Apparently, pretty rocks were found deep in the earth. This wasn't a huge surprise to Ferris, in all actuality - as someone who spent most of their professional life in an old mining town under the surface, she was pretty versed in the activities of the soil and the important stuff found within. What she wasn't aware of was that old archaeological sites paid for bodyguards and paid you in leftover goodies.
So here she was, walking around the old school site of a former dig, within eyesight of the Power Plant in this very French region. She wasn't alone out here, at least - both her Excadrill and Shieldon were out and about to keep her company; Trakeena because she was the best suited for the arid dirt environment and capable of dealing with the threats in the area, and Phalanx because... well, he was cute and she wanted to spend some time with him. He didn't get much training lately, so she wanted to make up for it.
The little fossil yipped and jumped into one of the square digging pits, prompting Ferris to follow as the little guy began to dig into a pile - nearby, Trakeena was more or less doing the same, but with a wider area thanks to shovel-like claws. Thanks, evolution, you were just too kind sometimes. Trakeena may not have been green and irritable, but she was always a friend to Mother Nature for everything except her lack of an ability to fight at a range.
Too bad all that digging might uncover something.
