Those who have grown up in the big city end up missing it sooner or later. Happy with the tranquil life Julia has started to enjoy in Bayonadaville, the need to escape unalterable peace has awakened in her. Returning to Evergrande City, however, is a little too expensive and time-consuming. ‘Big cities are always the same, though’, the young Gym Leader commented to herself as she walked down the streets of Flash City in order to approach the so-called ‘Moon Walk’. Taking out the guide of one of her jean’s pockets, Juria started to read the description of this well-known path and the lake inside of it. Apparently, it also hosted some myths, which only made investigating it more interesting.
Julia’s visit to the big city did not only have the purpose of escaping the peaceful living of Bayonadaville. In fact, her goal was also to look for a pokemon she had always wanted to catch, concretely a Lotad. Fascinated by the contradicting nature of its dual-type, Julia had always thought of it as a pokemon that could definitely put up a front against electric type pokemon. However, it was also her intention to train Atlantis, her shiny Magikarp, one of the pokemon in her teams she valued the most and cared most about. Having a Feebas as a first pokemon made Julia care a lot for pokemon that were born with great disadvantages in their first form; especially because other trainers often mistreated them, something the girl could not bare to stand.
When reaching the location, Julia approached the lake. After examining it, the girl smiled confidently and took a pokeball from her belt pack. ‘Go, Atlantis!’ The pokeball hit the lake’s edge and subsequently returned to the trainer’s hand once the golden colored Magikarp was completely released. ‘Magikarp...’, the pokemon expressed in a monotonous tone. ‘Now Atlantis, today we’re going to give your Tackle an ultimate power-up, what do you think?’ Julia always sounded enthusiastic when talking to Atlantis and although her pokemon was not that much of an expressive being, the young Gym Leader could somehow feel its support.
For now the only thing she could do was wait for some wild pokemon to appear, which could take a little time. Julia took out an inflatable ball and started to inflate it. She then threw it into the lake. A little bit of training could not harm anyone, could it? ‘Let’s go Atlantis, we’re now going to practice your tackle’, she indicated. ‘Take the ball to the other side of the lake and when I give you the signal use tackle on it and try to threw it in my direction. Since it’s a air ball it’s not going to gain much speed, so you don’t have to worry about hurting me, okay?’ Maybe it was an expressionless pokemon, but Julia could feel her pokemon’s feelings without the necessity of it saying anything. ‘Okay, let’s go! Use tackle Atlantis!’ And so the training begun.

'Magikarp is virtually useless in battle as it can only splash around. As a result, it is considered to be weak. However, it is actually a very hardy Pokémon that can survive in any body of water no matter how polluted it is.'
With a performance almost worth a pokemon contest, Atlantis hit the beach ball with all his might, sending it directly towards its trainer. ‘Way to go, Atlantis!’, Julia congratulated the golden fish with clear excitement reflected in her eyes. Despite this great start, however, something got in the ball’s way. A tiny little creature, fairly resembling a tadpole, jumped out of the water and hindered the ball from reaching its destination. Or, to be more concrete, stole the ball for itself. ‘Hey!’, Julia complained immediately. A Tympole had emerged from the water and was now jumping defiantly on the ball. What a naughty creature it was. It was definitely not going to give the ball back by using good terms.
In this sense, battling was the only option left. There was no way the young Gym Leader would simply give away her Magikarp’s training item. ‘Atlantis, tackle against the ball!’ And so the battle began. Atlantis dived into the water without Tympole noticing it in time. The little tadpole was looking into all directions almost hysterically, but it couldn’t detect its opponent in time. As strong as it could, Atlantis hit the ball from underwater, sending it together with the Tympole a few meters into the air. ‘Don’t wait for it to fall into the water Atlantis, use tackle again!’ Maybe Magikarps did not have many moves to choose from –actually, it had only two effective movements and, in the and, the one that could cause real harm was the tackle attack–, but Julia’s did count with a fairly well-developed physical condition and strength.
Atlantis responded to Julia’s instructions at the speed of sound and before Tympole could reach the water, the golden fish jumped out from it and hit the tadpole with its tackle, sending it hard against the water’s surface. SPLASH! The Tympole hit the water hurtfully. ‘Tympole!’, it squished angrily. Maybe its intention was only to play a little prank on Julia when stealing the ball, but it definitely had picked the wrong day to do that. Possessed with anger, Tympole started to express his rage with his uproar, reaching Atlantis’ ears. ‘Ugh…!’, Julia complained as she covered her own ears with both of her hands. Using uproar couldn’t fit Tympole’s current mood better. But she had to think quickly, or otherwise her Magikarp would suffer quite a lot of harm. ‘Atlantis, dive into the water!’
Underwater the sound didn’t have such a strong effect and it hindered Atlantis from getting more hurt. But Tympole was so angry it couldn’t stop its uproar. Even if it was a strong attack, it had a negative side to it, namely that it couldn’t be stopped for at least two turns. ‘Atlantis, tackle again!’ Shouting it with her ears still covered, Julia hoped for her Magikarp to hear her. Fortunately for her, the golden fish did and jumped from under the water almost immediately. It hit Tympole again, stopping its uproar and sending it to the other side of the lake. Extremely weakened, Tympole decided to retreat. ‘Yes, we did it!’, Julia proclaimed in excitement as she threw a fist into the air. The more she battled with Atlantis, the stronger they bound grew and this could only make her the happiest trainer on earth.

After taking a little rest and letting Atlantis recover from the battle with Tympole, Julia decided to continue with the practice session. Before she could actually stand up, however, something jumped out of the water and hit Atlantis on the way. ‘Hey!’ The female trainer exclaimed as she jumped up from the grass and fixed her deep chocolate orbs on the culprit. It was a Magikarp, a regular one. ‘You okay Atlantis?’, she then asked her own Magikarp. Fortunately, Atlantis seemed to be quite okay, not really bothered by the other fish.
The question however was, did the wild Magikarp attack Atlantis on purpose or not? Making a quick summary of the knowledge she had about Magikarps, the young Gym Leader ruled out a possible offensive. Magikarp are known for being very passive and relaxed pokémon that only rarely get into fights willingly. ‘I think it was just an accident, Atlantis’, Julia commented, although her golden companion did not need an excuse for the wild Magikarp’s attack as he did not really care about it. Again, Magikarps are very tranquil pokemon and even if attacked, they usually swim away. Letting him go was, therefore, the best option.

After the unfortunate encounter with the clumsy wild Magikarp, Julia and Atlantis proceeded with the training. With the ball flying from one side of the lake to the other, soon the pokémon that inhabited the place became curious and approached them. Some of them, however, did not really give them a warm welcome. In an attempt of pricking the beach ball, a wild Goldeen emerged from the deepness of the lake. It was upset, really upset. Julia knew she could not avoid battling it, but a Goldeen could be too much of a hassle for Atlantis. ‘Come here Atlantis, we’ll let Étoile handle this’. Atlantis did not agree with that, though. It remained fixed in the spot, turning its back towards its trainer.
Unbelievable. He wanted to battle Goldeen? ‘Are you telling me you want to battle?’ Julia asked, still not trusting her eyes. Atlantis answered with one of its already well-known monotonous ‘Magikarp’, letting her know that he was ready for whatever had to come. ‘No offence, but you’re acting like a stubborn Gyarados right now’, Julia joked as she put Étoiles pokéball back into her belt pack. ‘Okay then, let’s go!’ Her words signaled the beginning of a tough battle. Goldeen did not waste a single second and decided to attack first with its fury attack. ‘Atlantis, jump up to dodge it!’ And Atlantis tried, but Goldeen was faster and made it to hit him once. Julia cursed the circumstances but didn’t let it get on her nerves. Atlantis still jumped up from the water even after being hit by Goldeen and Julia used the chance to multiply the power of its tackle attack. ‘Atlantis, use the inertia from your fall and use tackle on Goldeen!’ With her hands closed into fists, Julia prayed for her strategy to work.
A smile was drawn on her face as Atlantis hit the target with full power. Goldeen shrieked in complaint as it backed down hurt. Now it was even angrier than before. Bad thing. With Magikarp only being able to use Tackle or Flail, strategy and perfect timing was the only thing she had. Judging by the size of the wild Goldeen, however, Magikarp was at a higher level, but its body was more fragile so, in the end, both pokémon shared similar defense qualities. Nevertheless, Atlantis’ tackle was stronger than Goldeen’s fury attack. It was therefore a surprise when Goldeen came back using agility and megahorn on Atlantis, throwing the golden Magikarp outside of the lake against its trainer. ‘Ow!’ Julia complained as she fell on hard on the ground with Atlantis splashing on her, finally fainting. ‘Oh no, Atlantis!’ The golden fish had been knocked out and required a long rest. Julia was lucky that Goldeen had been satisfied with that result and dived back into the depths of the sea. The young Gym Leader returned Atlantis to its pokéball and left the place for the day.
The next day, Julia returned to the Moon Walk path and approached the lake where she and Atlantis had been defeated the day before. She called Atlantis out of its pokéball and began again with the beach ball training.

'Well done Atlantis!' Julia's energetic voice was the only thing to be heard. It was early in the morning and, for now, all wild pokémon seemed to be still sleeping or, at least, too tired to come out of their lairs. But this did not bother the Gym Leader at all. She was eager to find a Lotad, but she knew it would take a bit more time before finding one. When she saw a wild Psyduck dizzyly walking along the lake's border, she thought about battling it with Atlantis. She ruled out that option almost immediately, though, as she let out a yawn. Nah, it was still too early in the morning for that. Julia was still sleepy and that would definitely slow her quick thinking down. 'Not today little Psyduck', she muttered with a smile before focusing her attention back on Atlantis.
With the beach ball again in her hands, Julia placed it on the ground. It was time for a little change. The brown-haired girl, who had brought a bigger bag with her on that day, took three middle-sized hula hoops out of it. 'Okay Atlantis, now we're going to practice that jump of yours'. The goal was to throw the rings into the air and let the Magikarp jump from the water at the right time in order to jump through the rings. 'Ready?', she asked, waiting for her companion to respond affirmatively. 'Go!' The first ring was thrown into the air and Atlantis, who was waiting for the right time, finally jumped out of the water and perfectly flew through the hula hop.
