treasure hunting / 3 out of 4 for July / 324
After taking a break for a few days, Andrea was back and raring to go for her next attempt at finding some treasure to keep! She’d lucked out the last few times when she’d gone digging the first two times; and back then she decided to stop hunting for a while in order to be able to restock up on supplies and the like. Now that she had enough to get her through the next two digs, she then headed back out to the Badlands and then saw that the line was just as long the last two times she’d been here, so with a sigh she decided to fall in line; applying the necessary amount of sunscreen on her exposed arms and legs while the line took its time moving forward. Once it had moved enough, she had already managed to apply sunscreen on all exposed parts of her body, and was near the inspection point. Hah, just as I planned it… she thought to herself as she then went into the inspection line herself and got all of her things checked. Once she’d been given the green light, she then tossed the bottle of sunscreen into her bag and then proceeded to look for a spot to start digging.
After wandering around and looking for a spot (she had gotten quite indecisive at this point) she then noticed that there was an area that looked untouched, she then hiked towards it and then set down her bag once she’d reached the “ideal spot”. Setting the shovel she’d been carrying on her shoulders down on the ground, she then reached for her backpack and decided to take a drink of water first before proceeding to dig. Once she’d refreshed herself, she then picked up the shovel and began to dig through the undisturbed ground in the area, always making sure to scan each shovelful of dirt before dropping it off to one side.

diggin' / pass on the Pika-stone / 359
Andrea was now digging through the hot weather; she could feel the sweat building up all over her shoulders, forehead and back. At least I wore something a bit more… weather-appropriate, she thought to herself as she then scanned the latest shovelful of dirt before tossing it off to one side. After a few more digging gestures, she then decided to stop as she then stabbed the shovel into the ground and walked over to where she’d left her bag for a quick water break. Unzipping the maw open, she then reached inside and grabbed not just a bottle of water, but a sandwich she’d packed along as well! She then sat down and then began eating, munching her way through while rehydrating herself in the process. Soon after the sandwich and bottle were empty, she then folded the sandwich wrapper again, before placing both used articles back into the bag-there was no way in hell she was going to litter in the area (and possibly get banned from digging due to those reasons).
She then picked herself up and wiped herself down with her small towel before grabbing the shovel and then continuing to dig. After a few moments of silence, her shovel then hit something; but it made a noise, along with a little jolt of electricity. Wondering what it was, she then slipped on the work gloves she had clipped onto her waist, and proceeded to shovel through with her hands; finally coming across a Thunder Stone—or something that looked a lot like it. “Aw, nope,” she said to herself, realizing that this was where the sudden zapping sensation came from; she then scooped it up along with some earth underneath it, before setting it off to one side—this wasn’t what she was looking for. Wonder how little brother’s faring in the dig… she thought to herself as she then picked up the shovel and continued to put and toss dirt aside. If she didn’t find anything after this attempt, she’d have to change spots and see if her luck was any better than this current location where she was digging up stuff now.

i'a i'a / passing on the bone / 345
The sun was bearing down overhead; and Andrea could feel the sweat pouring down her back. Wondering if she had found anything yet, she then decided to take a short break, flopping over as she let the shovel fall out of her hands, and then slumped down beside the backpack she’d brought along. Digging through her pockets and finding a face towel, she then began to wipe off as much grit and grime as she could manage; before cramming it back into the pocket and then unzipping the bag and pawing through it, evidently looking for something. After a few moments of searching, she found another bottle of water, as well as a bag of trail mix—why did she have trail mix, it was simple: energy source—and then pulled it out, popping the water bottle open and then munching on some of the mix. “Mmm… this sun is terrible…” she muttered to herself as she then took a very long drink from the bottle, emptying almost half of it in one go.
Once she’d eaten her fill, she then decided to stuff the bag of trail mix in her pocket instead of hiding it in the bag; as she then stood up and picked up the shovel. After a few more minutes of silent digging, her shovel then scraped across something, so she then let it drop from her grip as she then began brushing away the dirt with her hands—only to reveal… a bone. I’m not a dog… she thought with some indignation as she then huffed, before picking up the shovel, and then retrieving her things—and then moving to another spot altogether. Drats, I only have two more chances left… she thought to herself as she then arrived at a new spot some ten minutes later, and then began to dig up the dirt in this location. Hope I find something better soon… she continued to herself as the shovel then scraped its way along through the dirt and grime, crossing her fingers in the back of her mind.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC BAND ! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price. ( Post a Mod Summons to exchange this for •25 )

nup / pass on the band / 389
Once Andrea had arrived at the new spot, she then began to dig through the dirt with much fervor; because she knew she was down to the last two chances. She’d remembered reading somewhere that each visitor could search for four chances per visit, and that they were allowed four visits each month. Well, this is my third one… I hope I find something good… she thought to herself as the digging reached a frantic pace; she continued to tear through the dirt, as if looking for something that could get her rich right away and out of the sinkhole of poverty that she’d fallen into! She’d succeeded in finding one of those shiny marbles, but apparently nobody was interested in the one she’d found, so she decided to hang on to it until something a bit more interesting came up… either it was that or she’d sell it off to someone who was collecting those shining, shimmering marbles for an agreeable price. After some silent digging, she then flopped down, realizing that she was doing an exercise in futility, digging through the dirt and not actually finding anything of worth so far!
“Ugh, I need to catch my breath,” she muttered to herself as she then sank down to her knees in order to catch her breath and to let her arms rest—it was at this point she noticed that there was something sticking out of the dirt. Wondering just what it was, she then decided to pull herself over to where it was, and then brushed off the dirt around the thing that was a starkly different color as compared to the dirt around the area… and snorted; she’d found something that looked like some sort of heavy bracelet. “Definitely not,” she muttered, picking it up and out of the dirt, before tossing it over her shoulder and hearing it shatter as it hit the dirt. She knew she was down to the last chance, so with a sigh, picked up the shovel and then moved to another area before sticking the shovel into the dirt and then starting to dig through the new spot she’d moved to. Come on, come on, come on, make this spot worth it, make this spot worth it… she thought to herself as she continued to paw through the dirt!
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found DUSK STONE ! Cursed by Rasputin In the dark of the night! Evil will find her! In the dark of the night just before dawn!

*lederp* / claiming the Dusk Stone / 240
Andrea continued to let the shovel hit the dirt, scanning each mound of dirt she tossed off to one side—the day was hot, it was long, and it was most certainly not friendly. After another immeasurable time of digging, she finally caught sight of something in the dirt—and saw that it was colored dark as the shadows that were now extending out behind her. Ah, shoot, you have to be kidding me!!! She thought out of annoyance, chucking the shovel off to one side. I guess it’s true after all, you win some and you lose some… she groaned to herself as she uncovered a Dusk Stone; and she knew that this was the last attempt for the day.
“Oh great, what am I going to use you for,” she muttered to herself as she then picked it up and dusted off the grit that had stuck to the stone. Well, it’s better than nothing… she thought to herself as she then picked up the shovel; and then kicked the dirt off to one side. Sometimes the fates were with her, sometimes they were not… and now just happened to be one of those times. “Well, at least I can still come back tomorrow and try again...” she hissed to herself, kicking more dirt out of the way as she made her exit from the Badlands—they really did live up to their name and reputation after all!
