The sun was starting to heat up, and with it sweat began to accumulate on Andrea’s back. The Milotic noticed that her mistress was showing some signs of discomfort, and therefore cautiously approached her, before nuzzling her head under her free hand. “Hm?” she began curiously, looking down and seeing that the Milotic was apparently trying to get a free head pat. “Oh…” she trailed off, before chuckling and indulging the Milotic as they continued searching through the Badlands, trying to find a good place to continue digging. After approximately ten, fifteen minutes of hiking under the sweltering-hot sun, the two had chanced upon an area that looked deserted enough; and she then set down her backpack on the ground, a bit behind where the Milotic had decided to position herself.

“I can’t risk getting my stuff wet now, can we,” she continued with a grin; before picking up the shovel once more. After deciding where to dig first, she then pointed at the exact spot with her shovel, before saying in Lexie’s direction, “You know what to do,” and watched as the Milotic then released a low-powered version of Water Pulse, making the hard-packed ground easier to dig through now that it was moistened up enough. “Here goes…” she trailed off, before sticking the shovel into the damp ground and then moving pile upon pile of grit off to one side; her eyes always on the lookout for something sparkling; or that resembled anything of importance.

It didn’t take too long for Andrea to find something—but the moment she struck the thing that was half-buried in the muck, she heard an ominous cracking noise. “Oh… crap,” was all she had time to mutter, as she then started digging around the spot frantically; before realizing that she’d broken yet another artifact from who knew what time period! The Milotic could sense that something was wrong—because her mistress suddenly walked past her and hurriedly picked up the backpack that she’d dropped some distance behind her! “N-nothing happened, okay? You didn’t see anything. Nothing, at all,” she said in a panicked tone, as she then signaled for the Tender ‘mon to follow her forward; and then they were off to another spot in order to try and see what they would be able to find!

She then scoured the area—before finding another deserted spot that looked promising, and after setting down her backpack to the ground and then pointing with the shovel once more, the Milotic then released another low-powered version of Water Pulse, in order to at least make the digging easier on her part. Once the ground had turned a nice, damp shade of brown, she then stuck the shovel into the dirt once more, and continued to dig, hoping that this location would be able to give her something good this time around! Come on… come on… now that I sort of know what that weird rainbow thing is… I hope Tom can help me with it… or something. Can it be used in Contests, I wonder? She thought to herself, scanning each and every shovelful of dirt she was tossing off to one side; hoping that something good would come out of it!

It didn’t take too long before Andrea had caught sight of something sparkling in the shovelful of dirt she was about to toss over her shoulder; in a great panic, she then dropped it back onto the ground and then tossed the shovel off to one side—before realizing that there was something that was glittering in that clump! She then began shoving handfuls of wet, sticky earth off to one side; and once the find was revealed… it was another marble! “Heh, looks similar to the ones I’ve already got…” she trailed off quickly looking through the thing she’d brought along with her and finding that little empty medicine case that she’d temporarily used in order to house the important sparklies. “Definitely not like anything I’ve seen. So yes, I’d say this is a good time to be digging…” she grinned to herself; before noticing that the Milotic had already joined her and was now fanning at her with its tail.

“What is it, Lexie? You want to keep looking?” she asked the Tender ‘mon; and the Milotic nodded; before watching Andrea drop the shining thing into the little case an snapping it shut. “Well, let’s continue to keep looking; we don’t have that much time left to stay here anyway… I know that the month's are going to change again, so…” she trailed off, dropping said case down her skirt pocket; and then dusting off the gloves before retrieving the shovel; and then getting the backpack she’d left some distance away. Once she’d secured her belongings, she gave a whistle to the Milotic, who then quickly followed her. “Come on, let’s keep looking. We have to hit pay dirt once more…” she ended with this grin on her face—now that she knew what the rainbow-colored thing was, she… wanted to look deeper into it. Would it be possible to use it while making Appeals in Contests? Who knows. It’s something I want to find out… she thought to herself as she went deeper into the Badlands, the Milotic by her side.
