nope / 4 | 4 for October / 315
After she’d dropped off the weird, clunky, absolutely chunky Relic…bracelet (or whatever it was called) Andrea then ventured back into the Badlands as fast as she could manage—because this was her last shot of the month—and after this she could go back to Lumiose and continue cursing her streak of horrible luck until the next month. After the November digging season, she knew it was going to be Christmas—and by then she would be dreading the time that she would have to go back home to the Hoenn region in order to confront the other members of her family. But for the moment, she was here in the Badlands—true to its name and reputation—and was going to try and salvage what was left of her disastrous trip for the month of October.
Oh, right, I also have to ask my brother about going on a joint digging effort next month… better head him off and leave a message for him once I can… she thought as she then scouted around, looking for a nice place to continue digging. After hiking around the area, she finally found a place—which was some distance away from the disastrous site where she’d found the things-that-must-not-be-mentioned, and then glared at it with some contempt, before turning her back and then looking at the horizon—the site still had a lot of places to dig through, so she decided to start hiking and finally found a spot where the “vibes” were calling out to her. “Alright… gods of luck, wherever I’ve sent those chickens, give me the good luck I need now. This is going to be ugly if I keep getting those rocky Relics…” she muttered to herself as she resisted the urge to roll her eyes and then stabbed the spot with her shovel; before quickly starting to dig up the new spot.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RELIC BAND ! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

It didn’t take too long before Andrea’s shovel had smacked hard against something—and that something was proving to be chasing her down no matter where she went! She looked down and resisted the urge to scream out of disgust—because the exact same thing she’d dropped off at the entranceway (that also had a redemption area, strangely enough) was back to haunt her! “OH. OH HELL NO!” she screeched as she then backed away slowly, shovel in hand—before beating a very fast dash out of the area where she’d decided to try her luck again. She’d run so fast, and had covered a considerable distance when she looked down and saw that she was still in the Badlands—but she had no idea just where exactly she’d ended up.
“Ugh, seriously…” was all she had time to hiss before she reached for one of the water canteens hanging round her neck and taking a very long drink from it; then resealing the thing. “Alright… let’s try that again…” she muttered, quickly stabbing the shovel back into the ground and then digging herself into silence again. If I encounter another one of those Relic items, I swear… I’m going to smash it with this shovel! Her mind screeched, as she continued to poke away at the ground, trying to distract the various murderous thoughts that were now crawling through them—only one out of her four digs for the month had ended on a high note so far; was it truly the “time of the duds?”

It was like there was an eerie air of déjà vu hanging over her—because with the next few attempts, Andrea had come across… something. It was a bit on the bluish side; and as she flipped it over as gently as she could manage, she saw it for what it was—she already had one of them with her stored in her travel bag; squished into the pocket where laptops would usually go and protected by several layers of newspaper. “Hmmm…” she muttered to herself, tapping her chin as she surveyed the fossil critically. It was the same one she’d found from before; but she didn’t want to get another one—because she already had one of them with her.
However… there was a suspicion that was nagging at her; but she decided to brush it off in the meantime.
“Sleep well,” she said to the fossil that had a feather wedged into it, before leaving it alone and then going out to another spot that her instincts felt like was “calling out” to her. After hiking through the Badlands, she then chanced upon a location… and saw that she was very near the supposed “edge” of the area—but there were no ropes or borders to be found. “Eh, whatever,” she muttered to herself as she then struck the shovel into the dirt there, and began to dig once more in complete silence.

Now that she had resumed digging at a new spot, Andrea couldn’t help but think—was her luck completely shot by this point in time? Her shovel had clicked against something, and she had hurriedly tried to excavate it—only to be met with a look of disappointment. She’d found a stone that had a distinctly greenish hue; and was embedded with the pattern of a leaf. It’s not even anything I can use… what am I going to do… she thought as this look of fear crossed her face; and she was starting to feel the dread in the air. “What happens… if I find a dud…” she muttered to herself, quickly pulling away from the place where she had found the Leaf Stone; and began to dash through the Badlands, living up to its name and reputation.
I’m going to be out of cash in a few weeks if this keeps up! I’m sunk if I don’t find anything I can sell in order to be able to get some more to keep going! She thought in a panic as she tore through the Badlands; passing abandoned dig sites and pristine, untouched places that were hiding secrets under the dirt and grit. Let me find something worthwhile! PLEASE! She continued to herself as she then came to a stop, feeling her legs begin to seize up due to the sudden movement she’d done. As she bent over double in order to catch her breath, she thought she saw something sticking out of the spot… what was it? She then moved to approach it, hoping that it wasn’t for nothing.

It looked like Andrea’s luck, at least for the month of October, had run dry. As the shovel continued to scrape against the ground, she could feel this weird sense of dread welling up within her; but decided to shake it off, at least until she had found something. That dread increased exponentially as she heard her shovel make a weird sort of scraping noise—she knew she’d found something; but it didn’t make the “clinking” noise she’d usually associate with one of those weird small, sparkling marble-like rocks. What she saw as she lifted the shovel up… made her chuck the shovel aside, hold up both hands to her head, and began to scream. Not scream outright like in a death metal concert, but starting as a low rumble from deep within her diaphragm before it burst out into something that was like a banshee coming to raise hell on earth with the sound of her voice.
Luckily, there was nobody else around to witness her nervous breakdown—because right underneath the point where she’d heard the scraping noise lay, exposed to the elements, a crown. It was just like the one she’d found a few digs ago, pointed and all spiky, just there in the dirt, half-exposed to the world. But Andrea wasn’t done screeching her dismay off yet, though. Was this because of the one good excavation attempt she’d had earlier within the same month, that had yielded a very rare kind of marble, that had caused her luck to take a downward turn? She then continued to wail; hitting and stamping quite petulantly on the dirt; before letting out her loudest scream yet—and after that had died out… she began to cry. Why did her luck have to suck so hard right after that weird, purple marble had fallen in her hands? “I—I must g-get rid of i-it…!” she muttered, dropping her hands and then digging out the crown with just the shovel.
Once she’d managed to get a clod of dirt (that had the crown stuck within it) out of the spot where she was digging, she then huffed and squared her shoulders as she went back to the entrance of the entire site, and turned it over. I swear. November, and December… they have to be good. Otherwise this is going to get really ugly… she thought with this glower in her eyes as she dropped the crown on the examination table, wishing to be rid of it as quick as possible.
