nup / 4 | 4 for August! Yes made it. Barely. / 285
Knowing that it was the last shot she was going to get in order to be able to find something, Andrea continued her trek into the Badlands, the Milotic still gliding through the air by her side. The heat had somewhat thinned out; making the air a bit more breathable; but otherwise the icky, sticky feeling still hung about it; and she was just plain tired at this point. She then remembered that she’d just found another one of the shining things; so who knew if she was on a roll now?
She then looked around, mopping the falling bangs out of her line of vision; before finally reaching another spot that looked promising to her. “Alright, let’s get this show on the road. Lexie, you know what to do,” she said, after depositing the backpack some distance behind the Milotic and pointing with her shovel.
After watching the Milotic release a low-powered Water Pulse right at the spot she’d pointed at, the Tender ‘mon then backed away; before she then stepped forward and stuck the shovel into the now softened grit, and began moving aside as much of it as she could manage—because she knew that the longer she stayed out here, the more… crisped she’d become once she managed to get back to the little room she was renting for the duration of her stay in the Kalos region. Well, I’m mostly digging stuff up here now… so it’s safe to say that I’m going to be here a while? Unless another contest comes up and then that’s the only time I can prepare for it… she thought to herself as she continued to shovel piles of dirt off to one side.

nobody / pass on the Pika-stone / 277
It didn’t take too long for her to find something—and when she did, she thought that the shovel she was using caught a circuit, which caused her to freak out all of a sudden! “Wha—what the hell?!” she shrieked as she dropped the shovel, only to see the top of what appeared to be… a thunder Stone peeking out of the grit! “Well, that’s not too good…” she muttered to herself, before quickly grabbing the shovel once more and then retrieving her backpack, before signaling to her Milotic to follow her to another place to continue searching. “First a bone, now a stone… what’s next? A Vase or something else that I might accidentally crack?” she muttered to herself, shoving her bangs out of her hairline—she knew that the heat was definitely messing up her hairstyle.
After around ten minutes of walking, she then arrived at another promising spot, and then set off to start looking. “You know what to do,” she said, pointing at a certain patch and then watching the Water Pulse wet the dirt, so that it became easier to dislodge and toss aside. She then set to work, whistling a random tune under her breath. It had been a while since her first-ever major competition, so she had no idea if she was going to win or not—until now, the winners had yet to be proclaimed, so here she was, whiling away the time by actually doing something useful—digging. She knew that her younger brother had already hit pay dirt several times out here in the Badlands; would she have the same streak going her way soon enough…?

nope / pass on the Leaf Stone / 259
This time though, it took a while before Andrea had actually found something… and it was a Leaf Stone, in this case. “Well, better than a Thunder Stone and some bones… but… I’m running out of time…” she trailed off, quickly gesturing for her Milotic to get ready to move out to a different spot to search for things; as she strode over and picked up her backpack again and then hung it over her shoulder. With shovel in hand, she then walked forward, the Milotic following her not too far behind. Now that she had found two stones, one after another, she was starting to suspect that the spots she’d gone to were just rife with the evolutionary items; but she didn’t need them—not just yet, anyway.
It had taken them approximately twenty minutes before she decided on a new digging spot, and with a silent gesture, the Milotic then released a low-powered Water Pulse aimed at the dirt. Now that the ground was softer she then set her backpack down once again, before going to dig at the spot, hoping that this time; she would be able to find something that was going to be worth a lot of money... something that wasn’t a Relic Item or another evolutionary item, at least! Hell, a fossil is okay with me. Anything, a fossil or a marble, or anything else… just not another dud…! Please! Give me some good luck! She thought to herself as she moved pile after pile, after pile of dirt off to one side.

nope / claiming Plume Fossil / 239
Apparently, Andrea’s “wishful thinking” had worked—somewhat, and she felt her shovel hit something… that wasn’t so hard, but not with the “clink” noise she normally associated with finding those rare sparkling marbles that glimmered all sorts of weird colors. “Huh,” she muttered to herself, abandoning the shovel and then moving aside the dirt in order to uncover what she had found… it… didn’t look like a marble, yes, but it had something… something that resembled a feather embedded in it! “Oh, shoot, did I hit it in any way…” she muttered, brushing off the grit stuck to it and then hefting it out of the dusty surface. It then revealed a fossil of some sort; and for some reason the rock was dark blue, instead of being the same color as everything else around it.
“This is one strange thing… but eh, I can’t be choosy,” she said to herself as she then decided to get out of there while she was ahead—tucking the fossil underneath her arm and then picking up the shovel, before retrieving her backpack and the Milotic who was waiting for her. “Come on, Lex, let’s go, I want to read more about this… thing I’ve got,” she muttered, and the Tender ‘mon followed her down and out of the Badlands—they needed a rest, a shower, and then, research time on the new thing she was holding tucked under her left arm.
