The moment was nothing short of being high on emotional stress, what with suddenly meeting the Professors father on Mt. Moon. His deceased father, whom lost his life to save his son, who she thought was another woman the entire trip. And got jealous thinking that the flowers were for this other "she". She paused on her knees of the bedroom preparing to pull the phone charger out of the wall and instead turned face planting the bed. God she was such an IDIOT sometimes! Seriously what the hell was she thinking?! Who the hell gets jealous over a visit to a grave?! "Damn it. Damn it. Damn it." she smacked her face down into the mattress. Embarrassed at her assumptions was beyond words she was down right mortified. She can only remember the look of horrified shock as she realized the reason they had trekked up part of Mt. Moon was so she could meet his father.
'I feel like a wore a mini skirt and no panties to meet his parents...' she whimpered to herself before her phone vibrated letting her know she had a message waiting on her. Reaching over she fumbled to take it off the desk where it sat charging only to be met with a line of several missed messages and all from Etta. Mimi where are you? Are you okay? Mimi it's me Etta Call me back as soon as you get this. Did you make it all right?! MIMI I swear if you're dead I'm going to KILL YOU! CALL ME BACK or I'm callign teh Police! *calling the DAMN IT IT'S BEEN 36 HOURS CALL ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Uh Oh..." she muttered biting her bottom lip as she quickly pulled up her contacts and hit the call button praying that Etta was either on the other line and she'd get forwarded to voice mail or that her battery was dead.

The sound of the phone being answered was her only warning before she winced and dared speak. "Hello?" CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

"I'm gonna be finding sand in my pockets for years."
Etta gave up, stuffing the wad of dusty clothes into a drawstring bag and tossing it into the corner of the hotel room. She would wash them . . . someday. After she could put the whole incident behind her. And stop feeling like there was a small, green beach ball following her every move. At least trekking through the desert had saved her travel costs. And she had met Stell . . .
Yeah, so it had been a worthwhile trip, all sand infestation aside.
Etta sighed and fell back onto the bed. Cleave and Eclair were sleeping off their big meal (Cleave had even let the whole desert thing pass, after getting to meet Stell). She had finally showered, put on her favorite sweatshirt and shorts, and now, at long last, she had found a comfortable mattress. Still didn't compare in the least to the one in her Saffron apartment, but it would do for some much-needed sleep. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
Bzzzzt. Bzzzzt. Bzzzzt.
Etta sat up. Turned. Directed a death glare at her cell phone, which was currently rattling atop the nightstand. With a sigh, she crawled across the bed and picked it up, squinting down at the screen.
She hit the answer key immediately, not giving herself time to think.
". . . Hello?" came the familiar, and now slightly timid, voice. Etta sat back against the headboard, and, smiling faintly, silently counted to ten.
"Well, well - look who finally decided that my calls were worthy of an answer."

"Well, well - look who finally decided that my calls were worthy of an answer."
Mimi cringed on the other line at that tone, she knew all too well the sarcastic guilt trip that was in store. "It's not like that." Mimi defended rather sharply rolling over to sit on her hip as she leaned against the side of the bed. "The phone died and had to charge it. Then this morning I accidentally forgot to grab it and left it on the charger when we went to the Pokemart." she explained hoping that it was enough to appease Etta. Sighing heavily Mimi rolled back up onto her knees and started to pack her bag once more making note that she'd have to find a one hour dry cleaners somewhere along the way to get her clothes cleaned. She tisked as she held up her dirty red silk blouse hoping that all the pale brown patches would come out of it. "How about you Etts? You find anything yet?" she inquired about the job hunt she was on. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

Etta sat up in bed, crossing her legs. "Oh, no. You do not get to change the subject. I have questions." She sighed, shook her head. "Mimi, you do not call someone, imply that you are fleeing the country and utter the words 'if anything happens to me' and then not give me the whole story. Where are you, who are you with, and what the hell happened at Devon?"
After Mimi's first, quick and dirty phone message, Etta had done some calling to her friend in Saffron, and gotten a glossed-over version of some internal power plays going on in the Hoenn corporation. It seemed that no one knew for sure what was going on, but it sounded like Mimi had managed to stumble into a really bad situation.
Damn - when she had consulted there, she had known something was up. She just hadn't had enough time to figure out what, exactly.

"Oh, no. You do not get to change the subject. I have questions."
Mimi paused in her packing face planting the bed once more with a groan. The phone falling away from the crook of her shoulder and ear landing beside her in a small bounce on the mattress. Turning her head to the side she picked it back up she laid it to her ear. "Mimi, you do not call someone, imply that you are fleeing the country and utter the words 'if anything happens to me' and then not give me the whole story. Where are you, who are you with, and what the hell happened at Devon?"
"Well, I'm in Kanto, for starters!" she began trying to leave the foreboding tone out of her voice and kick it up a notch for the sake of conversation. "Sorry about the first message I gave you I was kind of caught up in the moment." she explained with a light chuckle. "You know, trying to make light of a shitty situation?"
"What. Happened. At Devon Corp."
Mimi could almost feel the glare through the phone as she cringed and bit her lower lip. She wanted to blurt out everything but if anyone found out she breached contract good bye fortune. "I got fired." she said running her tongue behind her bottom lip. "Apparently I was having a very bad day and decided to turn the entire companies Elevator music to Death Metal including the VIP box." she explained only the necessary, using the company lingo for the Presidents private elevator. "I must've had one heck of a hangover." she nodded to herself picking up her dirty shorts and folding them over in with her shirt that would need cleaned. "And so right now I'm enjoying my freedom and currently bunking with the hottest Professor I have ever seen."

"I got fired . . . Apparently I was having a very bad day and decided to turn the entire companies Elevator music to Death Metal including the VIP box."
Etta resisted the urge to slap a hand over her face and groan, instead rolling off the bed and beginning to walk around the room slowly.
"I must've had one heck of a hangover."
Well, if that's how she wants to play it, I am way too tired to stop her.
It must have been pretty serious, though - that was one of the crappiest lies Etta had ever heard. And Etta had heard some doozies. But, Mimi seemed more or less OK. Kanto wasn't a bad place to be on the run in. so, she decided to let it slide for the moment. Especially when she heard the rest of the explanation.
"And so right now I'm enjoying my freedom and currently bunking with the hottest Professor I have ever seen."
Yeah. Etta had heard that tune before. Another one of Mimi's famous crushes . . . Etta supposed it was kind of endearing, in a way. At least the girl never gave up.
"A hot professor, huh?" Etta asked, chuckling, as she shuffled over to the window and sat on the sill. There was a man in the hotel courtyard trying to coax a Donphan out of the decorative shrubbery. "Well, tell me all about him. You got a picture to send?"

"A hot professor, huh?"
"MmHm," Mimi hummed nodding her head as she cradled the phone with her ear and shoulder. "He deals with fossil's and works for the Museum here." She finished zipping up her bag and looked around the room to see if she was missing anything before opening the door and checking the bathroom one last time to make sure she didn't leave anything behind. "Well, tell me all about him. You got a picture to send?"
"Picture?" Mimoza paused pulling her head back out of the shower and looking at herself in the mirror confused. 'Shit.' Pulling the phone away she curled her lips back checking her teeth then put it back to her ear. "No?" she said innocently with a large eyed blink at her reflection. She never thought about asking for a photo of him though she was pretty sure there might be an employee picture of him on the Museums website if they had one. Pulling the phone away she stared at the screen of it for a moment looking at her icons before putting it back to head. "How do you take a picture on a phone anyway?" she asked turning around to go back to her room but pausing in the hallway finding that his bedroom door was open. Biting her bottom lip she looked out towards the living room catching him walking into the kitchen. "Oh hoho,"her voice dropped to a whisper as she moved on tip toe towards his room just to get a clue of what kind of person he was underneath it all."Someone left their bedroom door open~." Childish? Maybe, just a smidge at least. Not that she was always the sexually high strung college girl. On the contrary, she was just curious of a handsome mans private dwellings.
She dared not enter it and instead just stood in the hall peeking her head towards it looking in from the door jam.

"Picture?" Mimi asked. "No . . . How do you take a picture on a phone anyway?"
Etta continued to watch the Donphan fiasco playing out below. The man had tried to go into the bushes after it, but got his clothes caught on a branch and had fallen in.
"There should be a phone icon on the menu. Then you aim and hit a button, I guess."
Mimi didn't say anything for a little while, then, and a bad feeling worked itself up in Etta's throat. That all-too-familiar Just Totally Created a Monster feeling.
"Oh hoho."
Etta's shoulders drooped. "Mimi, what are you doing?"
She was whispering, now; Etta cranked the volume up on her phone.
"Mimi."
"Someone left their bedroom door open~"
Oh my gaaaaaaawwwwwwwd. Etta abandoned the Donphan saga and crossed the bedroom, falling backwards onto the bed, eyes squeezed shut in frustration. Why did she do this to herself? Why were all her friends so . . . She sobbed internally and rolled over on her stomach.
"Stop Mimi."
No reply. Which meant she was probably standing there slack-jawed and staring into the poor guy's bedroom, or something blatantly ridiculous like that.

"Mimoza,"
"Hmm?" She answered halfheartedly as her eyes took in the unmade bed with the dark blue sheets and soft silvery gray blanket. The pristine white pillowcases seemed to have a subtle stripe pattern to them. Her eyes moved from the wrinkles and indentation where his head laid to the rest of it. It kind of stunned her really, he seemed so...noble. Like he'd never have been caught with such disorder. She found the floor littered in books half open, turned upside down, piled up with pieces of paper, forgotten mail, and bright post-it notes sticking out of them at random marking pages making her wonder if he was still in school and not quite finished yet. But what pulled her eyes from the chaos was the walls. The walls left a plain white, as she guessed it was because of it being standard for all the dorms, and flecked with some small posters of nature and Pokemon until you got over towards the window. From there it seemed he put up the shelving himself as it looked just a smidge lopsided. But she felt she was staring at a precious private collection. Stones, rocks, fossils, to scale models of Pokemon covered the space in a colorful display of earthy tones with brilliant pieces of broken, ...colored glass?
She hadn't even realized she moved inside to get a better look as she stood amongst his book labyrinth staring at the way some of the stones glittered in the sunlight or how the paint on the models seemed less manufactured and more authentic. She could see his delicate hands using a small brush to go over things. Comparing and mixing colors next to the living model until he found the correct shade. That's when her eyes moved over to a simple gold picture frame beside a particularly long fossil. Only this one was of a leaf. In the photo was what she could only guess was his father, and himself as a small boy, grinning and holding out the same rock in his hands. The older man was kneeling down beside him with that proud fatherly grin smiling at the camera making Mimoza smile back at it nodding her head to the picture.
"Your voyeur is showing."
"Huh?" she blinked out of it hearing Etta's voice cut through her thoughts, finally jarring her awake. She looked around wide eyed realizing where she stood. 'Shoot!' "Sorry I just- I didn't mean to-ow!" she apologized as if she'd been caught and turned to leave, when her toe met the corner of a book. Her back teeth bit down hard as she sucked in breath through her lips in a hiss leaning forward rubbing her foot. That's when she looked up freezing in place as Arthur stood there in the door way looking her. He didn't seem mad, just disappointed? Maybe?
"I'll call you back." she said slow steady whisper and disconnected the line. Like a small animal assuming it was in trouble she sank down into a small crouching ball rubbing over her toes staring up at him. "Sorry." she muttered to him as her face turned pink.

So it had been a Kabutops fossil. How delightful - his instinct was becoming very accurate. He could already recognize most fossils by sight, and those that had to be unearthed were not that difficult either. Yes, he had made a mess of his room in trying to find the books in which he had found the pictures which proved his theory correct. But his room was his alone, and only Morgana was in there. There was no issue in his mind as he, in his sleeping clothes, went to get some breakfast.
His mind was hazy as he poured the Oran juice into his cup and cooked some eggs, making sure to make extra for Mimi. How interesting, this adventure would be... Very interesting. The Fossil Professor sipped some Oran juice nonchalantly as he thought of the possibilities. Sinnoh was a very good place to search for Fossils - hadn't he said he always wanted a Shieldon? Perfect timing.
He heard Mimi on the phone, but he kept eating. She sounded somewhat excited.
There was a certain boredom in the way he ate his breakfast. How contra-puntal. He was about to embark on adventure once more, beautiful adventure - so why wasn't he excited. It had to be the morning - he needed some food in his belly. The eggs seemed to be never-ending, infinite, as he chewed and chewed again. Slowly, as he finished, he rose and washed the dishes. Stretching a bit, he moved back to his room to change into normal clothes.
Oh?
Mimoza was standing in his room, clearly stubbing her toe on Arithmatica Et Geometria. Good. He hated that book. He looked over her with almost surprise, but not anger. His biggest concern was that the room was a mess. Nonchalantly, he called:
"Morgana, do me a favor and put the mess away." The stone which was hiding under a pile of books burst to life and out came Morgana, the Spiritomb, as she floated upward and snickered mischievously. Suddenly, all the books were covered in a deep, purple aura, as they floated upward and began to be placed in their specific spots. The sheets of the bed were being made by invisible hands. In a few seconds, the room was as pristine as always. Arthur chuckled and looked to Mimoza again.
"If you'd like, you can borrow any book from my personal library, as long as you put it back." He said, walking in.
"Now, if you'd excuse me, I have to change out of these sleeping clothes - do close the door behind you."

"Huh?"
Yep, she had totally been zoning out.
Etta chuckled. "I said, get out of there. He's going to catch you."
But already, there was an odd silence on the other line. Etta sat up on her legs, turning the volume up a little more.
"Mimi?"
When she spoke again, she sounded like she had pulled the phone away.
"Sorry I just- I didn't mean to-ow!"
She's caught.
Etta had done a fair amount of snooping in her day, and not all of her ventures had been successful. But those had been, for the most part, business-related, so she wasn't sure how things were going to go with Mimi's new traveling companion. Etta was used to being unceremoniously escorted away from the premises.
Maybe he would take it alright? It was Mimi, after all. It wasn't as though she easily came off as malicious. Just so long as this professor guy wasn't particularly touchy about his space, which some professors could definitely be.
And, you know, assuming he was mostly dressed.
"I'll call you back."
The line disconnected without any more tells as to how the situation was faring, and Etta resituated herself again so she was sitting against the headboard of the bed, the phone sitting on the pillow beside her.
At least she knew Devon hadn't sent hitmen after her, or something crazy like that. She had probably gotten herself tangled in some kind of corporate intrigue, but for the time being it didn't sound like her life was threatened.
Her dignity, on the other hand . . .
She said, quietly, "Good luck, Mimi."
Absently, she wondered if she should go down to the hotel restaurant and order some dessert.
