Jax wandered the mountainside of the wilds, jogging along side his Electrike, Sparky. The sun was shining brightly with few clouds in the sky to obscure the sunlight shining down on the side of the cliff he was walking along. It wasn't at the real edge as much as it was just right next to the mountainside.Sparky yipped excitedly along the boys side, barking and hopping a few bounds ahead before stopping and turning to see where his master was. "Trike!!". Sparky sat down, watching his master jog over. His black shorts with a black shirt held in the sunlight, making the cool breeze not seem as bad as it was before. The three neon blue stars on his shirt made him stand out though, along the mountainside, and his black shoes with neon blue soles were not helping either.
"Finally. You know I can't run as fast as you Sparky." He laughed as he would run over towards the Electrike, who was sitting in front of a cave. "What's that?" Jax questioned, squinting hard down the cave.
It was a Rhydon, and it didn't look too happy. Jax backed up some with Sparky and couldn't command him to attack, in this environment against a wild rhydon, his poor electrike wouldn't stand a chance against this beast. "RETURN!" Jax cried out while the Rhydon was in mid charged.
Sparky was withdrawn to the ball and Jax wasted no time attaching the ball to his hip while he turned to run. The boy pushed as hard as he could with his legs, going down a hill some, trying to lose the massive Pokemon behind him. It was useless though, as it caught his back and knocked him into the air. Jax skidded some with a thud on the hard ground and slipped over a cliff ledge. Through the flash of pain he felt from the headbutt, he was capable of grabbing the edge of the cliff.
The Rhydon seemed to have thought it was successful in chasing off the mountainside, considering he could hear it stomping away. Jax groaned some though as he tried to pull his self up, but the ledge have way, dropping him onto another cliff 15 feet below. Jax landed with a crack, off and thud. Blacking out in contact.
the day was almost passed, cause when Jax opened his eyes, he noticed the sun was only a couple of hours away from setting over the horizon. He groaned out in pain some from where his back was struck, but then felt a pain in his shoulder. He looked over, frightened, and noted that it was dislocated. Jax tried to refrain from crying as he picked up his phone with one hand. Pain almost blinded Jax as he pushed the buttons to call the Rangers.
"Hello, Rangers dispatch, what's your emergency?" A woman over the line asked him.
"I... I fell onto a cliff.. It hurts... I can't get to the ground or back up to the mountain path." He whined out the words through a filter of pain. His shoulder sent ripples of different painful sensations through his body with every breath he drew in that was too big. He still held back sobbing noises, but was still crying, sniffing occasionally. From what he could see by looking over, is that he was still above the free tops. And none of his pokemon were suitable for getting him back up or down, neither was his equipment.
dispatch stayed on the line with him, reassuring him and checkif his condition every so often, no matter how much he wanted to go to sleep, Jax kept his eyes open and kept trying to reply to the lady over dispatch.

Crumpling his trash and tossing it into a wastebin, the white Ranger brought two fingers to his mouth and whistled. As he left the cafe, his partner, a large Arcanine, bounded over to him, stopping only to let his trainer climb atop his back. With Rikkan in position, Rune began to walk at a brisk pace to the outskirts of the city. Once there, the great wolf nearly disappeared on a flash of dust, heading out into the desert at blinding speed. He was still on patrol for the day, not much interesting had happened, until he got a call from Alice.
"Slow down, Rune." The Arcanine slowwed to a speedy jog to eliminate throwing so much wind in Rik's face as he pulled out the radio phone. "Rikkan here." "Rik, we've got a traveler stuck in the mountains, likely injured. He's fallen off the path, and is unable to return to it or descend the mountainside. The mountains make a pinpoint location impossible, but League dispatch managed to triangulate the signal to an area in the Eastern range. I'm sending the data to your PDA." "Roger that." Rune tilted his head to throw a quizzical glance at Rik. "Eastern range, buddy. We gotta move."
Rikkan crouched back down to eliminate wind resistance as Rune sped back up to full speed, slowly turning in a large arc, his new destination to the East. Within minutes they arrived at the mountainous regions of Nue, and Rikkan pulled out his PDA, keying in a command to bring up the estimated location of their injured traveler. When they were within range, he pulled two pokeballs from his pockets, throwing them both into the air. The Noivern and Aerodactyl that emerge would glide down, keeping pace with Rune. "We're looking for a traveler who's stuck on a ledge, or something like that! He may be injured!"
Both fliers nodded before zooming off into the mountain range to find their target. Meanwhile, Rune and Rikkan reached the hiking trail and began to ascend the mountain, searching on their own by foot, albeit at a much slower pace than before. It didn't take long for Aerodactyl's keen eyesight to pick up a small boy on a tiny ledge. The flier dove down to see, and sure enough the boy was stuck. He didn't appear to be moving too much, the injury Rikkan hinted at, so she couldn't just pick him up and return him to the path, so she went to find Rikkan, letting out a loud screech, signaling her discovery.
Down the trail, Rik heard the screech and stopped. Giving Rune a pat, he jumped off and recalled the wolf to his pokeball. The Aerodactyl soon found him and descended to the ground, crouching down for Rikkan to jump on. Aerodactyl brought the Ranger to where she found the boy. "That looks like our guy. Fly closer." She descended towards the ledge, hovering just beside it. "Hey! Are you awake?"
the boy watched sun set more, powerless tore ally do anything while he was lying there in pain. His back was throbbing, his head was throbbing, his shoulder was sending a racking pain through his body and now, his fingers were becoming numb. He had stopped crying by now, mainly due to his tear ducts drying out and becoming swollen. His breathing slowed down and his Jolteon and Electrike had laid theirselves over his legs to try and help keep him warm.
He heard a screech and used his eyes to look up at the pokemon. Hopefully, it was help cause it flew away. His two Pokemon were now on edge, bristling with him and waiting for signs that it was help and not just a pokemon that was saving him for later.
A voice echoed down to him and all he could do was try and reply with a yes. His words barely came out and his two Pokemon were already relaxing and barking up at the Aerodactyl and trainer. His tunnel vision faded out again, and allowed him to see more. White, this person appeared to be covered in the color white. He couldn't tell to well. He still just wanted to fall asleep.

The answer that came from the boy was barely audible, but the fact that he answered was still an indication that he was indeed still awake and alive. The ledge was of fair size, but not big enough that he felt confident that it would hold both their weight, so Rik observed from atop his Aerodactyl's back. The boy didn't appear to have any especially threatening injuries from a physical appearance, but the long fall it would have taken to reach this ledge from the path indicated more than just a little bump. No wonder he couldn't move... In such a state, carrying him with Aerodactyl would likely invoke further pain and injury. "Storm, Lift off."
Into the air he threw a pokeball, the Electivire appearing high up in the air, falling down until he leveled himself via magnetic energy, floating in the air beside them. "Take him up to the path above." Storm moved to pick up the young trainer, glancing at his Pokemon. "Don't worry, he'll be just fine!" The Electivire scooped the trainer up in his massive paws, careful to keep from moving him around too much and ascending up to the mountain path. "Move in a bit." He called to his Aerodactyl. She moved closer to the ledge, where Rikkan gestured to the trainers Pokemon. "Climb on, I ain't leaving you behind."
Both Electivire and Aerodactyl ascended back up the mountainside to the hiking trail. Rikkan held his fingers to his mouth and whistled before jumping off Aerodactyl's back and walking over to Storm and the trainer, his hand on another pokeball. "Storm, go ahead and put him down." The ranger pulled out the pokeball and opened it, a Ralts appearing at his feet. "Chelinka, use Heal Pulse." But instead of obeying, she folded her arms and looked away.... "Chelinka, please..." Her past experience with humans has left her less than willing to help them.
Chelinka doesn't actually trust Rikkan yet, she's kinda anti-human. You'll need to talk to her via your Pokemon.
He and his Pokemon watched the man from the ledge with caution. Now, he would have been completely enthralled by that Electivire if he wasn't laying there, possibly about to lose his arm. It came down to him and reached towards him. Oh Arceus, Jax knew what was about to happen. When he was lifted up by Storm, he cried out in pain. His shoulder felt like it was going to explode. Using his good arm, he clutched onto Storm's fur. His two Pokemon weren't too happy, but they got up there with the crowd and dealt with it.
When he was let down, he let out a groan. He didn't want to be up here, what if the Rhydon came back? He squirmed some and cried out again, looking at the man, and the ralts that reminded him a lot of his Pichu, Photon.
Sparky, growled some, being the easily riled Pokemon, he wasn't fit to speak to the ralts. So Terabyte had to speak up. "jolt!" "our master is in much pain, little Pokemon. Why are you being so cold? He has never harmed a Pokemon? what is the matter?" Terabyte attempted to reason with the Pokemon, he didn't want his master to die yet. That, could be bad. What would Elric think of them?

"Our master is in much pain, little Pokemon. Why are you being so cold? He has never harmed a Pokemon? What is the matter?"
Chelinka gave a disdained glance towards the Jolteon, clearly unwilling to help a filthy human. "All humans are bad! I don't want to help any of them... But fine. You'll just end up finding out how bad they can be..." She shuffled up closer to the young boy and concentrated, feeling the pain he felt but not actually experiencing it, though that isn't to say she didn't reel back from the sensation. Holding her arms out, a deep pulse could be seen traveling from the Ralts into the human, a pulse of energy that would mend some of the damage done in the fall. It wouldn't be a total heal, but it would ease the bones and muscles, mending the bruising.
"Thank you, Chelinka..." She folded her arms, refusing to look at Rikkan as he returned her to her pokeball. Now for the hard part, returning to a town. Rik walked over to the boy and knelt down before him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You'll be fine for now, but you still need to see a doctor..... Can you stand up?" The ranger held out his hand to the boy, an offer to help him to his feet. The sooner they got out of here, the better. The sun had reached the horizon, it was a race against time to survive the frigid cold. He certainly had the Pokemon to help with such a situation, but this kid needed a doctor soon.
Heal Pulse would heal up the immediate damage, allowing him to move without pain for awhile, it's kinda like an anaesthetic and a healing gel in one, lol.
Yep, Elric was definitely going to tear into him when he returned home. His shoulder was still dislocated, and he still wanted to fall asleep. Some of the events started to blur as he watched the pokemon continue to speak. "thank you Chelinka. Our master will surely appreciate your gracious actions." Terabyte kept the professional tone with the small ralts, turning his attention back to Sparky and moving to his side, sitting at the feet of Jax.
Can you stand? Arceus no. It all hurt so bad, but he had to get down the mountain side, even with his possible concussion. He was out for while... He thinks. "I.... El... Bro...." Jax would groan painfully, his one good hand sweeping the air reflexively. What was he doing? He groaned once more and looked at Rikkan. Come on Jax, answer his question. "... Y.. " he would blink several time, his mind turning to his continuously numbing hand. "Eeeh.. I." He still choked on words, starting to sob some before sucking it up. "I.. Y.. Yea."
He began to struggle to his feet, only one arm able of doing anything. His legs throbbed with surges of pain and his head began to spin. He almost collapsed to the ground with another thud, but he was able to grasp enough strength to come to his feet, wobbly, but on his feet. His two Pokemon began to pace and backed up some, folding their ears. The man was right, he needed to go see a doctor, he felt pretty shitty.

The boy's response was again difficult to make out, but he made an effort to climb to his feet. With the sun rapidly descending, they had to hurry. Damnit Sinrei, where are you?! As if on queue, a Noivern came swooping in from the mountain pass, landing nearby. ""You need to return your Pokemon." With that, he puled out two pokeballs, returning Storm with one and opening the other, the Arcanine once again emerging. "Aroo?""The sun is setting, so you'll be following Sinrei by scent." The wolf nodded to the Ranger, understanding what he was saying.
Rune is an amazing athletic Pokemon, capable of high speeds, but being used to the bright levels of the desert, his night vision suffered horrendously. One way around this is when Rune can follow another Pokemon by scent, a Pokemon who can see perfectly well in the dark, and is even pretty fast as well. Noivern fit this bill. Another pokeball was pulled out to return Aerodactyl before Rik finally came back over to Jax. "You ready? We've got some distance to cover to reach the closest city, but my Arcanine will keep us from freezing." Indeed, Rune strolled over to the pair, his body heat visibly radiating off of him in the rapidly dropping temperature.
Jax was wobbling on his feet, not really picking up anything that Rikkan was saying, so in his stead, Sparky and Terabyte returned their selves to their balls with their noses, gently touching them as to make sure they wouldn't knock Jax onto his face. His eyes wandered over to the other Pokemon being withdrawn and then they wandered to the Arcanine.
The heat was nice, it made him want to just, curl up in his mane and fall asleep. He looked up at him with tired eyes. The Arcanine reminded him of the old one his father used to have before it passed. Or at least, that's what he thought happened to it, his dad didn't tell him what had happened to the Pokemon, so he could only assume what they did with him.
He looked up at it weakly, reaching his good arm forward to pet the Pokemon where he was standing, marveling at the warmth. His T-shirt and shorts would do no good against the falling temperature. Was the temperature falling? He couldn't register the cold, he didn't feel it anymore, and he didn't feel his right arm anymore. His fingers would occasionally twitch and he would ignore them. Color remained, meaning he retained blood flow, but his nerves were becoming pinched further into the dislocation, causing paralysis of that arm. But the shoulder itself would still throb in pain that he wasn't too aware of anymore. Sleep. He just wanted to nap.

It was a wonder there was no snow around this area of the mountains. Perhaps it was the proximity to the dry desert that meant that water did not fall here, but it was a good thing nonetheless. The boy didn't seem to hear him, though his Pokemon seemed to understand, who proceeded to activate their own pokeballs. "Sinrei, fly low so that Rune can pick up your scent. Lead us down the path and towards Wizen." Noivern were known for their speed and their ability to navigate in pitch black environments, much like bats. His Noivern, Sinrei, nodded his head at the command, giving Rune a glance, who also returned the gaze.
Rune turned back to the child, nuzzling the boy. the child was freezing cold already, if he was stuck out here overnight, there was no doubt that in the subzero temperatures of the desert night, he would have frozen. Rikkan walked back over to Jax and waved for Rune to move forward and step up next to them, crouching down. Rik helped the youth onto Rune's back before climbing on himself, sitting behind Jax to hold the boy in place. "Everyone, move out!" The sun finally faded below the horizon, casting the landscape into twilight, lighting up the desert in a beautiful light. They didn't have time to enjoy the view, though, and Sinrei leapt into the air, gliding around to the hiking trail and flying down it, Rune in pursuit.
The Arcanine was more than a little nervous about running alongside a steep drop-off, but the fading twilight left a small amount of light left for him navigate on his own. Soon enough, though, even the twilight faded away, and they were left in a darkening landscape of dusk. Noivern was a fast flier, but it wasn't anything an Arcanine couldn't keep up with, and Sinrei led the group across the sliver of desert to the city...
He was lifted up and placed onto the back of the Arcanine, he turned his head some to look at the other trainer before he just laid forward into the fur. His shirt sleeves flapped in the wind some and he watched the terrain go by.
Oooh. Pretty. The sun light lit up the tree tops and filtered through the trees as they finally reached the bottom of the mountain. His eyes began to drift closed, feeling a throbbing sensation in the back of his head, it made him want to rest more. It was all so relaxing. He dug his fingers into the thick Arcanine fur and buried his face into it.
The bouncing hurt his arm more and more, but it didn't matter. He sat up though and looked over at the male behind him, bumping into him and just deciding to lay back forward. Yes, that would work.

Within the radiant heat of the Arcanine, the child was beginning to warm up, meaning that sleep wasn't a death sentence anymore. This was fortunate, as he seemed to be very tired. It would be a long trip to the city, as Rune couldn't run full speed on the dark. Traditionally Sinrei was his nighttime transportation, but even being a dragon, Sinrei wasn't built to carry multiple passengers.
It was around midnight when they reached the city. Sinrei returned to his pokeball as the city lights were more than enough illumination for Rune. The hospital wasn't hard to locate, and eventually Jax was taken to a hospital room to recover. Before leaving, Rik stepped over to the receptionist and flashed his badge. He had to contact this kid's parents. "League Ranger Rikkan Aurelia. I need to know if there's anyone I can contact, someone who's in charge of him.""His credentials identify him as Jax Ryder. Mr. Elric Caulfield is his legal guardian, you can contact him at this number." Rikkan.blinked. The gym leader? Huh, that was..... interesting.
Elric was the only person that would take this little vandal in. After they had a short battle outside of the gym, despite his horrible loss, the older man still found him to be capable of becoming stronger and through several processes, Elric instated Jax as his co-leader despite his history as a vandal.
The doctors had already reset Jax's shoulder and secured it. His back and neck were bruised, but luckily, not fractured or broken. His ankle was sprained and he had muscle damage along the leg with the sprained ankle. His chest was bruised and he had a developing black eye from where he had landed on the ground and skid across the rocks to the ledge he originally fell off of. He did have a concussion though, and even though the hypothermia cleared up, he was still gonna have memory issues of the event. Some nurses were watching him now and happy. More than anything, Jax was just going to be really sore, and probably have a throbbing headache for a week or so. He groaned when he woke up and looked over to see Sparky and Terabyte resting in the window, soaking in sun, enjoying the warmth.
"How.... What ..." He tried to figure out what he wanted to ask, all of the event right now were a blur. "How did I get here?" When he asked the question, Sparky and Terabyte walked over to his bedside and barked softly, wiggling their tails at him.

With a sigh, he ended the call with the gym leader. Rik didn't know about the relation between the boy and Elric, but the gym leader seemed to care about the boy, at least judging from his response. For a while he lay back in the chair waiting for some news, which finally came. A nurse walked over to inform him that they were finished, giving him the news about the seriousness of the event. It was apparently worse than he thought.
Moments later, he stepped into the room where Jac was held. "They tell me that you broke some stuff, but you'll recover without any permanent damage." A chair was left over in the corner, which Rik stride over to and sat down in. "Name's Rikkan, I'm a Ranger with the League. You're lucky I got to you when I did, no way you would have survived out in the mountains at night... I've called Elric and he says he's on his way."
Pain flared in Jax's chest as the pain killers began to wear off. His eyes squeezed shut as the doctors walked in carrying a brown folder, taking out X-rays to show just how much damage was done to the boy's chest. His ribs were broken, 8 of them to be exact. His chest walls flared with a great amount of agony and he groaned out some as they mentioned he would be in a chest cast for a couple of months, as well as the fact that he can't exercise or do anything vigorous at all.
He wanted to cry out for Elric, but he stayed strong and looked over to his Electrike and Jolteon, both looking at him worriedly. Stay strong Jax, it won't be much longer and they'll ease your pain some... hopefully.
