[Maelys, Allona, Eric Marone]
[Vermillion Pokemon Center]
[mid July, sunset]
[Lily, Allona's Kirlia, will be transferred to Maelys]
[Following Requiem, Kanoa is presumed unharmed, and Allona sustained minor injuries]
Effectively crashing through the door, Maelys came running into the room, finally stopping to pant heavily. It didn't surprise him that their father was there, sitting in the chair next to the bed. Finally managing to catch his breath, the dark haired trainer stood up and walked over to his sister, who was sitting up on the bed, her arm and leg bandaged partway. "You'll heal just fine, right? They aren't permanent injuries?" Allona sighed while Eric simply leaned back and folded his arms. "Jeez, Mae, you're even more protective than me." The statement brought a look of remorse to Maelys' face, glancing down at nothing. "Hey, I'm fine. Really."
Mae brought his gaze to the bandages on her arm. "I shouldn't have gone to the islands ahead of you... This wouldn't have happened." His sister gave him a stern look. "If you were there, you oould have gotten hurt too..." Maelys simply folded his arms, his expression fading to indignation. "If it meant me getting hurt instead of you, then so be it. I'm a trainer, I should be used to getting hurt like that. You're a coordinator. Part of your job relies on your looks." Allona opened her mouth to respond when Eric interrupted. "Maelys. It's done and over, there's no point looking back on it now. What matters now is deciding what we do from here on out." Mae turned to look at Eric, who gave him a 'well?' expression.
"My plans remain unchanged. I still intend to work towards becoming a Professor." Eric nodded to his sons decision, accepting it. "And you, Allona?" She turned to look at Maelys with a very serious look on her face, like someone intent on convincing a rock to move on it's own. "I'm going with dad to stay safe from whoever it was that attacked me. I want you to come with us so they can't get to you." Maelys blinked once before shaking his head in refusal. "Sorry, I'm going to stick with my original plans. If they want me, they still have to get past my Pokemon." With a frustrated sigh, she shook her head. "I had that strong trainer, Kanoa, and his Houndoom helping me, and he still almost beat us..." "Allona, he's made his decision. Let him stand by it." She turned to glance at Eric for a moment before bring it back to Maelys, hanging her head in defeat. [color=blue".... Then..."
She leaned over to the table between the bed and chair, grabbing one of her pokeballs. She sat back up straight and opened the pokeball, her Kirlia, Lily, appearing, standing on the ground between them. Lily glanced up at Allona questioningly. "Lily, I want you to go with Maelys and keep him safe..." Lily took a glance at Maelys, then looked back at Allona to make sure she was serious, to which Allona nodded. "Kir..." She looked up at Maelys, tuning her psychic affinity to his. "Lia!" He took the pokeball and glanced down at Kirlia, acknowledging her. "Thank you." He returned her to her ball, placing it in his robes on his belt. "Alright then, Allona will stay with me, and Maelys, you keep working towards your goal...
Allona spoke up once more. "Maelys... promise me one thing... that you'll put faith in your Pokemon, that you trust in them to do their best." "Trust... I will try..."
