FLASH CITY: ROCK-TYPE GYM
THE GYM While the Gym is registered as being located in Flash City, it resides more on the outskirts--closer to the factories and warehouses that line the outskirts. The only thing that marks the massive Gym out from the rest of the buildings is the super-sized version of the badge sitting above the double doors.Walk in, and you'll find yourself in a mock archeological site. Sand covers the ground, and rock formations jut out from below, along with the occasional lop-sided statue. Sandstone paths do run throughout the area, making for easy walking and easy access for those who have physical disabilities. An ancient-looking stone door is set into the largest formation, and there's a square-shaped indent in the middle. The Gym Leader is nowhere in sight--he's hidden himself behind that door, forcing the challengers to find a way to open it before they can begin their match. THE LEADERS NEIL GARNETT Neil is the current Gym Leader, and took over the Gym after the previous leader ran it into the ground. Now he's desperately trying to restore it to it's former glory. Roster: Solrock, Golem, Lileep, Binacle CO-LEADER The Gym doesn't currently have a co-leader. If you're interested in becoming one, either contact Neil ICly or contact me (Rex) in the Cbox, over PM, or whatever other method you want to use. Roster: Pokémon here. | THE "DIG" SITE The trick to getting to the Leader for the actual Gym battle lies in the sand. Upon entering the Gym, Trainers will see a smooth, flat stone sticking out from the ground. On the stone, there is what appears to be a computer screen, and on it reads:Big Big Ignore Ignore While it seems like absolute gibberish at first, those words are actually a clue as to where the Trainer needs to go. Neil has set up rebus puzzles all over the Gym, and solving them will eventually lead to the key that they need to get to him. If a Trainer cannot figure out the answer, or would just prefer to plough through the challenge, they may battle one of the Gym Trainers in the room. If they win, the Gym Trainers will tell them where they need to go next, and will eventually direct them to the key. Challengers can also use their Pokémon to discern the key's location, should they have the ability (i.e. sniffing it out, using psychic powers, etc.). The riddles, answers, and directions are as follows: 1. Big Big (Dig beside the crossroads) |
THE ARENA When the challenging Trainer opens the door to the arena, they will be greeted by a very long staircase (accompanied by a ramp, of course) that leads deep underground. It's well-lit, though, and it doesn't take too long to get to the bottom. A narrow hallway leads down to the massive arena, which has been hollowed out of the stone. It's just as well-lit as the rest of the Gym, and has high ceilings to accommodate any flying-type Pokémon. There aren't any bodies of water for water-types, however (a pool would pose a massive risk to the rock-type Pokémon that the Leaders and Gym Trainers use). The place where the Pokémon will battle is sunk into the ground by about four feet. Catwalks line the walls, allowing people to walk around the arena as they need to. Two rock formations jut out further into the arena, providing a place for the challenger and the leader to stand. Said formations are opposite each other, located on the west and east sides from the doorway, and about half-way down the arena. | THE BATTLE RULES To challenge the Gym, one of the leaders must be contacted three days in advance of the battle. Battles will take place from Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. Challengers may pick the time and date provided they fall within those restrictions. The battle itself is just a straightforward Pokémon battle. Substitutions are allowed, but healing items and Mega stones are not. Battles can be single or double, but must involve at least two Pokémon. If they are able to, the leaders will adjust the strength of their teams according to the strength of the challengers. |
