Miguel's stomach dropped. "Oh hell. Not again.”
This time was even worse considering that he was trapped between a wall and a statue with very little leeway to move. If this was another trap, then he would be forced to climb up the statue or the wall, and he didn't like his chances with either of them.
Ruuuuuumble.... He didn't get a chance to think on it further as the entire room began to shake violently, making him stumble and lean on the statue like he had been trying to avoid all this time.
”GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Miguel's stomach dropped even further and he could even almost feel his heart seizing in his chest when the part of the statue he had been leaning on gave way to his weight, dropping him down into the statue and what looked like the endless abyss.
This was not his day. So not his day at all! This was the last time he was going to venture into these ruins without back-up right next to him!
Of course, it didn't occur to him at all that maybe he should stop trying to take ruin treasures from their rightful resting places, but villains don't have time for that kind of silly thinking. Not when he was busy screaming to his doom.

AS SOON AS THE LIGHTS GO DOWN THE SHADOWS ARE ON YOUR SIDE With his free-fall, Miguel was starting to panic. Upon feeling the first trickles of panic though, his training kicked in, making him instinctively take deep breaths and calm himself enough. Once his mind was calm enough, it then raced to find a solution to his free-fall to death problem.
A proverbial light bulb lit up, making him grin and pull out a pokeball from his jacket pocket. He then pointed the pokeball down and released the pokemon within.
Miguel, what-? Ravenna thought as she was released from her pokeball, only for her eyes to bug out when she saw that her trainer's body was fast approaching hers in free-fall. Miguel! Snapping into action, she flew towards her trainer with powerful flaps of her wings until she reached his shoulders. At that instant, she snagged his shoulders, then flapped her wings to counter the downward pull of gravity. Both of their hearts leaped into their throats then the two of them sank down despite the flapping, but she refused to quit and continued flapping until she was able to slow down and cancel out the force pulling them both down entirely.
Of course, it was also helped by the fact that Miguel managed to hold onto something on the wall that didn't give into his weight. It took him two tries to do just that because the first try ended up with a similar orb prying loose into his hands, forcing him to put in both orbs into his bag during free-fall. Easier said that done, but he managed to do it.
