Flash City.
The place was nothing but glitz, glamour, celebrities—the whole ten yards. It was definitely twice as lively as compared to the Unovan version of “Hollywood”, not to mention twice as large. Or maybe even three times as large! But today, Rachel was out on a walk, just relaxing and unwinding. The construction on the theater complex where they would be working was already full underway, but the problem was that they were now looking for a place to crash in until the theater itself (along with living quarters) would be completed. It was a sign that their move was officially complete; and that there would be no more turning back anymore.
I wonder how Maman and Papan feel about me moving all the way out here. I know she’d encourage me to go and widen my world, but him? Well, I’ll still try to visit Castelia from time to time. I know that the Unovan crowd was sorely upset to see us go, but what’s done is done, she began to muse to herself, digging through her pocket and then pulling out a pair of shades—what was it with the floor tiles of the city, and why were they lighting up like those weird dinky little squares that she’d see on computer screens whenever one would poke them with the mouse pointer? “Bleah, they really need to turn the lights down on the tiles, and I mean like seriously…” she muttered to herself, not realizing that she’d said it out loud… before looking around rather shiftily.
Merde, have to learn how to not voice out my thoughts out loud. Bad habit of mine… she thought, trying to suppress the urge to just scream at everything she saw—because wherever she looked, the emotions of the people (and to an extent, the Pokémon they had with them) were starting to overwhelm her. Is it as bad as it was at Richissime in Lumiose? I hope not… she mused once more as she continued to look around a lot more warily now.

Sarah had to admit she really liked being in this new region, it was a nice holiday, being unknown, so far she hadn’t been hounded for autographs, or crazed reporters jumping out of her garbage can when she went to take out the trash , life indeed was sweet. Sarah sat outside at the café table with a pen and paper trying to think of lyrics to write, while her growlithe was at her feet sleeping in the shadow of the table I have to admit, I am more than envious of growlithe at the moment, between all the training, traveling and now this it’s exhausting I just want to sleep for like a week and then maybe consider getting up[/i] she thought to herself yawning, before taking a sip of her latte.
She had to admit Flash city was a great place, if she had been a local she probably would have had done a lot of shopping and just have it delivered home, but because she was from unova that meant that she would have to have it shipped out and that was just too expensive to do
The young coordinator yawned again, and looked at a beautiful female that had short purple hair, she looked like she could be a model, and like herself the woman seemed to be frazzled, Sarah considered inviting the girl over, but that would mean she would have to initialize contact and she was much to shy for that, instead the teenager looked at the pen and paper and frowned she felt like she was doing algebra again, stupid algebra just because you can’t keep your leters you always asking us, well stupid asking us about your x…we don’t know where she is and don’t ask Y[/i] she thought to herself remembering her passionate hatred for all things mathematical, except when it came to money.

Rachel was feeling pretty queasy; partly because due to all of the wild emotions that were literally running amok in the city. She could only blink as hard as she could to get rid of the afterimages of the flashing street tiles from her retinas—because who had the crazy idea of using what she assumed to be LED lights underneath aforementioned tiles? She then shook her head and tried to clear out the buzzing feeling that was beginning to build up. As she continued to move her head from side to side, the better to clear it up—she then caught a flash of blue hair. Blinking once, then twice, she could only wonder—was the owner of the blue hair familiar, or something?
Curiosity got the better of her, and rather than listening to the little nagging voice in the back of her head to clear out of the scene, she decided to approach the blue-haired individual. There was something niggling inside her; telling her that this person was familiar… and upon approaching the person, she then lowered her shades just a fraction and snuck a sideways look at her without being too obvious that she was staring at her. Thank goodness for the shades I’m wearing, it’s not too obvious what I’m doing… she mused to herself as she then decided to speak up in a low voice, hoping that the person could hear her, “Err, excuse me…? Is it just me, or do you look familiar? I mean, I’m sorry for asking such a weird question, but I just want to confirm something…” before falling silent.
Hopefully the person she was talking to didn’t think of her as weird, creepy, or possibly stalker-level on the way she was treating the initial interaction; because that was absolutely horrifying to say the least, on her part that is.
Post by Sarah Wentworth on Jan 20, 2015 6:12:34 GMT -5
Sarah looked at the girl In the shades she seemed kind of peculiar, at least that’s what the anti social celebraty thought, she watched the girl as she headed her way oh joy I didn’t have to do anything at all, maybe the same will happen if I just sit here and watch the paper, maybe the song will write itself[/i] she thought to herself she looked at the paper in front of her and growlithe snored for a moment, Looking down at the puppy she raised an eyebrow.
Sarah watched as the young woman approached her, she had no idea what the girl was doing behind her eyes, for all she knew this lady could be staring at her rack, she listened as the female spoke, and she flinched she was familiar, that meant that it wouldn’t be long before she would be caught up “oh no it’s not just you, whenever I look at my reflection, I always think that too” she spoke with a smile.
Sarah pushed open the empty seat and put her things back in the bag “you look like you could use a rest, why don’t you join me for a seat, maybe I will jolt your memory” she spoke with a smile, it was peculiar but she wasn’t at all anxious around this female.

Rachel was secretly thankful that her sudden maneuver of approaching the blue-haired individual wasn’t taken too badly; in fact she sighed out of relief upon getting close enough to where she was! She then chuckled at her rather odd quip; before accepting the empty seat beside her—who knew that there were benches scattered here and there around this weirdly neon-lit city? Now that she was on an even level with her, she was able to take a closer look at her companion’s features—and that’s where that familiar niggling feeling struck her. The gut instinct she’d been experiencing since earlier had gone off, and she then looked around rather shiftily, before leaning in close and holding a hand up, the better to whisper into her ear without having anyone else overhear, “Forgive the question, but aren’t you one of the famous Coordinators from Unova? I’ve seen your face all over television back there,” she began.
She then fell silent before continuing on, “…the reason why I’m whispering is because I don’t want anyone else to overhear our conversation. I don’t want to draw attention to us,” before leaning back against the bench and watching the crazily-lit scenery flash and light up like Christmas lights gone haywire. The girl who was in front of her was certainly familiar, since she was also form Unova—but the problem was that her name was eluding her right at the moment. She then continued in a hushed whisper, “I know you’re some kind of defending champion… I’m sure I can recall your name, if only my brain would stop overheating,” she ended with a sheepish chuckle. She was pretty sure that this female was one of the more-known Coordinators from her home region; but outside of competitions virtually nobody knew where she went in public.

Sarah had watched as the shady individual seemed to chuckle before she sat herself down She watched as the female leaned in closer wow she wants to put her tongue in my ear, I know im pretty but we just met and oh I don’t swing that way[/i] she thought to herself a little anxiously, she heard the whisper and sighed out of relief that it wasn’t anything adult situation.
It seemed the purple haired vixen had recognized her as a coordinator from unova, she pulled her ear back and listened as the female went on to explain why she was whispering oh thank god, I thought she was hitting on me[/i] She thought to herself, she watched as the female leaned back as the scenery was blazed up like some weird Christmas event.
She listened as the female spoke again and she chuckled as she reflected on the words “it’s okay, ill let you off the hook, My name is Sarah wentworth, you are correct I am the defending champion of pokemon coordination” she spoke with a smile, Sarah’s smile faded as the air turned nasty, Sarah almost heaved she looked under the table and glared at growlithe the puppy pokemon had farted “Eww growlithe, that’s nasty….no more chilli for you” she recalled the gassy pup into the pokeball and swiped desperately at the air “my god that’s nasty, next time im going into a battle round, im gonna feed him chilli, cause if the gas doesn’t knock out the opponents pokemon, igniting that gass with his fire attacks will” she muttered as she fanned away the place.

Rachel first blinked, before giving her companion a wide-eyed stare—so that’s why she was familiar; it was the same person she’d seen on TV, right here in the flesh! She then let out a chuckle—before suppressing it and turning it, somehow, into a fit of the giggles instead; so as not to get the public’s attention on them right then and there. To everyone else walking by, it looked like two people sharing a bench; but for the actual individuals involved—Rachel, at least—it was like seeing another familiar face from home in an unknown area. “Well, I have something to tell you, too,” she began, still in the same hushed tones, because there was no way in hell she wanted the crazy photographers and journalists to figure out where she was right now.
“If you know about the Castelia theater district… the place where humans perform musicals and plays on stage, in front of a crowd—it’s very different from movies because we ourselves move around the place, in case you might be wondering—you might’ve heard of Adrian Zwingli. He’s my dad. I’m Rachel. Although I’m not sure you’re familiar with the theater district…” she said, pausing to take a breath after the statement. “Theater and movies are the same, just that with my field of work, we literally act it out on the stage. My troupe moved here to Nue, an attempt to see if the local market would be accepting of an art as old and as renowned as ours…” she continued, while wringing a hand in mid-air. Right then and there, a rather…pungent odor wafted through the spot, and she blinked, feeling her eyes water as Sarah then scooped up the culprit—it was something that looked like a cross between a puppy and a blazing little thing that had feet.
She then waved her hand in an attempt to disperse the smell, before cracking, “Phew, at least you know where the food goes,” with a grin on her face. Getting an idea, she then said, “Wait, I got this,” and then pulled out one of several containment units; this one had a rather eager-looking Braviary within, flapping his wings excitedly. With a flick of her wrist, the containment unit burst open, and the flash of red light revealed another Unova-native Pokémon, before the rather…displeased squawk echoed through the place. “Yeah. Sorry, Sky… can you, uhh… do your Tailwind thing and get a light breeze going? It’d help to get rid of the interesting odor,” she continued with an embarrassed grin on her face; and she then heard the rustling of wings coming from the rather large eagle as he stirred up a breeze headed away from the two.
In the meantime, Rachel thought she felt a twinge, and then looked instinctively towards the Growlithe; who didn’t seem sorry at all for what it had done. “And… uhh…” she trailed off, looking rather sheepishly at the Growlithe, who was apparently chortling in its own Pokémon language.

Sarah had watched Rachel, it was always interesting to see people’s reaction to her identity once they learned the truth about who she was. Most of the time it’s upcoming coordinators who are out to make a name for themselves challenging her to a battle, what they failed to realize is she left all of her battle pokemon at home starting out with her close friends growlithe and wailmer on a new journey to do some work on her future debut album and make some new friends even relax a little if she dared to dream.
Sarah listened as Rachel announced that she had something to say, of course she had been to the theater district before, she had seen a few musicals and found it enjoyable . as she told her about Adrian the truth is she hadn’t heard of him, but decided to keep a shocked expression on her face.
Sarah was shocked as bravery came out, she had to admit braviary was a cool looking pokemon, growlithe chose to come out of his pokeball and jumped on Sarah’s lap, he wasn’t sorry at all, he laid on his belly on Sarah’s lap and burped. She scowled at his bravado “Don’t make me use the B word Growlithe” she growled at her best friend.
The flame puppy burped again and she sighed, at that moment pichu came out of her pokeball and climbed Sarah’s body she jumped off Sarah’s shoulder and used sweet kiss on growlithe causing the pup to roll off Sarah’s lap landing on his back the pup twitched as pichu raised her arms in a victory pose, at least until Growlithe farted again. “EWWWW” Sarah flapped her arms while pichu sniffed and stopped dead in her tracks she staggered on the table until she fell of it seeing stars you both had it coming, you growlithe for trying to kill us with your version of poison gas, and you pichu for being a tart and using sweet kiss on your friend” she scowled at them both.
The teenager looked at Rachel “I don’t suppose braviary could help out again” she spoke desperately flapping away to get rid of the smell while the pup continued to twitch, pichu too “Pichu id get out of the way if I was you you’re right in the firing line” pichu forced herself up her eyes widen as she was at growlithe;s butt the rodent pokemon had half a mind to kick growlithe but didn’t want to risk another detonation and climbed back up Sarah perching on her shoulder.

Rachel was hesitating on explaining that her Growlithe was certainly feeling all triumphant at what he’d caused; but this little scene of victory would be interrupted by another ‘mon that would eventually appear and then do something absolutely strange (she was still quite new to the art of raising Pokémon and was still in the middle of the crash-course sessions with the white-haired guy that Blondie had recommended) which then caused quite the uproar once again.
Not too long after the Braviary had flapped up and conjured the wind and made the air fresh again; it turned foul yet again—for the Growlithe had struck once more! “Phew!” she exclaimed, attempting to pinch her nose while looking at her chubby-bunny… Braviary (she was so used to calling Sky the chubby-bunny Rufflet) for some help.
The avian let out another squawk of displeasure, before catching scent of the rather…intriguing aroma that wafted up once again. “Man, what did he eat? Or she, if that’s a female? I’m not too good with telling genders apart, honestly,” she continued, and then gestured her hands in a flapping motion to Sky before saying, “Get that wind going again. Looks like someone chose the wrong time to unleash the warheads,” she cracked with a sheepish grin, and the Braviary could only shake his head before flapping his wings again, this time whipping up a stronger breeze; the better to disperse the pungent odor from the area where they were located. She felt the slight twinge of annoyance coming from her Braviary but paid it no heed, she could make up for it later.
As the breeze blew once more through the area, she then shook her head, trying to clear it of the musty cobwebs, before turning the Sarah again and saying, “So, you’re here in Flash City, Nue’s version of Hollywood. Running away from someone?” while stopping to wonder. While it was true that Sarah was on TV all the time, outside of that practically nobody knew where she lived, or what she did; or what hobbies she had to keep her busy while away from the limelight.
Post by Sarah Wentworth on Jan 22, 2015 7:06:06 GMT -5
Sarah had to admit, she shouldn’t have let growlithe eat chili, but the pokemon seemed so admament about it, and he had worked so hard lately. Growlithe has helped out so much and has grown a whole lot, he helped to capture mime jr, pichu and even the trio of ralts how could I not reward him, but still that chili is potent…it could just assassinate us all[/i]
Sarah heard rachel’s question and she smiled “easy the male growlithe’s are a bigger pain in the butt than the females and my growlithe, has a love for cinibar chili” she spoke with a smile while growlithe gave a confused whine, eventually the pup settled down and got upright he jumped up onto Sarah’s lap and barked at pichu before settling down.
Pichu on the other hand looked at braivery and wanted to use sweet kiss on it, Sarah had already guessed what’s on pichu’s mind, she grabbed the pokemon hend held her firmly in her arms. She knew she would have to teach pichu some self respect as a woman. “Running away, not exactly, I am just passing by taking a break from training and traveling to do a bit of work, on my debut album” she answered with a smirk while growlithe burped, Sarah looked down at the pup and scowled, while pichu continued to struggle “pichu knock it off, braviery will only end up breaking your heart…Birds eat rats remember” Pichu looked up at Sarah and squeezed out, lunging at Sarah. The teenager recalled pichu frowning “uh sorry, pichu;s a hopeless romantic…she’s rather uh free with her heart” Sarah smiled sheepishly.

Rachel chuckled as the real reason why the weird puppy-like thing was breaking wind—it had apparently gone out and helped her owner catch some Pokémon not too long ago. “Oh, really? Size is one way of telling them apart?” she asked rather curiously. Since her crash-course lessons weren’t still completely over yet, she only knew that there were certain markings that differentiated the male from the female species. Heck, she was even wondering if it was possible for her chubby-bunny Braviary to have a female variation out in the wild! She then watched the interaction of her ‘mons for a few more moments, before finally making up her mind and inquiring about the cute yellow mouse.
“Where’d you get that Pichu? I’m pretty sure they’re not native to Unova, as he is,” she continued, gesturing to her Braviary, who had now settled down and was plucking some stray, itchy feathers out of his red plumage. As she listened to the true reason as to why she was all the way out in the new region, she then gave a nod. “Ahh… looking for inspiration in a foreign land, it seems?” she remarked with a rather sagely look on her face; because in the entertainment industry, it was important to capitalize on bursts of inspiration. If one didn’t do that, then they’d be left out in the dust. At the remark about birds eating rats, she then burst out into chuckles as well, before giving her Braviary a sidelong glance.
“Well, Sky here doesn’t eat anything that he didn’t see me hand to him. So I’m pretty sure he’s not going to eat your little yellow mouse just because. He’s quite a spoiled one,” and at that remark the avian then preened himself in the bluehead’s direction, before going back to ruffle at his feathers once again—there was a rather annoying spot that had been bothering him for some while now. “At least your little… Pichu, right… isn’t afraid to show what’s on her mind,” she ended, picking up on the rather…expressive vibe that the little yellow Lightning Mouse was exuding at that point.
Post by Sarah Wentworth on Jan 23, 2015 7:08:43 GMT -5
Sarah had listened to Rachel chuckle, as she put pichu on her shoulder, she knew the rat pokemon would settle at least for a little bit, the problem with pichu is she loved to fight and she loved love way too much, as Sarah petted her growlithe she wondered what was on the trainer’s mind.
When Rachel asked her she nodded her head, as soon as Rachel brought up the pichu she smiled a little “ I came across pichu in a forest, she was causing a ruckas using sweet kiss not just on trainers pokemon, but other male wild pokemon as well. So I challenged her to a battle and after a exhausting fight, she lost’ pichu scowled at Sarah and whacked her on the head, not that she did much damage with her tail, the way she remembered it she was out numbered with at least twenty dozen to one, where she fought fearlessly taking out at least more than half of them before she was sucker punched with Sarah throwing the pokeball at the back of her head.
Pichu started speaking in it’s language I Swear vendetta and revenge, I shall defeat this wench and liberate the house broken pokemon that she commands, we shall be free and free to kiss whoever we choose to kiss the pichu spoke in it’s poke language shaking his little paw in the air, while the growlithe just scoffed at the idioticness that was pichu.
Sarah had to admit that rachels pokemon was impressive she listened to Rachel speak about sky “shhh don’t tell pichu that, or she will start trying to get awkward with sky” she whispered while pichu was still lost in her fantasy of world domination and ruling over the world having Sarah as her buttler.
Sarah heard the comment Rachel made “I would probably normally agree with you, but I have a theory that the pokemon from where pichu is from, calls her pichu from the block, she used to get a little and then she got a lot…using sweet kiss” she spoke with a frown for a moment. Sarah quickly remembered she was in front of others and smiled “so is sky your only pokemon” Sarah asked curiously.

“If you don’t mind my asking, which forest did you encounter the little yellow mouse in?” she inquired, because after seeing this cute little thing, she wanted to search up and down the place for one to call her own. As she listened to the tale of derring-do that Sarah had gone through in order to be able to acquire her, she could feel a rather loud and proud twinge… it was coming from the Pichu on her shoulders! Even if she was no telepath, the rather boastful way that the Pichu was going on about as suggesting that Sarah’s version of the tale wasn’t to be believed—even if that was just the impression she got. After shaking the weird twinge aside once again, she then cracked a grin at the mention of her Braviary.
“Well, Sky here is quite the spoiled one. He absolutely refuses to eat anything that I didn’t make myself; so at least I know he’s not going to eat anything too weird or strange… and end up launching warheads without warning,” she remarked, making a passing reference to the little Growlithe gas bomb incident that had occurred earlier. Chuckling at the little quip that she’d made about the Pichu (it almost sounded like something out of a song) she then broke out another containment unit… well, several to be precise. “He’s not my only one. I have quite a few as well, and some of them are in that…weird… storage thing. Can’t believe that they can become ones and zeros…” she trailed off, before letting out her other companion in a flash of red light.
This one transformed into a little green, leaf-like creature that had three sprigs poking out of the top of her head—and impossibly short, yet extremely adorable limbs. “This is Sunshine… the princess of the group,” she began, introducing the Petilil to Sarah and the assembled company. On its part, the Bulb ‘mon then looked up, before waving its short limbs and then waddling over to where the Braviary was now grooming himself.
Post by Sarah Wentworth on Jan 23, 2015 7:42:12 GMT -5
Sarah listened as the trainer asked her exactly which forest “I am not too sure on it’s name, but it’s connected to the wildlands not to far from tyntill town, it’s a really interesting place, id check out tyntil town as well, if you look around the urban area’s you could really come across some interesting pokemon” she spoke thinking about the poor swirlex who was waiting by a street lamp, she had tried to help the wild pokemon but had no luck in doing so.
When Sarah commented about sky being spoiled she nodded her head listening, she supposed it hadn’t been a bad thing to spoil pokemon, unless it was chili. Sarah looked at her growlithe and petted his head, the pup was capable of mass destruction, she had contemplated on evolving growlithe, but that was his choice and he would tell her when he was ready, that much she knew.
Sarah raised an eyebrow as Rachel told her that sky wasn’t her only pokemon that she had a few more in a storage thing, it was then she suspected . Sarah looked at the new pokemon come out and smiled as she was introduced to it, sunshine was a pretty nickname. Sarah had thought about letting out more of her pokemon but didn’t want to draw attention to the herself she smiled “Rachel, please don’t be offended, but I was wondering how long have you been a trainer for” she asked curiously.

The Petilil then proceeded to trot over to where the avian was, plucking his feathers and settling down for a short break; while Rachel looked back rather sheepishly at Sarah when the dreaded question was raised. She then began to look around rather shiftily; and was trying to pick out the exact motive as to why her companion had asked the question… before leaning in again and whispering the answer, because there was no way in hell she was going to publicize the fact that she had just literally started and was fresh right out of the gate.
“Well,” she began in that same whisper, before looking around and holding a hand up just to make sure nobody was snooping around before continuing, “…to be honest, I only take care of these two. It was just recently I started… learning more.”
After gesturing to where the Braviary and the Petilil were now snuggled up beside each other—Sunshine having gotten used to Sky’s sudden change in size and not minding it at all, because that was still the same fat bird she used to hang with.
She then turned back and continued in the same whisper, “…the guy who taught us the things we needed to learn outside of acting in theater kind of forgot to touch on how to raise ‘mons. I was completely clueless until… recently, of course. Call me and my troupe mates late bloomers, but it’s never too late to get properly started…” she ended with a sheepish, almost apologetic look on her face.
“We’ve only gotten started with wrapping our heads around types, bleedin’ got eighteen existing types right now, and that’s not even starting on weaknesses and strengths. I still have a long ways to go,” she ended with a look of furrowed concern on her face.
