone. Occasionally, Auxru could be heard doing a faint howl in his dreams, probably fighting something or running with a pack by the way his arms and legs twitched.
Gently, the man stood up and placed the egg on a couple of folded and rolled up towels and placed a heating pad over the egg. Sitting down, he adjusted the temperature and laid down on the floor next to it, watching the egg with cold eyes. "I don't know what kind of personality you're going to have, but I can only hope you'll get along with the rest of the pack." He mumbled quietly, feeling the red necklace, bearing his keystone, fall in his shirt and finally come to a rest on the floor. He pulled his shirt up and looked down at the item, blinking at the way it was a mix of colors, truly, a mysterious stone and a force to be reckoned with.
The man placed a hand on the side of the egg to feel for movement, but there wasn't much. This made him frown a little and shake his head more, pulling a towel over so he could lay his head on some kind of cushion, and hopefully when he wakes up in the morning, he wouldn't have a massive crick in his neck. He let out a sort of groan as he twitched the corners of his mouth. Finally, his body relaxed and he fell asleep next to the Houndour egg, feeling warmth coming off of it and calming his chills.
It was certain that it would take a long time for Daxton to open up and truly be kind to the egg and the Pokemon it contained. Unless a certain force were to drive him closer with the egg, it was sure to say that this process could take weeks with the kind of closed off man that he was. But him laying on the cold floor next to the egg, doing what he could to keep it warm in the cold nights of the Bosky Hamlet, was definitely a start to a different man.

Day 2
There was a loud groan from the building that Daxton was staying in. It was the man stretching of course. His back arched and his arms stretched upwards just as far as his legs stretching downwards did. With ooooone massive pull, he felt his back pop and relaxed with a soft sigh. The man's eyes wandered over to the egg, which was still resting where he had left it last night, the only difference was that Auxru had moved over next to the duo and was resting peacefully until Daxton had stretched the way he had.
He shooed the Lucario to get up and do some stretches while he went through a list of things in his mind to look for on the egg for signs of decay, death or hatching. As of right now, he saw nothing on the egg and sighed happily, except for the fact that the egg was still a little ball of nothing and would not move NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE WANTED IT TO.
With a heavy, heart felt sigh, he placed the egg into a cradling position and put it safely on a stand so he could get dressed for the day. Daxton grumbled to his self a little bit as he pulled a reliable pair of pants on, as well as socks and boots. With that said and done and his boots tied in the typical loose manner he always had them in when he wasn't having to do anything serious, Daxton stood to his full height and walked over to grab onto the Houndour egg.
It was considerably warmer than it was the night before, and that was definitely something that Daxton noticed that brought a little bit of a smile to his face. It had been a long time since Daxton had felt fatherly towards anything, the last time being when he was in a relationship, quite a while ago. He did everything he could to take care of his sick girlfriend, but in the end, it always turned out that he wasn't strong enough for her. At least by his own standards that is. He had left her because he felt that he couldn't take care of her any longer, now what had happened to Thalia? Hell, nobody knew. She was last in Dewford the last time Daxton had any sort of contact with the woman.
He grit his teeth and held onto the egg, looking down at it. By her name, he would take care of this egg and make it one of the greatest damn Houndoom that there was to live. With a determined expression, he motioned for his Lucario to follow suit and stay close.
Their walk with the egg was perfect, the sky was clear, the sun was rising and the dew on the grass was melting from it's state of near frost. Daxton's boots were already dripping with the dew that collected on the toes and the sides of the boots and his Lucario's paws were already covered and soaked with the liquid that formed on the blades of grass.
The walk took them several hours through the forest, walking up and down hills, stopping by a clear stream every now and then and sitting on some cold rocks to chill the heat that was starting to set in out in this now humid and hot mid-day environment. He swung his feet from a small ledge, cradling the egg in his lap and resting his forehead against it gently. "You're gonna be strong. I know it."
When he finally looked up from the off-black egg, he noted that there were some off-black clouds rolling in. Daxton's eyes slowly widened as he realized that fire type eggs + water exposure = possible death of Pokemon. If the temperature of the egg dropped too much, it would spell bad news for the Houndour inside.
Standing up, he felt a rain drop plop him on the nose. An irritated growl came from Auxru and Daxton's throats as the skies decided they were going to open up and drop rain down upon them. Along with you know, lightning, thunder and other various dangerous things a storm can bring such as wind and debris.
He tried holding the egg close, but both of them were being drenched as he walked back to the town through the hours of woods they trekked through. If you ran in the rain, you would just make situations worse. It was always best to keep calm and keep your head about you in a situation like this.
A thought crossed the man's head and he handed the egg to Auxru, immediately pulling his coat off and putting it around the egg until they would reach the house.
While the egg was still giving off warmth under neath of the coat that Daxton held, flush to his bare chest, Daxton shivered violently when they stepped inside. He walked over to where he had a make shift nest and dropped to his knees, unwrapping the wet and luckily, water-proof coat, off of the egg and placing a warming pad on it, slowly warming the egg back up to it's normal temperature while he his self, was still dripping wet and shivering.
Auxru had already shaken off all of the water and went digging for some sort of towel to put over his master's shoulders to start drying him off and try to keep him warm. While the dog was rubbing the towel against Daxton, Daxton was sitting cross-legged, watching the egg closely, when it suddenly rewarded him with a small rock.
Both him and his Lucario let out a sigh of relief, Daxton dropping back into his Pokemon, letting him dry his hair for him while he fell asleep where he was. It was then left up to the Lucario to help position his sleepy master, who would occasionally wake up and help, into a sleeping position like he was in last night, pulling a blanket over him this time and leaving a dry towel over part of his head.

Day 3
There was a considerable amount of snoring that drew from Daxton and Auxru. The Anubis like Pokemon had curled up behind Daxton to help try and keep him warm throughout the night. Both of them were breathing evenly next to each other and cracked their eyes open at the same time as each other, even looking over to each other with a questioned expression. "Hey buddy... thanks."
Daxton dropped his head back onto the towel but suddenly, he heard a cracking noise from behind him. Jumping up to his knees, he pulled the heating pad off of the egg and looked at the crack forming. It wasn't long before Auxru was over by Daxton's side as well, watching the crack move and the egg twitch with a small nose poking it's way out.
It was almost funny and in a way to Daxton, cute, as the small Houndour pushed her way out of the egg and got her head stuck. The struggle was only funny for so long before she got one paw out and stretched her way out of the ball, flopping onto a towel that Daxton suddenly slid underneath of her to help catch her.
A small bark came from her and she blew a puff of smoke out, struggling to get to her feet and staggering, trying to find her hold on the world. Daxton even reached out and gave a supporting hand to her, helping her move around until she decided she wanted to try and walk to Daxton.
And Daxton held still for her, watching her quickly gain her legs and walk over to her "father" with a happy sounding bark when she collapsed into his lap. And then, strangely enough, Daxton got a strange feeling of warmth in the pit of his stomach and in his chest. With a warm smile, he pulled her into a strong hug, feeling her lay her head on his shoulder.
"We're gonna call you Kaikala." He spoke into her fur, putting her on the ground. It wasn't long before she bit onto his pants leg though and started tugging, wanting to play and fumbling around every so often, slowly getting used to this thing called walking.
Daxton reached into a bag he brought with him and pulled out a couple of toys, one of them being a black and red tug of war rope, the light one they used to train their young hounds around Team Magma to have stronger jaws with. When he pulled the rope all the way out, Kaikala's eyes lit up like the sun that was peeking into their room.
She instantly jumped over and bit onto the end of the rope, pulling and tugging, occasionally falling and sliding with Daxton's pulling. It made Daxton laugh quietly to see her fumbling around against his strength, getting a few good tugs on his arm here and there but she eventually got tired; Kaikala laid down in the floor and chased the rope lazily, not moving from where she lay.
"I guess you would be a bit on the hungry side, now wouldn't you?" Bark, bark! That was a definitive yes. Daxton pushed off of the ground and stood up, walking over to a bag he had on the floor, picking it up and putting on the table, opening the fridge and grabbing another bag. Once everything was laid out, Daxton began to make a mix of different nutrient providing foods and press them into tiny bits of kibble like food for the Houndour... who was already at his feet and looking up at him. Once he gathered a bowl of water for her, he put both of the bowls into the floor and made up a couple of sandwiches for him and his Lucario, getting a grateful growl from Auxru.
There was a silent moment in the house, only disturbed by an occasional burp by the Houndour eating next to the sitting Daxton. He chuckled a little when she finished and just sort of, flopped, on her rear end, looking up to Daxton with a "what do I do now?"
Eager to get up and move, Daxton couldn't deny her activity. So he stood up and grabbed the red and grey ball out of his bag, opening the door for her to walk out of and Auxru to follow suit.
"Alright Kaikala, this is a ball. When I throw it, you go get it and bring it back, ok?" He asked in a tone that would excite any kid and it worked for her, getting her pumped up and ready. But fetch always sounded so boring to a human, who would wanna play it? Well, for some reason, it always got certain Pokemon pumped up and ready to go, so he hocked the ball a fair distance, watching her turn tail and bolt after it.
With a tilted head, he watched her come running back with the ball. He smiled at her form, small and with a wiggling tail, she was very excited for this... even if she wouldn't let go of the ball for a while whilst Daxton tried to free it from her jaws. Standing upright, he threw it again, looking over to Auxru, who was watching her with a slightly interested look until she came bolting back and jumped onto Auxru, barking excitedly, dropping the ball on his chest.
She already looked up to Auxru and was already... bored... he thought... of playing ball. No, she was just listening to stories that Auxru told her of evolving and becoming a Lucario. Her attention was with him for a few minutes before he dismissed her, crossing his arms and looking away from Daxton and Kaikala with a small smile on his face. Kaikala had ran back over to Daxton and jumped into his arms, it was walking time!
And this time, Daxton checked the weather before heading out into the woods. She hopped along with him and ran circles around his legs for what seemed like forever. But to him, time was flying by. While he let her splash in a stream for a bit and get a drink of water, he watched her from a safe distance, lifting her out of it when she had been in there too long and getting small love nips in the ankles while walking.
The sun began to set and Daxton figured it was time to go home, so he turned tail and walked back to the small apartment building, reaching their preferred location for the night as soon as the sun had gotten to the point where it was giving off a low, purple like light, giving everything the blue-ish tint of true twilight.
He let her into the house and picked the yawning and stretching puppy up, placing her in the bed and laying down next to her, holding the hound flush to his body while Auxru curled up behind his head.
Their breathing fell into time as the three laid on the bed, rain starting to plop on the roof gently, Kaikala and Auxru twitching their ears some before truly falling asleep with their master. ---------------------------

Day 4
Daxton balanced his weight over a small board, rocking back and forth on the suspended board quietly, watching as Auxru stretched his legs and as Kaikala just chased her nub of a tail around in a circle, growling and barking.
"Alright Kaikala. Auxru will have control over his own actions, so... you ready for this?" He asked her while she bolted over and jumped onto the board, hopping off again and running out into the field.
Daxton gave Auxru a readied nod, queuing for him to start. It was sure that the poor Houndour was going to get it, but she had to try and put effort into battling; and to Daxton's mild surprise, she put herself in a readied stance, snarling at Auxru and stopping her tail-wagging.
Auxru pulled his arms back and charged up a Shadow ball. Everything seemed to slow down to Daxton when realized that maybe, this may have been a poor decision. "Kaikala! Move out of the way!" Just barely, the Houndour was able to hop to the side, as well as fall onto her side. BUT! She recovered quickly when Daxton whistled.
"Flamethrower, Kaikala!"
Fire brimmed her mouth and she released a rather brutal looking Flamethrower towards Auxru. At the last second, Daxton saw Auxru put up a Protect, deflecting the attack with ease.
"Agh! And Auxru begins his thing. Kaikala! Stand by!" She prepped herself for the next attack but it came to fast for her to react. The older Lucario's Thunder Punch landed on her and knocked her across the clearing, but Daxton wouldn't let her continue to fly. Auxru was still close to her.
"Crunch! Clamp onto him!" She did as commanded and bit onto Auxru's arm, holding tight until they came sliding to a halt. "Now while you're close, release that pent up energy! Counter!"
Kaikala growled ferociously, using her coiled muscles to jump towards Auxru's gut, knocking him back a bit with a stagger. But he didn't flinch, his inner focus kept him from doing so and he dove in towards her with a close combat.
"Don't take that shit from him! Flamethrower!" She released another brutal pillar of fire at Auxru, not disrupting his Close Combat, but enough to actually hurt him some.
Auxru bounced back, shaking his head and shaking off the attack. He growled and threw up another protect, knowing what Daxton was going to do again.
"Flamethrower again! Get relentless!" She released another one, panting and growling at the fire that engulfed the protect Auxru had up.
"That's enough you two. That was good!" Auxru nodded and threw his aura sphere up, letting it explode high in the sky. The Lucario took his respectful place by his master's side, walking over to pick up the Houndour and pet her.
"That was really good Kaikala. Way to hang in there." He chuckled out, letting her lick his face and nuzzle into his neck out of excitement from the praise.
The long day spent by the trio began to draw to a close. Their morning was spent prepping for the battle and the evening was spent talking about the battle they had. What could have been done better and what was good. Daxton was very impressed with the performance of the Houndour and gave her pats while they lay in bed, letting the moonlight shine on them in between the clouds high up into the sky. ---------------------------
Daxton Amari Raymer Team Magma, Our land is your land
Day 5
Daxton was taking a simple walk through the woods outside of the Bosky Hamlet when it was a sudden pitch in Kaikala's attitude that made him turn around and... suddenly. She was surrounded in a bright light that imitated her fire in some since or another and it wasn't long before she stood to her new full height and looked at Daxton with a new form of command, shaking her head.
"I... wow." He pat Auxru, who was staring at the sudden evolution and smiled. "I think we both know what this means." All three seemed to grin at each other when Daxton spoke and they moved along to a clearing that was... as safe as it was going to get with all the fire that was sure to be thrown.
"Alright! Auxru. You know what to do!"
The first thing his Lucario did was make an Aura Sphere and throw it towards Kaikala. The Sphere was quickly destroyed and dismissed by a seeming ball of fire swirling around Kaikala and exploding outwards. "Was that... an Inferno?" Auxru and Daxton both seemed to be impressed, but they couldn't let that distract them. "Alright Kaikala. Show me if you've learned anything else!"
She howled upwards and the sun intensified through the piercing clouds, only momentarily and long enough to put some punching power behind the Fire fang she charged at Auxru with. Fire enshrouded her mouth and took the form of elongated fangs that bit down on Auxru's arm, only shortly before he used Close Combat to knock her back and off of him.
Both of them growled viciously at each other and as soon as a Dark Pulse was released, Auxru threw up his paws and created a barrier around him, using protect. He then soon formed a glowing Bone in his hand and charged at Kaikala, hitting her in the side with it and knocking her back with a Thunder Punch.
The now inflamed Houndoom let out a massive cloud of Smog, obscuring Auxru's vision and making him have to use his aura seeing ability. Everything became a little harder for Auxru to see, and that made him have to dodge what may or may not have been Flamethrower's coming his way. Daxton was standing back and watching the battle carry on. He didn't want to interrupt the two sparring with each other, it was wonderful.
Kaikala wasn't stupid and it was showing. While the smog was starting to fade and there were Close Combats attempted and Flamethrowers attempted, the rest of the smog was quickly dismissed by another Inferno from the girl. Daxton marveled at the beauty of a Houndoom, fire swirling outwards from her.
"Alright. You two! STOP!" They were starting to hit each other pretty hard and there was genuine worry in Daxton's voice for both of them. Both were beat up looking, but walked back over to their master's side, allowing their return to their Pokeball's so Daxton could take them back by the small place he was staying and where he could help them heal after that battle, and that was also when Daxton noted that tomorrow, he'd be ready to face the holder of the mega knowledge.
------------------------------ (LOL NEXT MORNING)
Daxton approached the woman with the now healed Kaikala by her side and placed a hand on the large Houndoom's neck. "Hey! I raised this lady from an egg and trained her up! I want to test for the knowledge people say you have."
The receptionist stared at Daxton and the Houndoom at his side. Without blinking an eyelash, the woman leaned over and pressed a button on the phone next to her. "Sir, a challenger is here. I'll be sending them to you shortly." Without breaking eye contact, the woman stood up and motioned for Daxton to follow her. "This way, sir." She said simply.
She lead Daxton and company to the back, where the battle arena was prepared. It was a simple arena with no gimmicks, making simple and easy for both parties. The receptionist turned to Daxton and party and bowed slightly, taking her leave and returning to the front desk. Soon enough, a man came out of the back door, an Ampharos following him out onto the field. "I see we've got a challenger, Dojo, what do you think about them so far?" Andy asked. The electric type stared at its opponent, tilting its head and then nodding confidently. Andy grinned and nodded himself, getting into position on the field.
"Welcome my friends! I hear that you want to challenge me for some special knowledge." Andy's eyes drifted to the Houndoom at Daxton's side. "I see you've raised a fine looking Houndoom. Now, the question is, is the bond between you two strong enough to beat us?" The Ampharos at Andy's side stood tall, a confident grin plastered on its face.
Daxton Amari Raymer Team Magma, Our land is your land
Proof Time!
Daxton watched as the Ampharos jumped to the side of her Inferno, but blinked when he started to charge up. He looked back to the quickly disappearing smog and bit his bottom lip, turning back to the Ampharos when it was commanded to use discharge.
"KAIKALA! HUNKER DOWN!" He barked at her in the voice he used to speak over the loud internal rumblings of a volcano. He knew it wouldn't do much and there was no hope of dodging that attack. She let out a pained roar and shook her head, looking back at Daxton.
"Are you ok girl?" He furrowed his brow and looked at her with a worried expression, looking at her put her feet back under her and stand back up. Kaikala gave a determined growl and barked at Daxton, trying to let him know that she was OK.
"You wanna keep going then? Alright! That's my girl!" He was still strongly worried about her but he had to follow along with what she wanted to do. Giving up right now would just be pathetic and it would annoy Kaikala deeply, probably even break her trust in Daxton. "Dark Pulse!"
The Houndoom growled and reared her head towards the floor, slamming a shadow ball looking orb into the ground that spread out in a show wave of darkness in all directions. The wave of darkness rolled towards the Ampharos quickly, hopefully opening up an opportunity for the hound.
"Alright girl, now Smog again! Blow it towards them this time!" Kaikala did almost the same thing as last time, except this time, she blew the purple cloud towards the Ampharos, braving her self for what was to come next. Last time she used smog, she got hit with a discharge. "It'll be alright Kaikala. Follow up with a Flamethrower towards that Ampharos and let's hope we can get a hit on it."
She gave him a confirmatory growl and got angry, welling fire into her mouth again and spitting it towards the little fluff ball of electricity that dealt her such a hit. The fire swirled shortly behind the burst of smog in it's own burst of heat and intensity. Daxton looked back down to her, noting her panting. He wanted to call the battle off, she was still young for a Houndoom and it... actually hurt to see something he fought to hatch from an egg pant like she was. "You can do it girl." He gave her a bit of reassurance. Her panting stopped for a second as she listened to him, but started back up, her focus going strictly back to the battle with Daxton's focus. --------------------------- Word Count: 478 Notes
Houndoom / Kaikala 19.9% Struck by charged discharge Used Dark Pulse Smog blown in Ampharos direction Flamethrower followed up the smog
Andy's grin grew and he laughed. "Now that's what I like to see. Show me what your Houndoom is made of, boy! Get started out there, Ampharos." The electric type hopped forward, landing on the field and preparing itself for battle. Andy was rather excited. Not only was he excited to battle, but he was curious to see how his opponent trained the Houndoom. Anyone can call out an attack and the Pokemon can listen, so Andy wanted to see just how close his opponent was with the Fire type and how that would show through in this battle.
The sunlight was a warning sign for Ampharos to get moving. "Get out of the way!" Andy called out. The electric type was quick to move, ducking to the side and avoiding the Inferno that hit the floor. The fire ignited onto the ground and the Ampharos looked at the fire, turning its attention back to the Houndoom. However, the Pokemon was now covered with a purple gas, blocking the Ampharos' sight. However, that was no problem at all for the Ampharos. "Charge it up, my friend, and then release!" Andy called out.
Sparks began to fly as the Ampharos charged up all its energy. The electricity was flowing through the Pokemon's body until the Ampharos felt like it was enough. Suddenly, the energy was released and the Ampharos released all the stored electricity in a Discharge. The electricity went everywhere, blasting every which way. Whether or not the Ampharos could see the Houndoom was meaningless, especially with a move that hit everything.
