Sunlight. I awaken from a dream.
These Ordinary Days.
Was that a negative vibe Xue just picked up from Elinda? Double doses of suspicion supported by Kaguya's little shiver as well? Xue's mind began rolling over the possibilities once the veteran trainer said her peace. Bringing Kaguya up to her clutches, she pondered if past incidents due to her Pokemon were related to the overall apathetic responses Elinda had given thus far. What surprised the young trainer, was just how much of that negativity was present. Kaguya, no short thanks to her trainer, was often very jubilant and extremely warm to touch. Perhaps something she was ashamed of? Xue didn't exclude the possibility that Elinda may have also lost a key figure during her travels, though Kaguya was making gestures that it wasn't it.
She decided to place that matter aside for now. Elinda didn't want to talk about it and it wasn't Xue's place to pry. It probably was very awkward to have a stranger so concerned about one's personal affairs; leading to more walls being raised. Instead, Xue acknowledged that meeting Elinda was due to her Metagross wanting a bit of rest before reaching their destination. The young trainer, once again, let her instincts run wild with that statement. Her eyes gazed upon Metagross and thoughtfully scanned the mighty Pokemon. Xue remained quiet during these precious seconds, with the only noise coming out was a peep out of the curious Armada resting on her head.
"Tired huh? I dunno about that Elinda." the trainer let out, approaching the Metagross.
The girl got within arms reach, and calmly extended a hand towards Metagross's left front leg. She held no fear, but analytical concern that reflected more once her hand connected with the Pokemon's tough hide. Kaguya wiggled onto Xue's shoulders and Armada began levitating around to see what its trainer was doing. Beatrice and Xing Cai, who had been calm and patient during the exchange, respected the Metagross's area and continued to watch. Xue gently applied a bit of pressure and ran her hand up and down both sides of Metagross's leg. She didn't neglect a single area during this check either. From the flat base to the top joint that connected the heavy armor to the skinnier portion leading to the core, Xue quietly assessed a general health state of the Pokemon. Big and mighty as Metagross was, the pink haired girl smiled after finishing and then backed off a few steps.
"Definitely proud of its battle scars, though Metagross here could use a bit more Carbos worked into its food. Maybe more refined metals if it likes that sort of thing." Xue said, "I noticed a bit more wear and tear around its upper joint and the base of its legs. Steel types like Metagross tend to have because of its massive weight. They can lift itself and all, but the off and on effects of gravity take a toll as stress if not cared for!"
Xue covered her mouth for a moment, realizing she overstepped the social boundaries once again. A bad habit of hers; especially because she was trying not to showcase that strong breeder and health care background. Despite that, Xue knew those skills were invaluable as a trainer. Her Pokemon were all extremely healthy and always produced great results in training because of the amount of effort she put into their well-being. She wondered if Elinda was a specialist trainer too? Maybe Steel or Psychic or perhaps Ghost types! Hopefully the elder trainer wouldn't mind a little more time spent towards conversing.
She dug in her bag a bit and pulled out a larger, marble-like item from seemingly somewhere. The orb held shades representing the steel typing, and was very pretty to look at. Much like Kaguya's stone hair accessory, this one had a strange marking inside the marble
"Here you go Elinda." Xue happily said while placing the orb in the trainer's hands. "Something inside tells me you're a type-loving trainer like me and it's been an awesome treat to see a strong bond like yours and Metagross. Dunno what this is, but it has a steel-element color scheme doesn't it?"
The girl giggled a bit before letting the orb drop into Elinda's hand suddenly.
"No give-backs now! Try to smile a bit more Elinda. It'll help you and the morale of those around you, since surely you have something to be happy for."

We're pushing through the warped wind Outstripping the cold sky Nevertheless, we still continue to wander And yet again, expectations would be broken. While the kid had already shown a remarkable lack of nervousness or fear in general around Metagross, the last thing Elinda had seen coming was the trainer taking the opportunity to step even closer and actually reach out to touch the Iron Leg Pokemon. Once more, something that made Elinda wonder where the line of book smarts and actual experience started and ended - frankly speaking, that was not something that she would've attempted herself with a stranger's Pokemon by any stretch of the imagination, or even wild ones. Had Elinda ever tried that with the Onix that had lived in the mountains around her childhood home the veteran highly doubted she'd even be standing where she was right now, let alone alive in the first place. Pokemon weren't human, and while that wasn't to say that they should be treated with any less respect it still meant that they had their own set of rules that you had to play by. Where a person might not like to be touched by a stranger, the most you'd usually expect was the be pushed away - with Pokemon, however, that kind of reaction tended to be magnified if only because they didn't always operate by the unspoken social contract that humans tended to. With that thought in mind, though, Elinda didn't move from her position atop Metagross, simply keeping a hand on the titan's Pokeball just in case. In all the years she'd known the Pokemon he'd never been one to react to things like this, but judging from the sudden shift of his eyes away from the Beldum to the kid he was clearly surprised as well, even if it didn't exactly show. Far as Elinda knew most of his apparent apathy came from the fact that the Steel type simply didn't consider much of what he encountered to ever be actual threats, but that didn't mean he was predictable by any stretch of the imagination - Elinda was very much comfortable in the knowledge that he would never harm her, inadvertently or not, but that comfort didn't extend to people that Metagross hadn't ever interacted with before. Evidently something that the younger trainer hopefully had caught onto as well - shortly after inspecting Metagross' closest leg and speaking the kid would abruptly pull back, clearly flustered. Much to Elinda's admitted relief, although as the older trainer subtly let her hand fall away from Metagross' ball the other human would pause to pull something out of her own bag and offer it up to the blonde. "W- hold on, what is thi-?" Elinda started, again uncharacteristically caught off guard as she was forced to catch the orb as Xue tilted her hands to let it fall into Elinda's own. Not that she wasn't all for free things when she knew what she was getting, but the only thing that Elinda could immediately tell from looking at the baseball sized orb was that it was shiny, and likely quite breakable judging by the gleam... and this high up, hitting the ground was probably not something that would end well as Elinda briefly fumbled with the stone before getting a secure grip on it. As Xue had said, the coloration and pattern was not one that you normally saw. At first glance, a gem stone, albeit one that Elinda had never seen the like of before. On closer inspection, however, the interior had a strange, metallic look to it, more like purified ore or native metal, yet made of the same substance that the rest of the orb was at a glance - no nodules or other deformities to mark it as anything natural. No give backs? Under any other circumstance Elinda would've sworn she was getting screwed here - she wouldn't know how - but given the scenario the blonde really couldn't see a reason not to accept the odd, somewhat out of place gift. "Wait a sec, what is this, where'd it come from?" Elinda asked, glancing back down to the orb before back over to the younger trainer. @ tag |

Sunlight. I awaken from a dream.
These Ordinary Days.
Witnessing that platonic image melt away tickled the butterfrees that welled up inside Xue's stomach. Waking up from their Metapods after dealing with the spur of the moment, the most common after-thought was embarassment or regret. In this case though, that pink-haired girl was all-smiles. She giggled and wiped away a small tear that had gathered from all the happy feelings inside. Feelings that were generated because of the initial impression she got from this blonde-haired, Metagross rider.
A taste of heavy thoughts, and a bitter source. Xue would be the first to admit that she wasn't the most reserved audience member in the theater. Her life had no tragic points or visions of extreme drama that could win story of the year. The closest she ever got to such a theme was trying to convince her family the conviction inside towards becoming a Pokemon trainer. Yet a skill she was happy to claim as a talent was being able to connect with other's emotions; as well as be self-conscious about how hers effects others. A smile went a long way and the lack of one helped define a person's backlog of events for one to begin deciphering. Elinda was that sort of entity to her.
Enigmatic, yet sorrowful. She'd akin her to the often cold nature of Steel-types. People enjoyed their utility, but their tough exterior often masked the feelings inside. People who enjoyed Steel-type's embrace tend to have the same qualities. Maybe that's why Xue missed the memo for that boat? She humored that thought process for a while and zoned out for a bit. When Elinda had inquired about the mysterious stone's origins and identity, Kaguya had to yank on the fluff of Xue's blouse in order to snap her trainer back to the situation at hand.
"Hurmmm. To be honest with you..." Xue pondered a bit, before giving a goofy grin back. "I haven't the slightest clue!"
It wasn't a lie, because she really didn't know what it was. At best, maybe it was some super duper stone that unlocked the power within the Pokemon. The thought was amusing, even if unlikely.
"I found it on a Badlands visit a while back. Just like the one on Kagu-chin's head here, it came out of the ground and looked super pretty! How could I resist?" the girl explained. "Yours kinda looks like a steel orb and is pretty big. Kagu-chin's is a bit smaller and reminds me of a normal Ralt's color-scheme. Still pretty, and easy to make into an accessory!"
