After resting for some time; Rachel had decided to continue to poke around the Ruins once again. It was a few days after her Rufflet had suddenly changed form (and had attempted to contact Blondie and ask him just what the hell had happened) so she was still in a state of panic; why had her chubby bunny Rufflet suddenly changed form, and why hadn’t he changed back yet?!
She was still in conflict, as she continued to suit up for a last-minute trek to the ruins, a glimmer of hope burning inside her—would she be able to find anything this close to Christmas, at least for herself?
A few minutes later, she was fully-dressed; several layers of clothing, two pairs of gloves, and a very long, very thick fluffy scarf decorated her person. She also decided to go with earmuffs because why not? She didn’t have any Fire-types on her yet; hence the need to bundle up as if she was going into a literal snowstorm.
She’d noticed that the weather in the place where the Ruins were getting really cold; not to mention absolutely gusty, and she’d wanted to be as protected as possible. At the last second, she crammed in several flash lights into her pockets and then made her way towards the place.
It took her almost an hour and a half to get to the Ruins proper—and there was a flurry falling from the sky at that point in time. She knew she had to find whatever it is she was looking for, get it, and beat it out of there before she got trapped in the place; she didn’t want to spend Christmas in the Ruins!

She was secretly afraid of bringing out Sky now—who was that red-feathered avian and what had he done to her “chubby bunny” companion?! Rachel really didn’t know too much in the ways of Pokémon, she only knew that they were very much spoiled by her hand; that was that. But what was that weird light that had poured out of her chubby bunny and made him change form?
What caused that to happen, and why hadn’t he returned to his previous form? She could only ponder on the mysteries of what had happened while she was looking through the long stretch of ruins that she was now poking around in; shifting fallen rubble over with her other hand before inching forward.
Her attention was definitely somewhere; she was so preoccupied on what had happened to Sky just a few days ago—would the same thing happen to Sunshine in due time, given the course of how things were going? She knew that her “chubby bunny” was the only capable one who could hold his own while facing off against the big bad world; but how about Sunshine?
She knew that the Petilil was more of a peaceful kind; but who could say? She then continued to poke around, passing by the upturned Helix Fossil (not that she knew what it was called) a few feet away from where she was searching, and carried on searching.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found Intriguing Stone! Not a Mega Stone but it's still a beautiful stone. It can be sold for a high price to a collector.

She continued to wiggle the thing in her hands up and down, trying to make her way through the place without falling over too much. It was proving very difficult; mostly because there was a lot of fallen and upturned rubble in the path she was currently taking. More than twice she was forced to climb over large slabs of rock and gauge how far she’d have to fall down in order to get to the other side in order to be able to continue searching further in; and her latest landing almost got her into trouble, for her heel had landed on something round that suddenly decided to roll forward—and very nearly caused her to lose her balance in the process!
Yowling out loud because of the sudden shock of very nearly landing in a heap on the musty floor, she then flailed her arms in order to be able to keep her balance; before finally hopping away from the offending object that had very nearly cost her an accident. She then shone the beam of the flash light down at the spot where she’d stepped on, and saw that there was…something round glimmering there. She then quickly snatched it up and then examined it; but then noticed that there was no certain distinct…swirly pattern that the other three weird things she’d found back in the Kalosian Badlands had.
“Hmm, tricky little bugger you turned out to be…” she began, before tossing it over her shoulder, where she heard it land before rolling out of sight, out of mind. She then proceeded to continue through the Ruins, trying to wiggle her way over fallen debris and more of the aforementioned upturned rocks and rubble.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found Relic Band! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

After she’d tossed the weird, pseudo-marble over her shoulder out of sheer annoyance and had gone deeper in, Rachel was starting to panic. Why wasn’t she finding any more of those pleasant little things yet? Was it just dumb luck that had gotten her so lucky when she’d gotten lost in the Badlands on her first trip to Kalos? Who knew?
She continued to poke around, climbing as nimbly as she could manage over the fallen stones and shattered rubble that she came across—and very nearly had a repeat performance of what had happened earlier; only instead of almost falling over backwards on a fake marble-like object, she’d fallen forward and had almost ended up kissing the dirt—because there it was again, the weird rocky thing that had been rather…persistent, chasing her all over the place.
“What is this thing…” she muttered to herself, lifting it up and examining it. After hissing for a few moments, she then tossed it aside; where it shattered rather ominously upon landing somewhere. Whatever the thing was, it wasn’t something that could draw her eye. Now she was starting to regret picking up that weird slab of rock that had a fancy decoration on it earlier…why was her luck suddenly going to the pits now, of all times?
She then sighed rather exasperatedly as she continued to shuffle around, poking through every possible nook and cranny she came across, trying to search for another one of those shiny rock things that could make her filthy rich if she played her cards right…!

All of her searching would have gone in vain, had it not been for something that had caught Rachel’s eye at the very last second—quickly crouching down around one of the other boulders she’d hopped over earlier, she then poked around until she saw something glimmering, almost buried under the darned thing. Wondering if it was safe to heft it out, she looked around and found out that there was enough space between the cracks on the rock for her to stick her arm in—if she was careful.
Praying that no sudden earthquakes rocked and shook the area, she then jammed her right arm in as far as it would go, until her fingers brushed the surface of the thing she’d spotted. Quickly tightening her grip around it, she then yanked out her arm as fast as she could—never mind that she’d injured it in the process.
“Ouch. Crap that. Always assume the worst,” she began, hissing as a jolt of pain shot through her right arm, before quickly rubbing it down with her left. The flash light she was holding earlier had already gone into one of her pockets, before she’d spotted the thing, glimmering in the light of the sudden sunshine that was piercing the heavens. Had she been in the place so long the snowstorm had petered out on its own?
Who knew?
Nevertheless, a quick inspection revealed that the marble was definitely nothing like the few she’d already encountered, so she knew that it was a good idea to hold on to this one. “You’re coming with me,” she ended, pocketing the weird, pinkish…well, she couldn’t aptly describe it yet, but it was a marble, alright.
