[attr="class","elricscroll"]They had been in the wilds all of ten minutes and Elric was already stomping through the forest. Ostots scampered at his side, looking bright eyed and absolutely ready for a battle. The Helioptile pulled himself over a log, stumbling a bit as he caught up with his trainer. The lizard looked up at Elric, letting out a small noise to get the mans attention. Looking down, Elric grinned and then looked apologetic, "Don't worry, buddy. I'm just excited to start our training is all. Besides, neither of us know this forest really well, right?"
Ostots looked about, shaking his head. He didn't know the forest and neither did Elric. That worried the Helioptile quite a bit. He was almost ready to just stop and sit there. No way was he getting lost in this stupid forest. Elric lifted an eyebrow, eyeing him carefully, wondering what the Pokemon was thinking. Elric pointed at him, "Don't you flake out on me now, Ostots."
The Helioptile rolled its eyes and then pressed against Elric's leg, looking around the area. Elric himself was looking up into the trees just in case something attacked them from above. One could never be too careful, right?

[attr="class","elricscroll"]Elric was right to look up into the trees, almost instantly spotting the one thing he had never expected. Of course he’d encounter an entire horde of Pokemon once again. It just seemed to be his type of luck to be ambushed at possibly the worst times. It was almost as if he had hailed the entire horde to him with just a single thought. However, while the thought was enticing that maybe he could just will certain Pokemon to him with just his mind, he knew that that honestly wasn’t the case in this situation.
It was simply a case of being in the very right place and the very best time, or worst, which ever way one really wanted to look at it. For Elric, he was conflicted. He’d never met these Pokemon before, but that wasn’t to say that he hadn’t done at least a little research before he had stormed into the wilds with his Pokemon at his side. He hadn’t been too keen in putting himself and his Pokemon into harms way without probable cause, but this was probably one of the best places for him to try and hone both his own and his Pokemons’ skills in battle.
The first Nincada jumped from the tree, landing directly in front of Elric and his Helioptile. Instantly, Elric gave the biggest grin. “Well look at you!” he chuckled, bending down to pat Ostots’ head lightly. “Sorry, buddy, but you aren’t going to fight this one,” he hummed, slowly grabbing the Helioptile’s Pokeball and returning him to it. Instead, he pulled out a different Pokeball, releasing the Chinchou, Kepi, inside.
Kepi let out a small cry as she landed and then stood there with a blank expression, her eyes on the Nincada in front of her. This probably wasn’t the most wise decision of his life simply because the little time that he had had the Chinchou had revealed that said Pokemon was rather hostile when it came to other Pokemon. Elric instinctively took a step back, wishing to avoid the electric storm that was likely about to rain down on the area. No way was he going to get hit by his own Pokemon.
Silently, Elric filed away a single thought, ‘WARNING: THE CHINCHOU IS HOSTILE!’
Well, the Nincada was screwed, wasn’t it? All Elric could do was look back up to the trees and take note of the other Pokemon waiting, watching. This must have been like a right of passage for them. Unlucky for them, they weren’t going to get away unharmed. Elric wasn’t cruel, but he certainly wasn’t going to pull away from a fight.
Kepi continued to stare at the Nincada, her eyes dilating. Elric flinched slightly. He had to mentally prepare himself for this and hope that the water Pokemon actually followed his orders. If she didn’t they were kind of screwed. “Alright, Kepi. I want you to start with rain dance. Then hit it with Hydro Pump twice,” he called over, unsure if the Pokemon was actually listening to him. He let out a breath filled with relief when she lifted her little fins up and let out another cry, doing a tiny little dance. Rain started to fall almost instantly, soaking the entire area.
The Nincada looked suddenly wary, eying it’s opponent carefully. Oh yes. It knew what was coming, didn’t it? Kepi suddenly reared back and then released a massive jet of water, hitting the Nincada right in the face. As the Pokemon rolled away, Kepi released a second stream, hitting it in the stomach and rolling it further away. Elric tense slightly, watching with a focused expression as his Pokemon started to hop forward. The wild Pokemon wasn’t having any of that however, pushing itself right back up, though it already seemed to be really weak.
The Pokemon suddenly ducked underground, using dig to get away from the Chinchou in question. Suddenly grumpy at her losing sight of her prey, Kepi turned to look at Elric. Instinctively, he started to back away from the Chinchou, putting his hands up in mock defeat. He wasn’t looking to get on her bad side. “Pay attention, Kepi. It could jump out at any time,” Elric warned, motioning the Pokemon to look around herself. Giving a tiny huff, Kepi turned around slowly, suddenly getting hit by the Nincada jumping up from in the ground, headbutting the Chinchou in the chin. Kepi stumbled back, rolling a bit before pushing herself back onto her flippers.
“Alright,” Elric started carefully, “Hit it with another Hydro Pump, Kepi. Take it out right now.”
Sure he was rather demanding, what Gym Leader wasn’t with their Pokemon? He tried to forge bonds, yes, but at this moment in time he needed her to listen to him to the best of her ability. That meant not blowing up when something didn’t go her way. “Focus, Kepi!” Elric called out, watching the Chinchou starting to get a little angry. She instantly perked up, watching Elric with an understanding gaze. Nodding just slightly, the Chinchou put more focus on her opponent, rearing back and releasing yet another massive stream of water in the direction of the bug Pokemon. This time, it fainted, leaving Kepi standing there with a victorious feeling in her chest.
Grinning, Elric praised his Pokemon, “Great job, Kepi!” Then he paused to look up into the tree, alarm sparking in his chest as two more Nincada jumped down in front of the Chinchou. Gritting his teeth, Elric called out quickly, “Hit each one with a Hydro Pump. Get them off you!”
Kepi listened instantly, rearing back to throw one of the Nincada back with one Hydro Pump before focusing on the second one and doing the same thing. Both of the Nincada were thrown back and away and the Chinchou took a chance to get a hopping start, trying to back up little by little. The first Nincada rushed forward, swiping at Kepi with a Metal Claw before the second one rushed forward, hitting her with two more Metal claws. The first Nincada hit Kepi with a sand attack before they both jumped back and let out chittering noises, seeming aggravated.
Elric let out a small tisk, glaring forward, “Kepi, use Ice Beam on both of them. Then if you can, hit them both with another set of Hydro Pumps.”
Kepi nodded, steeling herself where she stood, letting out a warning cry at her opponents. The first ice beam hit the first Nincada directly, seeming to freeze the Pokemon up for a few moments. When Kepi released the second Ice Beam, it hit the Nincada in the side when it tried to run away. The Nincada rolled and stayed down, unable to move further. The first Nincada jumped up, seeming wary as it launched itself forward and hit Kepi with two metal claws. Seeming rather calm, but a little weak at the same time, Kepi released another Hydro Pump, instantly knocking out the Nincada who rolled away and remained down like it’s friend.
The Chinchou huffed heavily, looking a little tired, though she wasn’t seeming to catch a break. One last Nincada jumped from the tree, landing in front of Kepi and letting out angry chirps at her. Kepi stood up straight once more, glaring at the other Pokemon. She didn’t seem ready to give up no matter how exhausted she seemed to be. Kepi hopped a few times before looking to Elric for her commands.
He actually seemed to be getting somewhere with her and the very fact made him proud. He could train newly hatched Pokemon, it seemed. Nodding at her he called out to her again, “Another rain dance, Kepi. Then Ice Beam and Hydro Pump. Put it down and keep it down.”
Determined, the Chinchou started another rain dance, twirling in a circle before coming to a stop, the rain continuing to fall. Then she froze, staring right at the Nincada. Elric backed up slightly, “This can’t end well,” he muttered to himself. Kepi suddenly started to hop forward, rearing back and releasing an Ice Beam and then a Hydro Pump one after the other so they both hit the Pokemon at the exact same time. The Nincada rolled slightly and then dug it’s legs into the ground, stopping itself from sliding too far away. It’s legs froze up though, keeping it from running toward Kepi and attacking her.
Looking triumphant, Kepi bounced slightly, waiting for her trainer to give yet another order. Elric smirked to himself, “Use that combination again, Kepi. Just like you did before. Ice Beam and then Hydro Pump.”
The second Ice Beam hit the already frozen Nincada, making the bug Pokemon cry out before the Hydro Pump hit directly after. The Nincada wobbled on its legs before collapsing, fainting right in front of Kepi. The Chinchou was suddenly very excited, hopping up and down before turning and bouncing toward Elric. The Gym Leader grinned, crouching down and holding his arms out to his Pokemon, hoping that she wouldn’t shock him for giving her a hug. She jumped right into his arms, snuggling against him, proud of herself.
Elric chuckled, happy that he didn’t get zapped this time, pulling back and looking down at his Pokemon. “You look tired. How about you rest now, Kepi,” he noted softly, removing her Pokeball and attempting to return her to it. She refused and he let her be, letting her settle on the ground next to him as she looked up into the trees. Only then did he look back up into the trees. There were three other Pokemon waiting there, looking rather curious about the trainer who had taken down the Nincada. The first Ninjask flew down, hovering close to Elric before backing up and humming at him, clearly wanting to battle. Raising an eyebrow, Elric picked a different Pokeball from his belt, releasing his Helioptile.
Ostots jumped out and around, his ears buzzing up and down to make a helicopter-like noise. He looked excited and ready for a battle, the Ninjask watching him carefully. Elric nodded to his Pokemon, “Start with Charge, Ostots. Then hit it with a couple of Thunderbolts, will you?”
Ostots closed it’s eyes, focusing on charging up his power and engulfing himself in electricity. Elric grinned, leaning forward and focusing on the battle, he wanted to see what his Pokemon could really do. Ostots stared at the unmoving Ninjask for one fleeting moment before releasing a large bolt of thunder that struck the Ninjask. The wild Pokemon dropped slightly from the air before being hit by a second thunderbolt. Ostots looked determined to take it down and when the wild Pokemon started in Ostots’ direction, the Helioptile started to run in the other direction, trying to keep away from the attacks of the wild pokemon.
The Ninjask caught up, however, slashing at Ostots with its sharp claws twice before hitting Ostots with a sand attack. The Helioptile recovered quickly, taking Elric’s orders right as he gave them, “Charge and then two more Thunderbolts, Ostots!” Suddenly engulfed in more electricity, two bolts of lightning struck the Ninjask suddenly, one right after the other. The Ninjask dropped suddenly from the sky under the weight of the thunderbolts and fainted, landing on the ground with the other fainted bug Pokemon.
Ostots then brought his gaze up to the trees, eying one of the other Ninjasks who was suddenly flying down at him in a rage. The Ninjask slashed at Ostots, but he jumped away quickly evading the first slash, though he wasn’t able to avoid the second one. Growling at the Ninjask, he used the same moves that Elric had been telling him to all along, charging himself up with electricity before hitting the Ninjask with not one, but two bolts of thunder that brought the wild Pokemon right to the ground. The Ninjask was stunned but it soon lifted itself back into the air, launching forward and hitting Ostots with two bouts of Fury Cutter, the second attack doubly as powerful as the first.
Elric stood in place, a concentrated expression on his features, “Charge, Ostots, and then hit it with two Parabolic Charges. Restore your energy.”
The Helioptile nodded, feeling his skin charge with static before he jolted forward, hitting the Ninjask head on and shocking it with a charge that then returned energy to the Helioptile. With the second hit, the Helioptile had quite a bit of energy returned to him and was jumping back, glaring at the Ninjask who was just barely able to fly still.
Said Ninjask was already flying back toward Ostots, but the Helioptile was ready. It charged itself with electricity and hit the Ninjask with another bolt of lightning to counter the wild Pokemon's attack. With the second Ninjask fainted, that left just one more. Ostots glared up into the trees, daring it to come down and meet him. He was clearly ready for this.
The last Ninjask flew down quickly, acting much like the one before, aiming slashes right at Ostots, which the Helioptile countered with two thunderbolts, making the pokemon drop and sit on the ground for a few moments before it rushed forward, aiming two fury cutters at the Helioptile, hitting Ostots directly and forcing the Pokemon backwards before it used sand attack, throwing sand into the Pokemons eyes.
Growling, Ostots shook his head and rubbed at his eyes, trying to rid himself of the sand that was really starting to burn. Angrily, he charged up with Electricity once more, jolting forward blindly, using Thunderbolt to try and force the Ninjask away until he could regain his vision. He continued to shake his head, even falling onto all fours, blinking a few times until his vision cleared up, leaving him glaring at the wild pokemon.
Elric cleared his throat, "Use charge, then Parabolic charge. When you're done, hit it with on more Thunderbolt and bring it down."
The Helioptile, plenty irritated by it's opponent, suddenly changes with electricity, rushing forward for the last time and striking the Ninjask, taking a bit of its health. As he jumped back, he released one last Thunderbolt, dropping the enemy Pokemon in a single instant. Ostots landed on his feet, looking excitedly up at Elric, hoping for some sort of praise. Elric pumped his fist into the air, grinning happily, "You did it! Great job, Ostots!"

[attr="class","elricscroll"]Could Elric ever get a break? How many hordes of Pokemon was he going to be bombarded with? Obviously too many. Irritation sparked in Elric's chest and he let out a very irritated 'tsk', glaring ahead at the sudden horde of monkey-like Pokemon standing in front of him and Ostots. His concentration on the horde was shaken when a bright light next to him overtook his vision. Ostots was evolving, and while Elric was overjoyed that another one of his Pokemon was becoming stronger right before his eyes, he also knew that he needed to keep an eye on the Pokemon in front of him. There were nine of them by his count, all of various levels of evolution. He assumed the smaller ones where the lesser-leveled Pokemon and the larger ones were far stronger.
Ostots let out a short cry from next to Elric, trying to get his trainers attention. Elric smiled down at the Pokemon, patting his head gently. "I think I'm going to start running, buddy. I really don't want to fight this many Pokemon at once," he started, rubbing the back of his neck. He returned the Heliolisk to his Pokeball and then turned tail, starting to run in the other direction. The further away from these monkeys that he could get, the better. He really just wanted to meet one Pokemon, let Ignition battle one time, and then go home. He was tired and his Pokemon needed to rest as well.
When he was sure that he was far enough away, he breathed out a sigh of relief. All safe... for now.

[attr="class","elricscroll"]Ignition seemed ready as soon as Elric released him from his Pokeball, the Flaaffy letting out a small cheer. He was happy to be free and able to battle like the rest of his teammates. Elric couldn't blame the Flaaffy. Everyone else had their turn, save for Uplink, but Elric knew the other Pokemon had been working hard as it was. Elric grinned and pat Ignition's head, watching the Pichu that had popped up in their path with a small smile.
"We're going to try and catch this one, alright, buddy? I have someone in mind that might like this little guy," he noted to his Pokemon. Ignition nodded and scampered forward, ready to battle. "It's the same type as you, so I need you to start with Charge, Ignition. Then use Thunder."
The Pichu, who had gone from sweet to hostile in a matter of moments started to spark with electricity as soon as Ignition started toward him. The Flaaffy's fur was starting to crackle with an electric charge and he was moving at a full run. However, he stopped short, rearing up and suddenly dropping a Thunder onto the tiny Pokemon, throwing it back and away from him. The Pichu rolled along the ground, shooting back up quickly to fight back.
"Use Confuse Ray," Elric noted calmly, focused on the battle at hand.
Nodding, Ignition suddenly released a flash of light that made the Pichu start to stagger once more. It shook it's head a few times, glaring at Elric with hate filled eyes. It was a feisty one, wasn't it? Irritated, the Pichu shot forward, planting a Sweet Kiss on Ignition's cheek. The Flaaffy made a face and Elric had to hold back laughter. The Flaaffy didn't really enjoy the other Pokemon kissing him, let alone confusing his mind. Ignition shook the Pichu off, but was suddenly met with two Thunder Shocks one after the other. Yelping, Ignition staggered back and watched the Pichu in intense confusion.
Angry now, Ignition used Charge once more, jolting forward and hitting the Pichu in a headbutt, using Discharge. As the Pichu rolled away from him, too disoriented and confused to tell which way was up, Ignition hit it with one last Thunder before staggering back and falling on his butt, shaking his head over and over, trying to rid himself of the cloudiness. Figuring the Pichu was weak enough, Elric tossed a Pokeball forward in an attempt to capture the Pichu.

[attr="class","elricscroll"]What the hell was it with all of these stupid hordes of Pokemon?! Ignition was just shaking off his confusion when, low and behold, fucking birds everywhere. Not just one or two, but six of them. Two Pidgeotto and three Pidgey. Elric didn't know what to think. He had dealt with so many Pokemon that day that he just wanted to go home. Yet, their job wasn't done. If this was going to be their last battle of the day, might as well bring a few Pokemon back to show for it, right? Smirking to himself, he motioned toward Ignition, "You well enough to fight a few of these birds, Ignition?"
The Flaaffy nodded, stepping up in front of Elric with a determined expression on his features. Not wanting his friend to fight off a lot of these Pokemon on his own, Elric released both his Jolteon and his Galvantula to fight alongside the other Pokemon. With three of them fighting the birds, this would be over in no time, wouldn't it?
Elric motioned forward to his Pokemon. Ignition planted himself in front of a Pidgeotto, and Voltage did the same. Perun put himself in the path of a Pidgey, jittering excitedly at the prospect of battle. It had been so long since he'd gotten to be up close and personal with an opponent. This was perfect. Elric took a few steps back, ready for the battle to begin.
"Ignition, start with Charge and move right into Thunder. When you're finished, Safeguard the whole field," Elric instructed before turning to Voltage. "Use Agility, then Thunderwave. Then I want you to hit it with Thunder. Perun," Elric was finishing up his orders, watching the Pokemon with a small smirk still, "Use Agility and then hit that Pidgey with two Thunderbolts."
With his Pokemon having been given their starting orders, all three turned back toward their opponents.
------ FLAAFFY ------
Ignition's fur started to crackle with electricity, electrically charging his body. He wiggled a bit, trying to taunt the large bird that was simply staring him down, it's wings pulled out slightly. It didn't seem to know how to take the small sheep-like Pokemon, so it simply tilted its head, watching with a mildly amused expression. That was, however, until Ignition shot forward suddenly, charged with electricity and then striking the bird with a shock of thunder. The Pidgeotto screeched and flew backwards suddenly, squalling angrily as it headed right toward the Flaaffy, wanting sudden revenge. Ignition got the Safeguard up just in time.
He just barely avoided the Feather Dance that the other Pokemon had thrown at him. That wasn't all the Pidgeotto threw at him, though. Having been focused on avoiding the weird feathers that floated down around him, Ignition hadn't been paying enough attention to the Pokemon he was battling. The Flaaffy was bowled over by a Quick Attack and then thrown further away by a Gust that the Pidgeotto released almost instantly after.
Ignition rolled along the ground a bit before pushing himself back up with a frustrated cry toward the bird. Oh, he wasn't done with his feathered opponent just yet. Shaking himself off, his fur started to charge with electricity once again, charging up his fur before releasing yet another Thunder at the Pidgeotto. It struck the Pokemon once more, but Ignition wasn't finished. Jolting forward suddenly, he headbutted into the birds chest, using Discharge at the same time. The bird rolled away from the Flaaffy, obviously down for the count. Elric through an Ultra Ball, then, in an attempt to catch the bird.
------ JOLTEON ------
Voltage was having the same luck with the bird Pokemon. He'd started off at the same time as Ignition, shooting forward with a burst of speed. As soon as he hit the bird head on, he used Thunderwave, paralyzing the Pokemon. The bird couldn't very well fly without fear of its body locking up and it falling back to the ground, so it tried to hop away from Voltage's next attack. A bolt of Thunder struck the bird anyway, forcing it back away from Voltage.
The Jolteon settled into a defensive stance, keeping his head down and his body tense. He was ready for anything that the bird could throw at him. And throw things at him the bird could do. Voltage tensed at the sight of the Twister heading straight toward him, though he wasn't fast enough to escape it. He rolled away a bit, pushing himself to his paws right as a second Twister hit him and threw him backward.
It was safe to say that the Jolteon was irritated by then, pushing himself up once more and letting out a soft hiss of anger toward his opponent. He used Agility then, shooting forward once more, coupling it with a Quick Attack. Voltage, almost as soon as he hit the bird, released a Discharge of electricity, shocking the large bird once more. The Pidgeotto reached out in an attempt to claw at Voltage, flapping it's wings and using Gust to throw the Pokemon back once more. When it tried to attack again, it found itself unable to move, paralyzed by the previous Thunderwave that it had been hit with.
Voltage, thoroughly finished with this battle, shot forward with yet another Agility, striking with one final Discharge before the Pidgeotto went down for the count. Elric threw yet another Ultra Ball, trying to catch the second Pidgeotto.
------ GALVANTULA ------
The spider was so excited to battle. He didn't even care that he was fighting a tiny little bird. He just wanted to battle. He skittered back and forth, letting out cute, taunting chirps at the Pidgey he was hell bent on beating, hopping up and down just a bit. The Pidgey, already annoyed by the spider, made the first moves. starting out with Agility and shooting forward. It used Tailwind directly after, gaining a speed boost before releasing an Air Slash at Perun. The spider took the hit, sliding back a bit and shaking the attack off. Oh, he wasn't annoyed or anything. He was excited.
This was exciting to him.
Finally following Elric's orders, Perun shot forward, using Agility and heading straight for the bird. He struck the bird once, using Thunderbolt once to push the bird backwards and then again just out of spite. The bird dropped to the ground, flapping its wings irritably, in quite a bit of pain from the attacks. The Pidgey attempted to come at Perun with another Air Slash, but he was quick to dodge the attack.
Instead, Perun decided to be a little creative. Using Double Team, he made a few copies of himself, running around the bird to try and disorient it. It wasn't too hard. The bird was already in quite a bit of pain. Perun just had to add insult to injury, though, spitting up acid onto the Pidgey with Gastro Acid and removing the Pidgey's previous stat boosts. Already bored of the fight, Perun then used Toxic, spitting poison at the small bird Pokemon. The clones disappeared as the Pidgey simply lay on the ground. Elric through a Pokeball in an attempt to capture the Pokemon.
With three of the birds caught, the two other Pidgey all flew in the other direction, not wanting to battle like the other three had. That left Elric with three Pokeballs, waiting to see if all of them were caught. His Pokemon crowded around him, rubbing against him in affectionate triumph. Elric bent down to give his Pokemon some love, grinning, "You guys all did great. I'm proud of you."

[attr="class","elricscroll"]This was just great. He totally wasn't expecting that third Pidgeotto to swoop down and go right for him. Elric put his Flaaffy and Jolteon back in their Pokeball, ducking and then rolling onto his stomach. He stared up with wide eyes, pointing toward the large bird flying above, "Perun, we're going to take it down." He was quick to order, receiving a nod from the Galvantula who was still pretty excited to battle. He also wasn't as injured as the other two. He could fight at least one more battle.
"I want you to use Magnet Rise first. Then start out by using Thunderbolt twice. I want you to bring it down to our level, Perun," Elric called out, still laying on his stomach on the leaf-littered ground. The Galvantula was already floating around, speeding back and forth quickly to try and draw the birds attention, especially since he was still directed at Elric. It was angry that he had caught its friends, apparently.
Perun started off with the first Thunderbolt, hitting the Pidgeotto dead on in the chest and making it drop in altitude. Though, now it targeted the spider Pokemon. As soon as the bird got close enough, Perun zapped the bird a second time, letting out a gleeful cry at how nice the battle was already going. He strafed to the left to avoid a gust, but couldn't get out of the way of the second gust fast enough. He was pushed back away from the bird. The Pidgeotto then hurled sand in Perun's direction, trying to break the spiders accuracy.
Not phased too much, and having way too much fun, Perun shook off the sand quickly, blinking his eyes until it was out of his vision. He then floated close to the bird, rearing back and spitting poison onto it, making it drop to the ground with a heavy thud. Perun chirped at the bird as he floated around it, shocking the bird with Thunder Wave to paralyze it, letting it stew in the poison. He then finished the bird off with a third Thunderbolt, draining the rest of it's health and making it faint.
Relieved that he wasn't going to be dive bombed anymore, Elric reached for a third Ultra Ball, throwing it directly at the bird Pokemon in an attempt to catch this last Pokemon. Then they could go home and rest up. He was sure all of his Pokemon truly needed it at this point.
