After recovering from that unwanted incident that had to do with two crowns, a dead man’s skull and some weird obstacle that she’d literally tripped over in the darkness while trying to get down from the tower in the Ruins—Rachel was back once more. She’d spent a few days in bed, an ice pack placed over the places where it really hurt the most; and after that little spell of staying trapped in bed, she decided to go out again and explore once more. The silence while in bed was killing her—the only time she could leave the room was if she needed to use the bathroom, and that didn’t come too often enough! She’d decided to sneak out of the hotel room where her troupe mates were holed up; making sure that she was bundled up against the cold weather. Several hours of hiking on foot later, she finally arrived at the Ruins—even if it was snowing, they still looked imposing, even if topped with freshly-fallen snow; they were still rather intimidating for those who weren’t proper explorers. Well, the proper term would be raiders, or something along those lines. Robbers? I doubt it… because these don’t just appear from out of nowhere and just have oodles of stuff to stumble on and find by chance… she mused as she then reached for a flash light and clicked it open. Once she was prepared, she then began her trek into the imposing entrance that was standing before her, smelling of damp, mold and who knew what else. 1 of 4 for February

Rachel began to traverse through the place, flickering the beam of the flash light up and down. She was about to turn left at the first room that she saw…when she felt her right foot step down on something. her ears suddenly tensed and prickled up; before smelling something rather… odd. She then caught the sharp odor of something rather rancid, and felt her stomach do a belly-flop; for she’d just stepped on some guano. Wondering what the hell could have caused a landmine of this size to appear, she then wrinkled her nose up out of disgust; before making a mental note to scrape and scrub her boots rather thoroughly later. Once the little debacle regarding the landmine had been cleared—with much scraping and scuffling of her boot against the stone floor—she finally pulled herself into the room that she’d been meaning to poke around in since earlier. There was a faint trace of mold; and the place really looked like it had been flipped on its side, a bid to strip it of all valuable content. Sighing, she was about to turn around and leave the place alone—when she caught sight of something glittering, half-hidden underneath some smashed remains of who-knew-what it was. Crouching down as best as she could (in order to avoid the rather overpowering smell coming from her right foot), she then reached in as quickly as she could and grabbed the sparkling thing before the piece of rubble finally gave way and caved in. Now that she was standing up again, Rachel took another look at the thing she was holding—and blinked; to make sure she wasn’t seeing things; because this was one of the earliest things she’d found back then! “Sweet, never underestimate the power of a duplicate,” she cracked with a grin as she then turned around and made a bid to leave the room—when the entrance suddenly began to shake violently. “Oh, not again…” she groaned before smacking a palm to her forehead, before pocketing the latest find.
